No, it is not true; there is no such discrimination in the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Prince Hall Masons have full recognition, and there are many African Americans who are members of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.

I have a funny story about a member of the Masonic Lodge. The year is 1941, the small town is Tifton, GA. My 17 year old mother has a 15 month old baby girl, my older sister. The owner of the property would cut across the property of my mother and father, even on days when my 15 month old sister was out playing. He and my granddaddy were members of the local Masonic Lodge. My mother told him, "Mr. Smith, if I tell my husband, my father, and the other lodge members what you are trying to do, do you know what they would do to you?" According to my mother, that man turned as white as a sheet and literally got down on his knees and begged her not to do such a thing! She never did tell and he stopped cutting across the property. I do not know if he was afraid of being kicked out of the lodge or the fact that my daddy and my granddaddy would've killed him.
