Wish this was true in the real world. Such a difficult landing when the pilots cannot see where they are landing. I could not do it, no way. A ride in a taxi to the hotel is different from a ride landing a 747-400 in zero visibility. I admire the pilots who have the training and discipline to be able to land in zero visibility. Love all pilots!
Absolutely incredible! The noise in the flight deck is giving me goosebumps as I spent many flights in the jump seat while my husband flew the Queen of the Skies. Just love it!
It’s even more impressive that the design architecture for zero visibility landings was established in the 1970s and 1980s, but it did not see wide scale adoption by airlines until the 1980s and 90s
@John Smith adapted infers change, I think you meant adopted, and you would be correct as the gentleman stated above. Although the tech was available commercially in the 60s it was not heavily adopted until later as many carriers did not feel the need to put it on their planes. The people who wanted it most, as Mark pointed out was UK carriers because of the dense fog that had caused so many accidents in the UK.
pilots are highly trained people And wings are not easily won, But without the work of the maintenance man, Our pilots would march with a gun. So when you see a powerful airplane As it makes its way through the air, Remember the grease-stained man with the wrench in his hand, is the one who put it there!
That was so very brilliant and phenomenal . Hats off to these talented, highly and very professional air crews. Absolutely 💯 spectacular handling these powerful tonnage machines in an excellent and extraordinary manner. 👏..Rightly deserve much appreciation. God bless the Pilots and grant them safe and happy landings.
Reminds me of submarines, there is no window, and at greater than 200 feet -- we normally operate a LOT deeper than that, I am allowed to say "greater than 800 feet" -- there is no sunlight penetration, and even if we had a light on the boat, we only be able to see a couple yards ahead. So we navigate with passive sonar and a lot of math. (I was a sonar tech.) :)
From a former airline pilot.....good fun, thanks for the upload. Related: Really enjoyed jumpseating in Europe and auto-landings during zero/low vis landing at LHR

Great video 👍 amazing technology for cat iii autoland, it must be stressful when visibility is that low great job 👏 very best wishes to you dear Captain ✈️😊
Wow auto land did a great job. I'm sure you were ready for a go around if the soup got too thick. I couldn't see any lights as you neared the runway. Good job!!
Captain was full of experience, so the captain was sure and dared to decide to use auto landing. Landing seamlessly. Captain & FO look quiet once. Very good videos. Thanks Captain Boeing. Cool.

Dear captain. ¡¡¡Incredible!!! our lives are in your hands. i can't find words to express correctly my admiration. I wish you a happy life. God bless you and your crew.
Captain Boeing, this video is the ultimate proof of your skills, knowledge of your aircraft, pride in your work and showing the rest of us of how important it is to fully trust your instruments and your past experiences. Those two go together fluidly, and you Sir, show it every day! I would love to jump seat with you at anytime! You truly show the professional skills, bravery and smooth thinking it takes to land a 747-400 in all kinds of weather.
Absolutely amazing zero vis on auto ILS CATIII landing the B747-400. You are very skilled and the right person at the right instant. Never witnessed such a landing!!!
Very impressive i was just as impressed with the taxiing 👍😅. Couldnt help seeing the parallel between the pilots having faith in the technology the same as us passengers putting our faith in the pilots when we board a plane.
Awesome video ! Thank you for the time in making this cool video !Keep them coming . God bless you and your crewmembers. Be safe out there. Bye from New Jersey. 😊♥️👍👍👍👍OMG!!!!
Hi Thomas, you are a great commenter on the Captain’s videos. It takes more than just a video, it takes a love for flying and a love for sharing. Captain Boeing is the most video we can watch and love.
@@WayCoolDog Good morning Carol. Thank you for the kind words . I agree with you, This Captain has too be one of the best! As for the landing, all I can say is WOW, OMG!
I appreciate the comment with respect to instruments, but it further appeared the pilots were doing were doing nothing more than closely monitoring what the autopilot and automated systems were doing. From a layman's perspective the whole approach and landing appeared to be a fully autonomous operation. It didn't appear as if the pilots were actively doing anything in any "hands on" sense. Am I speaking from a place of ignorance? Did I miss something? It almost appeared like the pilots could have gotten up out of their seats and joined the passengers in the rear cabin during this approach and landing. This seemed like something far beyond actively flying on instruments in IFR conditions.
Just turning 40, I feel the SAME WAY. I try to view aviation now as a hobby vs a dream or passion since I know I'll never be able to fulfill that dream. 😉
@@naturesrecovery4516 for sure. Something I'd look into but I love the 747s and I am so moved everytime I see one. I'm so thankful for videos like these. Thanks for the support x
@@dodoubleg2356 sensible approach. My family didn't have the money to fund this dream when I was younger plus my dad thought it was too dangerous. But ill try to get flying lessons. I think it's was a super hard landing because every thing was dark and you couldn't see anything but the plane landed without much shaking , perfect. 👍👍👍👍
Boeing without a doubt makes the best autopilot system a true triple channel autopilot so you can fire the CAT 3B Autoland, just don't forget the Tech's that work and Qualify the system that these Pilots depend on.
Cat III autoland is useful when the weather dictates its use. The pilots are very much interested in watching the glide slope and the localizer and the radar altimeter. Love to hear autopilot disengaged well after landing. If you know what you just heard it is very interesting. Funny if the 747 required a tow tug to find the terminal and parking spot. That is quite thick clouds truly low to the ground.
So impressive. The most dangerous part for these pilots would be the cab ride to the hotel after the flight.
🤣🤣🤣
👏👏👏
LOL!

Just incredible!!! Was anyone else more concerned once they had actually landed? Lots of faith put into technology there. again, just incredible!!
Lol yea I was watching until the end to see if they'd make it to the terminal ok!
It’s even more impressive that the design

Chalk that landing up to technology. I didn’t not see ANY visual cues while on approach. That was awesome
None are required on a CAT3 ILS.
