Boston really plays like a well oiled machine. I think they took the Habs a bit lightly, Habs played to the top of their game tonight considering their roster… but good teams find a way to win.
Habs rebuild is looking great so far. They’re missing most of their senior roster and competing with cup contending teams like Winnipeg and Boston. Give them time to develop and build chemistry and I think they’ll finally be cup contenders again in a few years.

Seems to me it's the closest Boston have been to a loss in recent games, with guys like Marchand & Krejci and even Bergeron in spite of his goal having been frustrated most of the game not being able to produce as many clear strong chances as they usually do. Boston only really edged ahead in the 3rd when the fatigue and the absence of major players had more of an impact. One of the biggest areas of improvement for the Canadiens is the overall defence, some have pointed at the goalies but it always was more of a collective effort really, even more so now that Montembeault is living up to his potential. The impairement was in the ability to limit the opponent chances to a minimum and/or make it so that these chances are near impossible to score, so it's nice to see these young guys showing some tremendous progress there. Phase 2 of that rebuild is getting closer to completion.
Good game by Montreal. Didn't expect a 3-2 loss (minus the open netter). Beating Toronto and Winnipeg gave me some hope for this game but I wasn't delusional that we'd probably lose out. All in all, Allez Montréal!

Sam Montembeault is playing pretty well. Not sure if he's even a medium-term solution but it's nice to see. Habs may need to trade for a potential starting goalie soon. A few teams have two potential starters.

Montreal played a good game. Hard to beat the best team in the league.
A historically good team. 38-5-4, on pace for over 60 wins, and 125 points. They have looked unstoppable pretty much all season, especially at home.
