      Aww wishing you a safe and speedy recovery and I appreciate the kind words! I completely understand! I had one doctor tell me to be on a low fat diet and the surgeon told me to eat whatever I wanted. The issue with a low fat diet is when you get processed low fat foods they’re high in sugar. I just listened to my body and tracked which foods made me feel good or normal and which foods upset my stomach. Definitely take it easy, it’s been a year since my surgery and I feel comfortable eating anything now but definitely have certain foods that still upset my stomach. Definitely contact your dr if you have questions hopefully they will answer 💕

      It’s definitely a hard thing to find information on or there’s generic information like “eat low fat” but people forget to tell you to make sure to read the sugar content on low fat foods as they’re usually high or that supplements like bile salts aren’t for everyone. I personally had a bad reaction so unfortunately I can’t give you a clear meal plan but I can say try to see what foods make you feel good and what foods irritate your stomach. Also when it comes to stool (sorry for the tmi) but I noticed that for myself taking a probiotic helps. Wishing you a safe and easy recovery 💕

      Hi Michelle, I hope you have a safe and speedy recovery 💕 gallbladder surgery is definitely such a personal journey and one that unfortunately is left with a lot of questions when it comes to diet. Sleeping on my side with a pillow helped during night time and not putting direct hot water on your incision. I did this early on and developed a rash so I like to let everyone know so they don’t make the same mistake. Definitely give yourself time to heal you’ve been through a lot 💕

    I had mine removed around 15 years ago. Now I was having diarrhea three or four times a week and having accidents. Had a colonoscopy and the doctor said it was from not having a gallbladder. He gave me a prescription for Cholestyumine so we’ll see how that works out. This seems to be common and it can start years after removal! I would advise researching this in case you develop symptoms.

      Thanks so much for this comment! I recently took bile salts which I feel messed things up for me internally so I always try to tell everyone to not listen to the supplements people recommend online and to always talk to your doctor first. After my surgery I was a little sore ans lost weight really quick then gained quite a bit when I started stress eating/over eating. So for me personally I’ve had to make significant dietary changes and mainly walk or do low intensity activities but day to day I feel healthy and normal :)

I already eat non-dairy fat free oat yogurt with berries and for lunch all I have is some carrots, cucombers and an apple or a few whole wheat crackers but by the time I get home I'm so hungry. I literally got my gallbladder removed today and I'm looking to what I should purchase for groceries 😅 also, how did you sleep? are you a side sleeper and was that ok right after surgery?
    I spent 5 days in the hospital because my pancreas was so inflamed. so they had to wait to do the first procedure and then wait an extra day for the surgery. I'm just glad to be home because I'm literally sore from the bed and chairs at the hospital... they don't support your back at all. I'm used to sitting straight and everything was leaning back there.

      Aww I hope you have a safe and speedy recovery! I slept on my side! I put a couple pillows and always got up but putting weight on my arms to push me up. Also maybe talk to your doctor about getting bile salts or digestive enzymes. I’m learning more about it now but people with no gallbladder need help breaking down nutrients and fat so those help with that but always consult your doctor to make sure it’s ok for your body :) I didn’t start taking them till recently and had gained weight prior very quickly because of the way my body wasn’t breaking things down. Hope that makes sense :)

    Im glad your surgeries went well 😌 I am currently 2 weeks post gallbladder surgery and I’ve been taking it day by day as far as food goes to see what my stomach can tolerate. I had a couple questions, first one being as far as taking digestive enzymes (like the one you showed in your video or just in general) what would you say your experience is with taking them, only because my doctor explained I didn’t need to take any digestive enzyme with my body eventually acclimating overtime without having a gallbladder. My second question would be how you watch your fat intake? Because I’ve been trying to follow a low fat diet as well, but have trouble understanding the concept of each serving size with total fat. For example, you ate a toast with almond butter in one of your other videos, and almond butter in general already has around 15g of total fat per serving, so my question really is do you keep track on exceeding a certain amount of total fat per serving? I get nervous reading labels (like the almond butter) because I’m not sure if that’s too much fat that my body would have trouble digesting since it’s way past the low fat per serving requirement, same goes with avocados because those are also high in fat. Sorry I don’t mean to overwhelm you with these random questions and I totally understand your not a doctor, just like to hear your experience and understand from another person that has gone through gallbladder surgery as well, thank you and hope to hear from you soon ☺️

