his experience helps. On the first goal, he anticipated that attempted clear and swooped in just in time to keep the puck in the Oiler's zone and get it to Kempe for the goal. He had just cleared it out of the Kings defensive zone and wasn't in a hurry to join the Kings attack. On the game winner he again anticipates the bounce off the boards and times his rush to stay onside and give him an angle to create momentum and space for the shot
Kempe and Kopitar had themselves a game. More of that please.

shutdown 97 and you win. Also, I saw a game at Rogers Palace and noticed that place is really quiet when they are down. I think the Kings took the fans out of it early and that is a psychological hit to the Oilers.

By all means the Kings deserved to win this game, they just outplayed, out hustled, out worked, and wanted to win more. The Oilers also didn’t help themselves much, they definitely came into the game too high on themselves thinking this was going to be a cakewalk. Don’t EVER take ANY team for granted. At least out of this game I know that Hollywood is going to be a STUD.

Agreed, they were a little too satisfied with themselves. That said, Skinner was meh, Foegelle and MacLeod were invisible and Bouchard was an absolute disaster. Goals 1 and 2 were on him. He fumbled the puck all night. Oilers play much better with the lead.

Oiler offense got it done. A couple weak goals on Skinner and a pretty lucky one so its mostly on him this game. There was a missed penalty shot when the players covered it up in the crease but they have a hard time calling offisides so I guess that isn't overly surprising.
@@maekklyn even on replays i couldn't figure out where the puck is, so i have a hard time saying it should be a penalty shot with everything that was going on in front of the net. the weak goals go both ways, the first two goals for edmonton were really weak ones for talbot to allow. no screen, not particularly dangerous areas of the ice.
6:30 insane skate around the net by McDavid, one of the nuttiest passes I've seen and then a monster save by Talbot. Gotta love playoff hockey.

I don't follow the Kings so I was surprised to see him still playing. Then again, he's the same age as Crosby so I'm not overly surprised. Both dudes are amazing given their age.

He's unbelievable. Few seasons back he looked like he's got enough but man, can he play at his age! He is so deceptive with his gliding speed, and his release is unbelievable. You never know where he's going to go with that shot.

This game was a great example of the up and down roller coaster of a playoff series it’s not always a sweep, a game of adjustments, the kings made key changes, they contained mcdavid some what, talbot was better, oilers did great to tie the game 3-3 then next thing you know kings score 4-3, then oilers score 4-4 goes to OT. Stretch pass to kopitar and he wires it in the net. I would never bet on this series it could go either way and it’s way too early and close to call. Oilers are fine. They didn’t play bad at all. Kings deserve the W. best of 5.
this is it exactly.. I'm an Oiler fan, and every time I see Oiler fans commenting how we're sending the kings on holiday or whatever, I just cringe... Pride cometh before a fall.. I hate having our team (but mostly fans) being the butt-end of karmic justice... even when some of us kinda deserve it..

The stretch pass was just luck as it bounced right into his hands off other players but that is how sports work and especially the nhl. It went from an icing to a winning break goal but that it how games are usually decided in OT. A lot of luck for the Kings and a bad goalie for the Oilers. If they clean up the goalie problem then its all just Oilers.

Coming here after watching Lightning vs. Panthers - I don´t have to tell that the difference of a great playoff run stands between the pipes...
Skinner was trying to let in the winning goal - he was leaning the wrong way on the shot that hit the post in the 3rd. Then on the winning goal, he looked like he wanted to go to bed. These games are scripted and most fans are oblivious.

I’m not an oilers fan, but y’all really need to stop making comments like this. These are human beings this isn’t a video game. This is the playoffs, goals are gonna go in. It was a win by ONE goal in overtime, and it’s not like the shots he was letting in were all easy saves, the kings have great offensive players who can score. It’s so harsh and mean to say comments like this after a tough hard fought but unfortunate loss. The lack of sportsmanship and empathy in both the sport itself and it’s community never ceases to amaze me. I love this sport as do many people, and I just wish there was as much love within it as there is love for it

I'm a Devils fan. I don't have a team in this series but I'm pulling for Edmonton to win. Based on the past two years series between these teams, I am going to say that games 3 and 4 of this series will be the games of the playoffs. The Kings are built for playoff hockey and the Oilers have all the skill in the world.
