It's oil companies who regulate them and as they have publicly stated in interviews they are only interested in making profits for their shareholders and try to get bans lifted so they can extract more in the coming years despite already sitting on a ton of permits.
The real ones to blame are decades of lobbying and climate change deniers blocking the transition to sustainable renewable energies because that would mean becoming more independent from oil companies and dictators

I mean I believe in a fair trial but I literally haven't seen a fair sentence so far. None of the people sentenced have gotten nearly long enough and the masterminds are free. We put innocents in gitmo for "terrorism". They were tortured til they died. Jan 6 was a terrorist attack. Why should we treat them differently?
I mean, torture is objectively bad and also ineffective. I think we can have justice without breaking the Geneva convention (again). We definitely need serious charges to be brought to maintain integrity in democracy and faith in our justice system, but I think we’re all hoping that the delay is due to the higher burden of evidence for charges like sedition and that the JD will file charges against the highest level conspirators before the clock runs out and Cheeto Mussolini is on the ballot in 2024.
Even worse: ordinary citizens can be 'disappeared' for the flimsiest of reasons (NDAA, secs 1021 and 1022) and have their entire lives ruined but the orange blowhard and his (fox) minions still roam free, spewing whatever toxic bullspit they want with no consequences.
