  • Summer Landscape Photography is challenging. Early Sunrises give way to long days of contrasty lighting making photography difficult, with deep shadows and extreme contrast ranges. After making the most of the situation I search for quieter and softer corners of the woodland landscape for my photography.
In this video, I create 3 very different photographs whilst battling with contrasty lighting. I found three completely different ways to tackle the problem:
    1. Going with the flow and working with the intense colours.
    2. working with graphic shapes in the river and making a strong monochrome image.
    3. Finally, search for the quieter shady corners and make something out of the wildflowers.
You may be interested in using your telephoto lens to bring the small pockets of art to be found all around us in nature. Check out this video from my collection - where I was forced to embrace the telephoto after my 24-105 lens broke.

Great video Brian, it is difficult with the harsh light we have had over the last few weeks but you have created some great captures and the old saying we’re there’s a will there is a way. Thank you for that extra insight and keep up the good work.
