The Night King's New Identity THEORY! - Game of Thrones Season 8 (End Game Theory)

- Welcome back for another Game of Thrones Season 8 End Game Theory video. In today's video I will be talking about the Night King's end game. I believe the Night King has a secret power that has been hiding right under our nose this whole time. I'm not sure if he will ever use this type of magic he possess, but I believe there is enough sufficient evidence to prove he can do this if he wanted to. This could be the third twist in Game of Thrones. Will the Night King ever be defeated, or will the Night King lose to Bran Stark and Jon Snow? Can the Night King only be replaced? What does the Night King want? What is the Night King's true identity? These are some of the big questions surrounding the Night King's story, but only a few will probably get answered in the final season of Game of Thrones. Let me know how you think it all ends. Leave your questions or comments down below. Thanks for watching!

I personally think Jon's "you don't understand" line is more of a "one does not simply walk into Mordor kind of thing". I.e. I don't think killing him will be easy.
Yea meaning, it ain't that easy bruh.
@Ben LouisThe WW was going to slash open Jon if Jon hadn't defended himself with Longclaw.
It's kinda obvious that killing him won't be easy.
In the german version, that's exactly what he says: "It's not that easy."
If that's the case, shouldn't that line have been said by Ned Stark?
Is there anyone outside addicted as I am to the Talking Thrones channel? 🙈For days I review every video over and over again and now I feel as wise as a maester of the citadel. 🤗 Thank you so much for doing this! 🙏🙏🙏

Yes!
There was something strange about how Hodor’s eyes went back to normal right as he started holding the door. His comprehension came back. Bran was standing there staring at Hodor and the 3ER was staring at Bran. Did Bran get stuck in the past and the 3ER taken over Bran? The promise to fly again seems like a play on words. The 3ER warned Bran that if he stayed too long he’d get stuck there. We all assumed the 3ER was killed and evaporated but what if he left Bran in the past purposely. Bran didn’t come back to reality until well out of the cave and was changed from then on. Seems like he was lured into the cave so that the 3ER could get out.
Yep.
There is a video explaining how the 3ER set Bran up to become his successor, from the moment he got pushed from a tower and breaking both of his legs.
I think that's possible, and I think that has happened. The NK and bran stared at each other before arya came flying. They might have switched bodies in that moment.
“What is dead may never die.”
Jon Snow and Berric also?

WTF... it's already been TWO years!
Will bran enter viserion? And kill the night king?! I remember the three eyed raven told him he will never walk again but he will fly!
well, he is flying now trhough ravens/crows those birds already.
He did, in a raven.
Ive been thinking this since i found out about Worging and Dragons
Lol that would be so funny if he just crashed into a wall to kill the night king, so silly and anti climactic
angeemima He may be able to worge into Visarion with the Night King on it an destroy them both that would be cool
I think if Bran is the NK then he gave Arya the dagger on purpose for her to eventually use it to kill him, ending the time loop they are all trapped in. The time loop being that Bran at some point enters the NK mind and becomes trapped in his mind, living inside his mind for thousands of years.
This is where I think people don’t fully understand...
Wheelchair Bran touches a weirwood and enters the NK while he is still human. But the COTF do the ritual and turn him into the NK, which traps Brans consciousness for thousands of years, all the up until the present day NK we see now. So Brans consciousness lives out thousands of years as the NK, which occurs nearly in an instant for Wheelchair Bran in the current time. Kinda like the type of time travel we see in interstellar, when the closer they get to the black hole, the faster time moves in relation to everyone back on earth. How his children can age 40 years in what was only hours for him.
I think eventually Arya will be informed or figure out what is happening, and use the dagger to kill Wheelchair Bran, simotainiously killing the NK from the present.
Watch the scene again where Bran gives the dagger to Arya and you will see the foreshadowing.
Bran” It’s wasted on a cripple.”
The ultimate attempt at sarcastic irony.
And watch his face when he hands it to her. How he watches the dagger as it slowly leaves his hands. Knowing that he is giving this to Arya so that she will use it to kill him.
X
I DO agree with you... Bran´s face while he gives the dagger to Arya was so strange.... But I believe that Arya killing Bran won´t kill the NK, cause Bran will be trapped inside NK since then.
100%👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Its really interesting but difficult to relay in a teleplay in a satisfying way.
I like the time travel "theory" because what else is bran supposed to do again someone like the nightking? He'd have to do some sort of time travel to obtain super weirwood powers exactly like the nightkings
When Jon Snow says “you don’t understand” it’s because “ONE SKIN CHANGER CAN ALWAYS SENSE ANOTHER”

