What future do my children have to look forward to? I was an Infantryman in the 82nd Airborne for 6 years and I'll shout it from the rooftops. DON"T JOIN THE MILITARY. Now I'm in my late 30s, 90% disabled, and have to live with my mom because the cost of living is so high I can't afford a car note, rent, and food at the same time. And if you actually try to fight the VA to get the help you need they will not so subtly remind you that your disability rating could always be lowered if its reevaluated. So once again DON'T JOIN THE MILITARY. The Government doesn't care about you, the VA doesn't care about you, and most of all the American people don't care about you, so why should you care about them.

Well I’m 18 from Denver and as soon as I graduate I’m enlisting in the U.S. ARMY INFANTRY
Make sure you take college classes while serving because there's very little thin ice opportunities with that MOS background outside of security and law enforcement.