    • @roshianderson
      @roshianderson  Před 3 lety +5

      Hi! No worries at all, I truly appreciate you commenting! I hope you are feeling better and healing well. I was so sore the first month (Sleeping with a pillow on my stomach and on the side helped) and I was honestly scared to eat certain foods for at least a month because I didn't know how my body would react. I slowly started to just experiment and try foods in small portions. I noticed I felt super full fast when I first had the surgery. When I tried things like almond butter it personally didnt upset my stomach. I honestly didnt read the label on that before consuming it. There are certain foods that I do read labels on (mainly snack type foods). I also dont eat fatty parts of chicken. I use to eat other meats but I mainly only eat chicken breast now because I noticed other meats or parts of the chicken would upset my stomach. For the most part I try to have more lean protein and veggies on my plate when I eat. I do still eat pizza and pastas every once in a while but I make everything at home so that I know what the ingredients are and can control how much of it is going on foods. I noticed eating pizza from pizzerias at first really upset my stomach. Red sauce in general, but now I am 5 months post surgery and can eat red sauce and pizza but in moderation. I did take the digestive enzymes at first but I didnt really notice anything happening or feel any different so I stopped and just take a multivitamin. All in all my diet is now lean meats, lots of salads and veggies, whole wheat bread, gluten free pastas, and decaf coffee. I had to make certain switches or else i would have an upset stomach and the urgency of having to use the restroom would happen. Its different for everyone, and yes like you said i am not a doctor I can only tell you about my experience but I hope it helps :)

      Hi! I’m going to make an update video this week! I showered 3-4 days after but got a rash by my incisions because I let the hot water hit those areas for too long, as for fast food I barely ever eat it but it took months 6 months after my surgery before I had my first fried item which did not set well with my stomach. So I try not to eat any fatty or fast foods because it really effects my digestion. If I do I just have to be close to a bathroom because it messes with my stomach. I don’t take the enzymes anymore but I do take the multivitamins still 🥰🌺🌸♥️💕

    I still have my gallbladder, and have already had 4 attack in 1 month. I've cut out all fast food, no nuts or butter, or oil. Made chicken soup- no oil and skimmed out as much chicken fat as possible, so far that is working, oats with a little honey and copped up fresh fruit as been working for breakfast is keeping me sain. Though I have been going witout food lately just due to fear.. just because of the last 2 attacks scared me so much. The last one was triggered by Scooters' coffee of all things.. so sad. 😅 so im surprised to see after you get your gallbladder out you have to diet a bit the same as when you try and prevent having attacks. Though I have heard, once it is removed the body just needs time to get adjusted then can go back to normal/food wise?

    • @roshianderson
      @roshianderson  Před rokem

      Hi! I’m sorry you’re experiencing the attacks. They are not pleasant. My body definitely had to adjust to foods after surgery but it’s been almost 3 years and I can now eat almost anything. I wouldn’t have thought of surgery but my attacks got to a point where it was consistent pain to the point where I couldn’t eat or drink anything but I would have consulted a naturopath just to see if there were any other options personally. That being said life after surgery without a gallbladder has been an adjustment but it’s been fine 💕

    I just spent 5 days at n the hospital getting my gallbladder out in the reverse order you had done because my gallbladder was really really bad and I was having a really big attack… and then they also suspected my common bile duct was blocked… so I needed the other procedure as well.. but they couldn’t be done together so the next day after surgery I had that done.. and spent the day after I had the drain taken out and Then I was able to go home but I cannot eat fats… of vegetables… they just go straight through me so I am on here (also a nursing mamma(asked for a pump in hospital to pump and dump and save what I could (depending on meds) (he’s a year))) looking for ideas on eating.. currently English muffins and chicken with blueberries are the best… not sure how to eat to not have issues especially in the beginning… I know in time I will figure it out but I am an adventurous eater so this is a little challenging I like challenges but I like everything and much verity… and my stomach keeps trying to make me cry every time I get hungry hurts soo bad if I don’t eat right away …ugg I am used to intermittent fasting that’s my biggest issue atm and my stomach wont let me now.. just here looking for ideas to try…

      Thank you so much for commenting, and i am so sorry you are experiencing that. Wishing you much healing. Are you getting enough fiber?One thing my doctor mentioned to me was that I wasn't getting enough fiber. Ground chicken, and salads were my staples in the beginning. Now Ive definitely branched out into eating fats, but it took me time. Do you take digestive enzymes? Every persons gallbladder removal is so different and Im not a dr or nutritionist unfortunately but for myself ground chicken being more lean was a food that didn't irritate my stomach. I also had a lot of broth and crackers. Sorry if thats not very informative, its really. hard to pin point what to eat because there isnt a lot of info out there. I really had to just experiment and see what worked and what didnt.

      Hi! I would definitely talk to your doctor. Personally I was constipated and did not have diarrhea but when I would eat certain foods or drink coffee my stomach would rumble. As for the shower I got rashes near my incisions because hot water irritated that area so I started taking cooler showers and avoided the incision areas.