Notice how all the Stark hero's from The Age of Hero's are named "Brandon".
Exonia Uchiha good point
yeah almost every ither generation of stark has a Brandon whether its a bastard or a trueborn, there are exceptions but there seems to almost always be a brandon stark at any given time.
Bran the builder etc.
Bec they are all Bran
Here after ep. 3 and really hoping this is the twist. There was a moment...
When they stared at each other.... they might have switched bodies
Does that mean that bran died in the cave and the 3 eyed raven entered his body ....so its not really bran at all ....😮😮😮😥
What????
that's what i thought, but he never addressed that. Especially cause he says, i remember being Bran Stark, I remember what it felt like. But i dont know if its bran anymore i dont think he is.
hmm interesting
Meera said so
Whoa
I think it’s the other way around. Bran is the three eyed raven with the ability to Warg. He could have traveled back in time to get inside the night king’s body, which explains why he didn’t kill Jon, because he knows Jon is the song of ice and fire and the only one that can kill him. And the reason he couldn’t get out from the night king’s body is because he stayed too long in the past. In the words of the OG three eyed raven “it’s beautiful beneath the sea, but stay too long and you drown”
I think Bran being the Night King is almost obvious at this point.
Idk if I understood that wrong, but if the NK is actually Bran's soul in the NK's body, then why doesn't he just "kill himself", or just stay beyond the wall, and why should he kill so many people incl. innocent children and his uncle?
@@impala-op4xo I think people have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too simplistic a view of the Walkers. To assume that Bran would or should kill the Night King is to assume that Bran is "good" and the Night King is "evil", and I think it's silly to think that's the story we're getting.
I think it's way more likely that we'll see the WWs as sympathetic figures by the time the last episode (or at least the last book) comes around. There's still MUCH to be learned about their motivations.
@@impala-op4xo maybe they've just swaped their souls so Bran's is in the NK's body and NK's is in Bran's .. so Bran in the NK's body needs to go in the South to fight the NK in Bran's body ...

I'm so glad you referenced the Sixskins prologue. I thought it did a BUNCH to foreshadow the fates of Arya and Jon, and provide insight into Greenseers and Skin Changers. It also demonstrated how immensely difficult it was to jump into a human, but I never put it together with the Night King.
You know how Bran was told he'd never walk again, but he would fly? Are the Ravens too obvious? Could Bran die and move into one of the Dragons?
generalPWNS bran never seemed to have an issue warging into holdor... but then again maybe holdor doesn’t count as a true person 🤔
Maybe Bran could warg Hodor without issue because he had already done it while Hodor was a child 🤔 first time around Willis rejected the intrusion of Bran into his body and he became Hodor!!!
generalPWNS I don't think so. Dragons are living fire, and embody magic. Not only this, but dragons seem to have a connection with their user similar to warging in a way, but different too.
Jenny Whitehead I was just thinking about Holdor going insane during Brans intrusion as well. But this leaves me with many questions- Holdor wasn’t being warged. So how would that be foreshadowing the difficulty of warging a human? For example, Bran had far more interaction with Neds timeline than Holdors. Why wasn’t Ned driven mad? So I’m not sure this is evidence of the difficulties of warging into another human. However, this may be evidence of the dangerous power of the three eyed raven and explain why Bran was able to warg into Holdor later (or earlier?) - his mind was already broken by the adventures of Bran and the three eyed raven in full circle.
Ava Della Cece A dragon is not a slave. Dragons don’t have “users”, they have riders.
the nightking is just misunderstood The Night King is the most powerful entity in Westeros but people forget he was once human and may well remember that life and something in that old life may be the very reason that he had set about on this war campaign.
Just like Dr pepper ;)
He just wants a family. A big family.
What makes you think that?
The NightKing had a human life before he was converted, in that life lies the reason for his war campaign..not just convert the entire world to undead.
Could it be Daeynaers' father?
What if Bran wargs into the Night King and takes his own life? :o
🤯
It'll create the paradox similar to how hordor died but the night king will jump back to become the night again
Was just going to post something like this. I like this idea. Self sacrifice for the living. Or perhaps he could lead the dead back north. Stoked to see where all this goes.
Interesting idea. He will fly again, so maybe after he wargs into the Night King, he'll then warg into a raven, and then the whole cycle will repeat.
I assume you can't warg into another First Men.
I always thought that Crastor's sons were for a different purpose than his white walker lieutenants. They were infants, and the white walkers were ancient-looking. We've seen nothing to suggest the infants' growth were accelerated, and it's reasonable to believe the opposite; living on as a wight in the extreme cold probably affords extreme long life and resistance to decay. I suspected they would be used in some way for the NK to live on anew were he killed, or leap-frog through time if his current form gives out from extreme age, etc.
Faffy Waffle EXACTLY what I was thinking! He is taking babies to use as potential vessels, and from specific bloodlines so that if he does lose his current form, he will not be restricted to a normal/powerless vessel (this would explain why we never see/hear about him taking Wildling babies, only Craster’s, who is potentially the son of Bloodraven)
Hey TT. Who is your favourite GOT character. My favourite is the Night king, rightful King of the Andals and the First Men, lord of the lands of always winter, the bringer of winter and the ender of summer, the freezer geezer, the man with no chill, the silent killer, the wall buster and father of Craster’s sons.

