    Consider this: the Silent King *WON* that war against godlike beings. This single victory rendered him peerless in military accomplishment. @@KaiserAfini Fair enough, though that whole part of the lore just reeks of GW bullshit power scaling to me and I find it hard to take it seriously. If the emperor is a little shit compared to the old ones and the c'tan easily overpowered the old ones, the necrons shouldn't have been able to trap the c'tan, even with possible help from one of them and various other minor gods. Or if they did, they shouldn't be the little bitches they are now. Clearly, the entire universe has just been massively nerfed between the war in heaven and today. Otherwise, every single necron would have to be a threat comparable to that of the foot soldiers on the other side (krork, full-powered eldar psykers), making them possibly equivalent to a primarch. But in reality, they're little robot shits who get possessed by Lucius (LOL). So no matter how good the silent king is/was, he just doesn't have the same kind of juice to work with in the current setting. I don't think GW has put in the work yet to make the war in heaven era lore at all compatible with the 40k lore... integrating the 30k lore in a consistent manner is already an ongoing huge project, the dark age of technology lore is extremely dodgy in comparison and the war in heaven era is, in my head, for all intents and purposes really a different setting. If you take it seriously, there are just too many fucked up inconsistencies.

Humans may be highly evolved brain wise, but our bodies have a lot of evolutionary fuck ups that won’t go away any time soon.
      Same with the Necrontyre. They were probably very slowly adapting to the radiation(which, being sentient and an extremophile would take a long ass time to evolve to begin with. Radiation is not very friendly to life) so leaving their home planet wouldn’t have done much to fuck them up.

    What happened in the dark age of technology? Humanity was at it's peak and the Emperor was just chilling, not yet being the Emperor. Also, apparently las guns could spit out tiny suns and in modern day, people just forgot how (I learned this in a intro to some audio book, I forget which one) and there was a pole arm which had two black holes instead of blades. Other shit like that. Fuck yeah I want to learn what was going on then. Also, what do we know about that one krork? if it was unleashed in the galaxy could it start a new race of super orkz?

    • @3goats1coat
      @3goats1coat Před rokem +2

      Damm, a full year and no replies. Here's my headcanon on the krorks.
      Nothing changed, and the 40k orks are exactly the same as 60mill years ago. The vast difference in exhibited technology, battlefield strategy, and size comes from the scale of the conflict and its relation to the number of orks generating the gestalt field. It's a fact how the bigger the waaagh, the more complex their technology gets (see Gargants) and the bigger the warboss is. The War of the Beast has yielded not one, but 6 beasts nearing krork size and strength (not to talk about ork diplomats who spoke eloquently); giving Vulcan a run for his money. No spoilers, but he was outclassed and despite winning he's MiA since. Ghazghkull is another example of an ork stretching the boundaries of what it means to be an ork.
      Long story short, krorks are a possibility. They just need a waaagh and challenge big enough for orks to wish themselves to be 12+m tall rocket scientists clad in power armor that makes a dreadnaught look like a wet cardboard box.

    • @Rakanarshi2
      @Rakanarshi2 Před rokem

      @@3goats1coat Wow, that would make a lot of sense. Not a big enough fight around. a Krork did arrive in modern 40k, it might have to fight against becoming a Ork while trying to get a big enough Wagh going to support it.

    • @3goats1coat
      @3goats1coat Před rokem

      @@Rakanarshi2 that's a possibility WG is teasing us with, as Trazyn has an original krork in stasis. That, if released could single handedly make or break the galaxy by becoming a warboss.
      But to put some ice on that boner, Trazyn has many more treasures from the War in Heaven. Even ones so powerful, the necrons themselves banned them. Like the whatshisface star snuffer. A room of holographic galaxy chart that's updated in realtime. If you snuff a star with your finger like a candle in that room, the star in the real galaxy is extinguished also.

    Well there are some possible explanations to the necrontyr not having the evolutionary defences for radiation.
    one being that their ancestors never had to deal with radiation until recently which is why their only defence is having just enough radiation resistance just to live on the planet.
    If not that then they may have had underground societies from the get go which would have limited their radiation intake there fore they wouldn't be as well adapted.
    Of course there may have been a situation where there were necrontyr who did adapt properly in the lower classes which could have been seen as a threat by any necrontyr of nobility and thus they were exterminated.
    That or GW just doesn't sell enough necrons to actually care to explain this shit

      The C'tan traversed many galaxies.
      This was no cavern. Was this entire space, the walls and floor, the air and every molecule within it, part of some vast intelligence, a being or construct of ancient malice and phenomenal, primeval power? Such a thing had no name; for what use would a being that had brought entire civilisations into existence and then snuffed them out on a whim have of a name? It had been abroad in the galaxy for millions of years before humanity had been a breath in the creator’s mouth, had drunk the hearts of stars and been worshipped as a god in a thousand galaxies.

      They also destroyed some of them.
      Every flaring beam of light ripped from the star that washed its power over the ship shortened the star's lifespan by a hundred thousand years, but the occupants of the starship cared not that its death would cause the extinction of every living thing in that system.
      Galaxies had lived and died by their masters' command, whole stellar realms had been extinguished for their pleasure and entire races brought into existence as their playthings. What mattered the fate of one insignificant star system to beings of such power?
      - Nightbringer
      The webway also extended outside the galaxy.
      The webway once spanned the galaxy, even stretching out into the empty void beyond. Those days are long gone. Ravaged by war and catastrophe, many of its tunnels have been torn open or amputated entirely, and a great number of its entrances have been sealed by the Aeldari themselves as a desperate measure to deny their foes access.
