    Great video! Love the comparison. The only thing that you missed was that if you press the sound button when all pieces are disconnected it makes the labored breathing sound when Darth Vader is weakened from being electrocuted by the emperor. Try it out!

    A lot of inaccuracies but is pretty cool once you have one of your own. The front part of the dome is definitely off and the face is wide. This is probably due to the electronic part of it all. I put off buying one for a long time but recently came across one for cheap on eBay and pulled the trigger. I’m not disappointed but like I said, there are a few inaccuracies.

    I use the black series myself, but again I just role that it's a variation of his armor. Granted only 300 up will get u a better wow version. BUT It's a great place to learn, comfortable, and learning to modify it will teach you a lot about maybe making it from scratch.
    I've replaced my lenses with red hexagon lenses, the grill with a dual layer (small and large layer). I am only 6 ft 2 so in a way the black series is like the right scale, david has a long long neck XD... Normal dude not so much.
    Next steps will be dual layer paint the mask, leangthen the neck (easier than you think) and build and thicken the helmet of course all before the repaint. I appreciate that even though u got 501rst level stuff, u dnt knock the normal guy for loving this.
    I love screen accuracy too, but I'm a sort of DIY sort and I considered this a great helmet to practice/learn on. Besides later on I'll just use the whole old setup as dummy and use my 501rst level of course. There are also replacement tusks. OR theirs a type of metallic foil that forms to things amazingly u can use to wrap the tusks.
    Any ways sorry for the ramble, aspiring 501rster hope to hear from you! If you check my channel I do a vader impersonation with no pitch adjustments.

      Hey there! Thank you for the comment and compliments! Looks like you have a lot of mods in the future for the Hasbro helmet. They are great helmets to build up from. I appreciate all costumes and cosplays. It's all about having fun!! I have had things in my collection made from paper mache, cardboard, EVA foam, etc., and I've loved them all. Costumes can get very pricey, and creativity can go a long way.

    Do you plan to make an updated comparison with the new Obi-Wan Kenobi version of the Black Series helmet?

      I saw that Hasbro is going to release another Vader helmet early next year apparently based on the Obi Wan series. They say that it will have a new sculpt, however looking at the stock photos, I don't really see that much of a difference. I will more than likely pick one up though haha. If there are significant differences, then I will likely make a video on it.
      At the beginning of the video, I use a compact voice amplifier. They are designed for public speaking. It's up to you to modify your voice. With enough practice, you can sound like a Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, Vader, etc. Here's a link. Check out the different amplifiers, and pick the best one that suits you:

      Yes, two separate Vader helmets were released. To my understanding, Hasbro lengthened the neck a bit on the Obi Wan version. They also gave it a more accurate two-tone paint job with black and gun metal. Other than that, they appear to be the same. I may eventually pick one up in the future since it is slightly more accurate than the original Vader helmet that was released.

      No. I thought that as well. The one on far right (Rubie Supreme) looks screen accurate to A New Hope to me. And a lot of the publicity stills from '77. I have the Black Series one and it's a good helmet but I just wish it had an extended neck. My Don Post helmet has the extended neck and looks '77 accurate but it's a smaller helmet again. @firespraypilotcosplayandpr4195  Před 2 lety

      I am somewhat in agreeance with you there. I have talked about this briefly in some of my videos. However, I have less of a problem with the appearance of a particular Star Wars helmet or prop, and more of an issue with any real-world application. Seems like there wasn't really much thought put into applicability. By design, most of the helmets have very little to no visibility to start with. I know that most of the designs are generally for aesthetic reasons, and are made for that coolness factor. I love some of the looks, and others I do not. But application of equipment needs to be taken into account when writing a great story line. The MK50 Environmental Suits from Alien for example. That was a very well thought out, applicable design that a space trucker from the future would don and wear on a barren planet. Apparently, you can even breath on every single planet in Star Wars without life support gear. Who knows...maybe someday if I have time, I'll get some gear together with a quick script and do some comparisons of sci-fi VS real-world gear. Thanks for the comment bud!

      @firespraypilotcosplayandpr4195  Před 7 měsíci

      It's definitely far from perfect, but I think that it still makes a pretty cool display piece for your average collector. I don't think that the issue is rights since they needed to get permission to create a commercially available product. I think that it's more about budgeting. They wanted to create a mass produced 3 tier electronic helmet. The original Vader buckets were huge, so they probably opted to scale them down. With a smaller wearable helmet, they would have to make it wider in the face to compensate for the shorter top. However you're right, they could've researched a bit more, and made a much more accurate helmet. I just picked up the newly released Vader helmet by EFX. A great helmet for the price point, and it has direct lineage to the ANH helmet.

    • @firespraypilotcosplayandpr4195
      @firespraypilotcosplayandpr4195  Před rokem

      I completely agree with you on the dark gunmetal color on the face of the original trilogy helmets. This was done on purpose by the movie producers at the time due to the fact that the all black was posing lighting issues. However, the final look on camera appears as mostly black. It was not until the original screen used helmet photos were released that fans truly noticed the two-tone paint of the mask and the red lenses on the ANH helmet. As a result, all marketing for Vader products was all black. A similar production decision was also made for the AT-AT Driver helmet and armor. Although it appears to be white in the movie, it was actually light gray in color to contrast against the background. Again, for years fans and marketing made the AT-AT armor white in color until the screen used prop photos were released. The Vader helmet and armor has undergone numerous changes with color and greeblies throughout the films, and the ROTS helmet is in fact all black. The Kenobi helmet appears all black as well. Therefore, I guess it would really depend on what version a person is going for or how screen accurate you want to go. I have painted Vader helmets one-tone, two-tone, pearl, bronze, chrome, etc. In this case, the customer wanted an all black helmet. Ultimately, it's all about having fun while dressing up as plastic space men. Take care brother!

One thing though; You mentioned "the Kenobi helmet" - if you mean the current show, take a close look. It's two tone after all and actually quite apparent in many shots. The only thing missing is the pointy brow and somebody big enough to actually fill the suit. What blows me away is how totally apparent the two tone is even in the og trilogy.