Maybe the Night King controls everything what is dead, and Bran and the other "alive" characters could control the living. It is divided between them and no one can shift that.
It is symbolic just as the winter's approach to King's landing and the Night KIng's wall breakthrough happening at the same time.
The balance of life and death, or in other words the nature of duality.
András Szőke the NK sent ravens that were alive
"You'll never walk again....but you will fly". NK in Bran's body upon Viserion?! Possibly.
Or Bran in the NK's body upon Viserion. Lol
Or... Maybe using ravens...
Then turns around and eats the night king. CREDITS.
I've always believed that Bran is the night king. Bran has been warned not to stay in the past too long. He was warned twice. That's heavy foreshadowing that Bran will be trapped in the past at some point during the series. I think he will warg into the man who had the dragon glass plunged into his heart. Bran is going to try to alter history I think. Great video!
This was very eye opening hadn't read the books yet and this explained a lot of the things! Thanks a bunch!
As always,great work.Thank you.XO
One thing, I don't remember the show actually saying or proving that the the guy strapped to the tree was the actual night king? I thought the white walkers were created before the night king. Also the look on Brenden rivers face before leaf stabbed the so called night king in the heart with the dragon glass was a bit alarming... I still think the night king either made or has something to do with the three eyed raven creation. I think the night King has a piece of his soul inside the three eyed raven. I have been saying this for a while. Also it's widely speculated that the night king could pull a "six skin" and warg into someone else, possibly causing the effect the woman had resisting six skins warg(before he died) and clawing their eyes out, what if whomever if the night king did warg into happened to resist the warg by clawing their eyes out and biting their tongue off? Since the prequel will be about the long night I suppose we won't get too much clarification on the person or Stark the night king was, that's story material to bolster the prequel. We may also see the origin of r'hellor/Lord of light(through Naomi Watts character with a secret) and finally find out who and where the actual three eyed raven came from. 🤷🏼♀️ Just saying 🤷♂️
I think you're on to something with this. I've also felt that 3ER and NK are connected either through blood, in their creations themselves, or maybe 3ER was colluding with NK. I only mention the collusion point because I was always puzzled as to why when Bran woke up and grabbed the roots right under 3ER while everyone was asleep, the first thing he saw and first place he went was full of wights, white walkers, and NK himself. Why would Bran immediately go there and not anywhere else when he grabbed the roots right under 3ER? It's almost like NK was waiting for it and knew where to be. Sounds better and makes more sense in my head.
@Talking Thrones , what are your thoughts on this now that we've seen episode 3??

I’ve watched this maybe ten times and love it more every time I see it
you will never walk again, but you will fly (on a zombie dragon).
The Night King walks so that was always a bad theory.
I think the Night King will take John Sow's body without others realizing and will plan to sit on Iron Throne without war. And the only person who could find that out is the one familiar with the no face God.
I think it's possible especially since Bran's personality seems to be disappearing. It is almost like he's being wiped clean for something else. However, there is another theory out there that says they won't kill the Night King, but heal him with green dragon glass. I think both could be true.
I see absolutely endless possibilities i cant even begin to weave here
Maybe the Night King enters Danis body, and Jon kills her? 🤔
Indeed. It has already been foreshadowed that she will die and this is probably why.
Its pretty dark since she is supposed to be younger in the books (so I am told).
If they night King converts a baby into a white walker does the baby remain a baby (seems like a baby whitewalker is not useful) or does the baby "grow up" into a white walker adult? I thought the white walkers were "frozen" literally and at their current body age level. Is this a silly question?
Maybe those babies are stand-by bodies for the NK to jump into.
I don't think it's silly. TT actually addressed this in another video, though I can't remember which, like what happens to all Craster's male babies that are turned into white walkers?
It's a really good question that needs a definitive answer. Not sure if the show will ever address it tho. I assume they grow up quickly.
@@karenbaumgartel6077 Did they even show us they really become WW in the future? I don't think so, we've just figured it out ourselves, right?
@@Adell1721 I felt it was pretty clear when they show the WW bringing the baby to the Night King and he touches it's cheek and then the baby's eyes turn icy blue. But I have the feeling TT is right: the series probably won't have time to show what happens to the WW babies (unfortunately!)
Your theory is a trip ... very interesting. And not one I've heard before.

