  • The Arturia Minifuse 1 in the best budget audio interface I have tested to date, and it compares very well against the more expensive Audient ID4. It works well with the Rode Podmic, the Presonus PD-70, and the Berhinger XM8500. This really is a great audio interface at this price point.

    Thankyou, I think this video might have sold me on getting the minifuse 1, wanted to ask what post processing/editing process you typically do? (Do you apply a compressor, boost, any eq settings?) Replacing my evo 4 after having a series of issues with it and looking to streamline and refine my recording/editing process.

    Now, I'm not a audio interface connoisseur at all. But simply for pure DAW electronic music creation (Ableton Live) without any recording in, just the use of software instruments & effects within Live, would you consider this audio interface good in term of audio output quality (with some high quality studio monitors that I already have)?

    In Europe The ID4 is 130/140 euro, not 250.

    Have you found any sort of adapters that will let you use the boya or Rhode mini with an audio interface? I tried on my Roland interface but zero sound. I realize that's not what those mics were made for but it would be an added bonus.

    • @markwiemels
      @markwiemels  Před 2 lety

      Yes, the Audio interface uses a 1/4 inch TS plug, not TRS or TRRS. I assume you could adapt this with a TS to TRS adapter? But I have not tried it.

      I actually used to use my movo vxr10 pro when I first started and the solution I found that eventually worked was using the Deity D-XLR to adapt it to XLR. You had to use phantom power but it worked with a clean signal.

    • @markwiemels
      @markwiemels  Před 2 lety +1

      Both are good, but the minifuse gives you two instruments in, instead of one, plus midi in and out, seems way more versatile for instrument only.

    • @jetardeshna3449
      @jetardeshna3449 Před 2 lety

      @@markwiemels Thanks. It's just that iD4 boasts that console preamp while minifuse doesn't have any such backing. So the tradeoff is that 5-10% better quality vs extra inputs and midi. Thanks again.

      As you want to use a dynamic mic, go for an interface with the least amount of preamp noise. Of course, keep your budget in mind. Google the specs of some of the budget leaders and choose one. Let us know how it goes..

Its very good, i just had issue with drivers on Win 11, and theres a slight high pitch noise (like coil whine or something) the closer I get the mic to my PC, so I'll have to either try another cable or move my PC from my desk lmao (having the mic further away from the PC fixes it, I get perfect clean audio)

    The sound would be OK, the only issue is too audible plosives and that spoils sound of any mic and interface. Also, I see too many people with expensive SM7B with popping plosives. Either a proper pop-filter is needed or better positioning of the mic. It must be well aside (and you should not turn your head toward it) or slightly above the mouth (and that is not so nice in a video).

    • @markwiemels
      @markwiemels  Před 2 lety

      Yes, plosives is a problem. The Podmic doesn't perform well being that far away to the side, the PD-70 does, and can be used that way.
