- Welcome back to another race day vlog. Today, Ryan took on the East Midlands Grand Prix Weedon 10k, which was one for the books - but not for the reasons you'd expect.
The weather was absolutely brutal, with the heat bearing down on us from start to finish. Despite my best efforts, the scorching temperatures got the better of me. You'll see it all unfold in this video!

Top running, Ryan. Looked a tough course in spicy conditions! Interesting seeing the pace chart as you progress. you go up 8% inclines faster than I'd come down them! #levels

Sometimes you have to have a bad race to really appreciate the good ones. That looked like a tough course and never under estimate the effect heat has on you this early into the summer. I am adjusting to it as well as we get temps from the low 70s in the morning to 90 to 100f in the evenings. All things considered your time was good. Cool video and thanks for taking me along.

That looked a bizarre finish area in a cul-de-sac. I love warm weather racing as it's an extra element to think through when racing rivals.

Well done Ryan, tough but nice rural course.. summer races can be warm but it makes for better evening atmosphere 😎👍 I recognise some names in the top 10.. chuffed to see my fellow Duathlete Phil Melling get the win.. his first in the league. 😁👍👏
Thank you 👊 it's definitely a nice atmosphere but mainly for the spectators 😂 I like a cool 10 degrees with light drizzle 😂 yeah this league seems to have a different breed of runner in it so I'm definitely getting out through my paces 😂 thank you for watching 🔥

its a very honest course but the heat there that night was horrible. probably the hardest race of my life...i stopped at 2km and jogged it in. I would love to do that course in the winter as its a proper course
Yeah it's definitely not an easy course that's for sure 😅 will you be racing tonight as that's also meant to be a toughy 😅 sounds like you made the right decision to take it easy as it's definitely one of those evenings where problems could of occurred being in full sun the whole time, thank you for watching 👊🔥

Haha yeah from the UK I think we are pretty tragic 😂 I'd say anything over 20 degrees is too warm to run in 😂 only a tad different, thank you so much for watching 👏👏👏
Same here in South Africa. One do go signifantly slower at 35 degrees though.

Nice video Ryan, I wouldn’t regard 37 minutes as a disaster😂 Most people would be delighted to do sub-40 in the heat. Who was that guy who flew past at the end? These older runners, still super competitive💪💪😊Great graphics, nasty hill from 4K😩

You still ran well, though. It's never nice when people come past you in the final few k. But it's another race done. the body will get better with racing in the heat after this one. Roll up the sleeve and go again. Was that your mum in the video again? In race kit but not racing???? Lol
Haha it was her indeed 😂 she was just wearing it for a little jog whilst I ran the race, you went to around 3/4k to take photos 📸 yeah I guess it's something to learn from and at least it's another race ticked off and at least in this one there was actually a water station mid way 😂
