Sir you should do a part 2 of this video because she went into a church vamp of joy to the world right after this!!! you would have loved it, and it would have really illuminated the influences gospel has on her sound and vocal choices.

This woman's technical awareness, musicality, and agility is/were incredible. Truly the greatest to do it in her prime for so many reasons.
People sometimes disrespect her and they don’t realize she is the biggest of all time and nobody can’t compare to her in her prime!

Mariah taught me about chest, head, nasal voice as well as vibrato, runs and mainly octaves....I'm crying 😢 😭
Mariah really has effortless range. I love her voice.
She also gets more vocally comfortable with each modulation. Which is cool that she is at home in higher keys. She flowed more easily in the higher key because she had to use less effort to execute the vocal techniques that are unique to her voice.

Mariah is one of the best singers of all times, her technique, styling, and range is amazing! The best! A Legend! That Gospel influence was kicking in! Such a wonderful producer! Such a wonderful vocalist!
What pains me is that people see her only as high notes! If they listen to her songs and the voice that comes out of that tiny body, it is insane. Her whisper register is insane and I've never heard that ever again from anyone else, who can whisper and transition into different octaves so effortlessly. THEY NEED TO LOOK PAST HER NODULES AND VOICE DECLINE, COS WHAT SHE GAVE US IS INSANE, AND NO ONE CAN COVER ANY SONG IF HERS PERIOD! SHE HAS PROVED HERSELF OVER AND OVER AGAIN. SHE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE ANY OTHER ARTIST OUT THERE EITHER. LIKE NO ONE CAN COPY A WHITNEY, CELINE OR MARIAH OR ARETHA, PATTI LA BELLE, BARBARA STREISAND ETC. THE GREATS OF THE GREATS. TOO MANY ARTISTS THESE DAYS CAN BE COPIED.
You are absolutely right. I think that mainstream singers post 2000"s or 2010's are just wannabe who want to emulate or imitate those legends. What makes a huge difference between old school singers with current singers is that former singers were both vocalists and had incredible musicianship, which is no longer current nowadays.
Mariah is my absolute fave! And even with nodules, having children and aging, when she rests, she is still able to do AHHHMAZING things with her voice.
I do agree that no one can replicate her, but there are a few who have studied her technique and have the utmost respect for her and their crafts that they can do her songs justice. Tamar Braxton being one.
Her low notes don't get enough respect. I honestly like her low better then the the highs, and whistles. I always wanted to here her do a version of You Bring Me Joy.

Mariah is an extraordinary Vocalist , her vocal agility is insane , her range is extradinary , she is a great belter , her chest voice Is well developed and her lower register is very full and rich , her technique is good but it's not really great , I personally think she could work on her technique but she's still an amazing Vocalist ❤❤❤
Jaron, you’re such an amazing vocal teacher. I can tell you have genuine connection with the music and I wish more teachers were like u. Mariah is my ultimate influence. She made me feel comfortable singing in my head voice & transitions, because I don’t like to belt a lot. She has helped me take control of my voice. OMG! Of course, Mariah Carey is a vocal powerhouse, but let's talk about how this teacher's voice is so incredibly well projected with support & power! I was so blown away!
P.S. This ballad actually has the second part. It didn't end there. She sang it in a old-school gospel style with back to back F#5 belts with great stamina. You may check it out!
I recommend a singer called Diana Navarro. With the song "El perdón" she is very versatile and sings different styles of music with incredible melismas. And with a very personal voice.