Actually, he didn't just die immediately, he got pierced in the stomach, not the heart, so he used his last seconds attacking Jon with the eagle. Once he died, the eagle flew away.
nope in the books it is clearly stated orell lives on in his eagle, it is even explicitely said that whenever any skinchanger dies a part of him remains in his animal wheter he chooses to live on in that animal or not
also the eagle did not fly away in the books it kept stalling john untill Varamyr six skins takes over the eagle, and from that moment on Varamyr starts hating john because of the part of Orell in the eagly that hates john, Varamyr even tells this to Mance Rader.

Remember Crastor's 100 infant sons which were given to the Night King as a sacrifice? I think its possible he accepted the sacrificial infants as a means of transferring his soul, memories and powers to if his body is destroyed. If the infants are in some sense still alive they could grow up into men, if the Night King's body is destroyed then, there you have it Night King reborn.
I like that idea that the infant sons are just more Night King's that will grow up
@@Missshantel1 You misunderstood what I said. What I meant by what I said is that the infants could be host bodies for him to transfer his soul, memories and powers into when his body is destroyed.
The infants would have to grow up to become functional host bodies when his current body is destroyed. Since there are a hundred of them he could transfer himself a hundred times, that's if his powers could work like that.

I think your theory of the night king entering Brann's body at death is very possible! Sounds plausible -- could very well be!!! Love it - love your channel too!
Very conversational!
I watched a video about the prequel for the Age of Heroes period 8,000 years earlier....Age of Bran the builder and house formation. I am doing a little reading on that. Hard to wrap my mind around
Talking Thrones What if what the Night King was promised is the son of Ice and Fire. The son of a Targaryen and a Stark a.k.a the Lightbringer. What if the Lightbringer will bring the end not by fighting and killing the Night King but with providing him with a body compatible to him so that he can be lifted of his curse and return back to his normal self. Ending what the old children of the forest had started. That would be a really good reason for him to be preparing his assault all these years so that he can take what was rightfully promised to him. Also a very good reason as to why he would favour Snow and why he was waiting for the moment that he would be providing a son to begin his attack.
My theory was that Jon Snow would sacrifice himself/volunteer to become the new Night King, but your theory is an even more amazing concept. However, another commenter raised the fact that the one white walker Jon killed, really was trying to kill him. So if he had succeeded, Jon wouldn't be alive for the the Night King to use his body, to become human again.
@@MrsDeeDee313 Maybe it was a test(although I doubt it), but from what I understand, the Night King doesn't have full control or shared vision with all of his wightwalkers or zombies. He controls them as to "Attack" but not as to "Left swing","Grab" etc. If I am not mistaken Jon was the first one to kill a wightwalker. Maybe that was what alerted the Night King that Jon is alive. He might have felt that Jon was alive but was probably not too sure. Image going on thousands of years, doing your own thing in the north and then one day one of your elite troops(who are practically immortal) dies. He probably thought "This is it, the time has come. It can only be him". Look at his face as he looks down to Jon who had just killed the Walker. It doesn't feel like anger or fear. More like interest and satisfaction.
PS: This is probably wrong and it is just theories for fun :P

