Splendid performance of the Bach, it was such a pleasant change to hear the Prelude played at the correct pace. It is often rushed. I heard every note. The same could be said for the Franck. Excellent registration throughout. That is a difficult piece. You are very talented Nathan, keep it up and you will become world famous.
Interesting to hear the new Lively-Fulcher. Many ranks of the previous M.P. Moller instrument are now in the instrument that I get to play every week and the other instrument back in the gallery, including an uncommon 16' Erzahler, Doppelflute, and Harmonic Trumpet, with the last two on 8 inches of wind and making a serious effect in the space and extravagant acoustic. Wonderful playing as well!
Congrats. ! The organ sounds like a big improvement over the thumper one that was there in the 1960's. It was to the left of the altar, up on a balcony. Mr. Stewart was the organist. I served Mass there and went to school down RI Ave. at Calvert School. Thanks to the nuns who somehow managed to educate this willful brat. Pre-ADD elucidation, Sr. Marie Therese: "William, you're lucky your head is attached." She was really smart and I learned a lot from her. Thanks for the reminiscence and for your excellent performance! Nice selection of music which shows off the organ. I first heard a pipe organ at St. Matt's in 1961, and have been smitten with organ music ever since. Could feel the pews vibrate with the pedal pipes. Totally magical.
Would love to hear Chorale # 2 which is my heart, soul, geist, corazon, coer, .... I wish someone would transcribe it for orchestra like Stokey did with the Bach D minor toccata and the Passacaglia and fugue.
Really marvelous program & brilliant playing! Congrats on your graduation! Not familiar with Rachel Laurin piece & loved it...reminiscent of some Langlais pieces but also in the French impressionist tradition. It's a very atmospheric & haunting piece. Thanks for sharing your program on YT!
this is really great! thank you so much and have a nice day

I enjoyed your recital very much. Thank you for introducing the suite by Rachel Lauren. Lovely music!
