2021 Canyon Stoic Long Term Review // Hardtail of the Year!!

  • Here’s my full honest review of the 2021 Canyon Stoic after riding it for an entire season. Bottom line: It's FREAKIN AWESOME! However, there are some things to be aware of and some upgrades you'll want to make. Watch this video for those details. Subscribe for future videos where I'LL KEEP PUTTING THIS BIKE TO THE TEST! Links below for the upgrades I bought.
    My name's Tyler and I love mountain biking! I live in the Midwest United States (not typically known for great MTB riding) and I want people to know that us riders here in the Midwest are awesome too! We don't need huge downhill trails to have a good time! I just got a brand new 2021 Canyon Stoic 2, and this bike has got to be the best hardtail of the year! At least for the price. So I'd at least say the best budget-friendly hardtail of the year! I'm stoked to be able to share it with you guys. I'm also stoked to ride it this summer and let you guys know how it goes!
    If you enjoyed this video free to like, comment, and subscribe. I really like making these videos and would be so pumped if the channel grew!
    If you live in Southwest Michigan/Northwest Indiana (or really anywhere in the Midwest) let me know. I’d love to hear about any awesome mountain bike spots that you know of.
    Cheers!
    Tyler

    • @MidwestMountainBike
      @MidwestMountainBike  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi, thanks for watching! it’s been fine on rocky sections. it’s got good geometry and a 140mm fork so that helps. A full suspension bike would be better for super rough stuff, but yea I think this is the best bike you’re gonna find for around $1,000!

    Awesome shimano breaks??? Ahahaha. You probably kidding me! This is a decent frame, for sure, good geometry, good value for money but components are just shit.
    But you can't use it without new breaks, dropper post at all... Grips, saddle and drivetrain can be used, but they would always bother me. I don't know for sure, I have a new version of Stoic 4 with DT Swiss rims and didn't put my hands on Alex rims, but I kind shy to trust them as well especially after Enduro Magazine test review where they say tyre went of the rim at some point of time. I believe it doesn't happen for you if you don't ride technical and maintained decent tire pressure.
    Stoic 2 now in Europe costs 719 euro which is very hard to beat. But with only necessary upgrades (200 euro dropper + 250 euro breaks set) you end up with 1150+ euro.
    For 1450 (just 300 euro more than Stoic 2 with upgrades) euro you can get Stoic 4 already with dropper post, decent breaks, RockShox Pike!!!!! fork, better stem and DT Swiss weels!!!!! and good 12 speed wide range drivetrain!!