My little sister asked my theories about the new season... 2 minutes, all of your ideas. It was great
Wow very interesting theory... What if Night King has alredy "changed" into someone else and we see him as he is now but it's acttualy someone else...
Great idea, yeah like nk is being warged from the land of always winter by the man who is stabbed in the chest with drag glass and he's being supervised by the children. Damn now that'll be mad or something like that anyway!
Someone else, like...like the first night king ever...! Uou!
what if by chance the night king is able to take winterfell and the big twist is it is actually an ancient white walker temple(kinda like ancient valyria&Targaryens)under the crypts and is able to perform magic unseen before by the canon or tv show, and by extension another twist could be that the night king is actually an old Stark King of Winter finishing the war he sought out 8,000 years ago to take his ancestral home or maybe to recover something to protect him from an impending threat further north we haven’t seen or heard of yet i’m going off on a tangent lmao
Blake Clark What a TWEEST!
Not sure if everything you mentioned is true, but I definitely think the NK is not the big bad everyone is expecting.
I think everyone will go to war with him, lose the war, lose a bunch of lives, just to find out they didn't need to fight him in the first place because he was just trying to undo the WW "spell" the CotF created, or trying to save the planet, or whatever the NK's goal is.
To lose all those people's live for no reason and to find out there never needed to be a war in the first place, would be bittersweet (just like everyone keeps saying about S8) and it would fit right in with GRRM's anti-war stance.
Blake Clark, Colonel Sandor... You are definitely on the right track imo.
Great tunes playing all throughout the whole video.
Great video, keeping me held over until s8
I also have a small theory, I don’t think Jon ever truly finds out he’s a Targaryen, the north have always hated the Targaryens since Roberts rebellion, yet Jon was a statue in the crypts of winterfell but he is part Targaryen, none of the northerners besides Ned would do that because he accepted Jon the way he was even as a Targaryen, I don’t think Jon truly finds out about his heritage because of this
half stark. he already proved everything to the north. they wont waste any time debating the north acceptance. Sam will be able to tell him and also other secrets from the citadel books
But can the Night King maintain all of his powers if the vessel he tries to skin change does not have those abilities? As it is Bran is the only person near his level of power. I feel like the Three Eyed Raven is replaced, and so is the Night King. It almost seems like the Three Eyed Raven must be immobile as both Bran and Bloodraven we’re both unable to walk. So it was always destined for him to take that fall. So I say all that to say this, as things go, it seems like someone of a particular lineage or someone with particular qualities or skill set has to be the Night Kings replacement. I don’t think he will die. That dude has already proven to be well beyond formidable.
Watching this just before S8 E5 - I can't believe how accurate your theories are...
Very informative!
I think bran might just surprise us... not sure how tho 😅😅😅😅😅
Maybe he isn't a cripple °~°
he'll walk
he'll FLY !
By having more than two scoops of raisins!
Frank daTank 🤣
I like the idea of the night king leaving his body to skin change into bran, if this is to happen would that mean Jon snow has to kill bran? This could explain why bran has almost emotionless since his return from beyond the wall? Maybe he already knows what has to be done and that he has to die at the end of the war by the hands of his own brother(cousin)? Or what if the night king changed into Jon snow but it isn’t shown till the last scene of Jon where he’s sat on the iron throne as the camera closes in on his face his eyes turn blue.....
This is a great theory. And, could very well be what the Night King can do. Move to another body; however, why hasn't he done that previously? Great video as usual!!
I do believe you are on the right track. Maybe if the night king enters Bran's body he would finally be able to talk and let Jon and the others know what he really wants or needs. Or be able to tell them what the original packed was about and how they maybe able to help him find somekind of peace between them (Jon and company) and for himself. IDK just an idea, what do you think? Thanks for all your hard work on the videos you bring us. Your's are always my favorites.
Maybe Bran flying is him entertaining the ice dragon and fighting with the other dragons to defeat the King
update: he's just some freezing cold mute who got killed by a little girl
Love your channel, can you do a video of the characters who will survive the Great War?
you said something that really just made me think of an ending that would piss me off. what if they deliver the final blow to the NK but he body jumps, they all think it’s over and stuff , then the body he jumps into, opens their eyes and you see Blue and the show ends.. i’d be sooooooo pissed. shows love to leave stuff unanswered like that.
The knight King is a Targaryen. He can walk through fire and ride a dragon. He’s captivated by John also (who is also a Targaryen). Maybe that’s why John says “you don’t understand”. Maybe John senses a connection.
So the nk and deanerys will end up together? Ice and fire?
Interesting, I just mentioned that the NK might worg into Jon & Dany's child (if she is pregnant).
you don’t have to be targaryen to ride a dragon
Never said you had to be Targaryen to ride a dragon.... just that they do in the movie.
Melissa Hanes the other white walkers can walk through fire, and he never walks through it he just extuingeshes it momentarily in that space
I think he's a Stark. I think the Stark bloodline is mixed human and White Walker, which is why the Starks do so well in the cold and other things.
hahahaha!
You're simply the fooking best!
✊😉😁
