I wish my gallbladder was never taken out !!!
Me too...😢
I had mine out in 1996. If I had only known.
Me too I worked so hard to lose weight and now gained weight 😢
I found an enzyme that seems to be helping.
Same 😓 I'm trying to loose weight it's been hard this time around..last year I got down to 173 I'm 5'7 ..now this year I'm 208 I'm trying to get back down in size to feel healthy... hopefully I'll find some tips here 🥰🙏🕊️💪
I had my GB out a year ago, I can’t lose weight no matter what, I have always been small, now I’m 40 pounds over weight, even walking two miles a day, I’m not losing weight. Now I have under active thyroid, was told none of this before the removal, makes me not trust doctors anymore. Thanks for the video
Gosh I’m so sorry that’s been your experience! I hope this video was helpful for you.
HOW DO YOU LOSE WEIGHT AFTER LOSING YOUR GALLBLADDER?
I have been trying for over 8 years!!!😭
I keep asking, nobody can answer me.
Same question. I keep gaining weight after my gallbladder removed 2 years ago. I do regular exercise, I eat small portions and just 1 meal a day. But still, I'm gaining weight.
Same 😭
@@SuzyQ1956 same here, if you find out anything that works, please let me know
Oxbile salts.
Thank you for this video! I make gallbladder vids as well and have been experimenting with foods and this is such a helpful video! I’m 18 months postpartum and with no gallbladder I’ve been trying to find how to lose weight type videos that cater to my situation 🌸🌺♥️💕
@Z R.Y aww thank you 💕
I am amazed how many people I talk to who have been on Proton Pump Inhibitors, PPI's for YEARS (I was on them for 30+yrs, but am finally off!) who at some point then have to have to have their gallbladder removed and then continue to have weight gain and unable to lose, severe diarrhea, Gerd and other digestive issues for the rest of the lives! (Several have then had pancreatic problems!) I know it's all related! But I'm not a doctor or a scientist.... There has got to be an answer! I know PPI's are NOT the answer to stomach acid and/or GERD! I had my gallbladder removed in 2010 and I have struggled every since! Thanks so much for this video.
Just found this! I meet a surgeon tomorrow to schedule gall bladder surgery due to stones and attacks. I’ve gained 80 lbs in the last 2 years dealing with this gallbladder despite great nutrition. I’m looking forward to my body releasing all this weight and I hope I’m not living in fantasy land!
Where to begin ?? I have no gallbladder since 07. Never bothered me much til now. The best way to describe how I feel is this. I feel like I had a gastric sleeve and ate way too much so I’m in pain. I’m bloated. Constipation. Like my stomach has closed up and yells no food please. I just started taking oxbile. My doctors haven’t helped much. Where do I start. What food do I eat and avoid. Please help.
Thank you so much for this video. I have to have gallbladder removal. I love intermittent fasting and i think thats how i got stones. I plan to continue fasting after removal. My body is used to eating this way for 8 years. But i have recently cleaned up my diet better this year. Lost 50+ lbs low fat moderate carbs and eliminated junk. Unfortunately my gallbladder is already messed up, so it has to go. My thyroid has always been fine and blood work good so idk how this happened 😢
I want to continue intermittent fasting after gallbladder removal.
Same here, I lost it doing IF. I slowly built up to 12 hour fasts without an issue after gallbladder removal.
How do you feel about oxbile? Or gallbladder enzymes?
Since surgery in november of last year i have lost 15 lbs but like this woman said it is a uphill climb and not easy but i habe been losing and feel great ... Thanks for this vid it has also answrred a lot of my questions for some issues
Glad it was helpful!
Found your video very useful Dr , I am a 32 year old women, got my gallbladder removal surgery done a month back, I suffer from pcod and trying to start family, my gynaecologist wants me to lose 20 kgs, could you pls advise diet after the surgery that can aid weightloss also. Waiting for your reply.
Hi. My gallbladder had to be removed with 28 small stones inside it at the tender age of 16. I never had any real problems ever since. There is only one issue: My doc told my parents back then I might not be able to digest either eggs or grapes or raisins. Years and years have passed, I am healthy and happy, but the doc was right. Grapes and raisins are very bad for me. I tend to get pain right there, where the gallbladder used to be, if I eat them. Not a problem, I never even miss them. What could I complain about? The surgeon´s sewing skills
ought to improve, - I can still see that tiny, thin scar.- So, pls do not worry in case your gallbladder needs to go.
I am 15 and my gallbladder is removed 3 mouths ago with 24 stones 2 of 14mm and 1 of 12
And 21 small stones
I am 71 and had my gallbladder removed at 13. I made history at my local hospital. I have never had any issues and can eat everything...even my beloved Vegemite. I fast 18/19 hours per day and eat a low carb diet but weight comes off at a snail's pace. Could there be a connection? Cheers! 🐨
I had my gallbladder removed a month ago, and I am still struggling with digestion, luck of energy.
Thank you. You’re awesome!
You are welcome!
I had late-stage estrogen-triggered endometrial cancer. I survived but had a lot of radiation, both external and internal and 6 rounds of chemo. It left me with digestive issues and after a few years I had gall bladder pain and the docs took it out. 5 years later 1st stage breast cancer again estrogen triggered. Survived again, but had 5 years of estrogen suppression. I have been off that for about 1 1/2 years but now docs are saying I have developed fatty liver. Each specialist focuses on their exact area but none seem to see the big picture. It just seems to me that the estrogen issues, the lack of a gall bladder and an admittedly lousy diet, too much sugar, refined carbs, proccessed foods... I am now treating food like medicine, not entertainment but I think I need some guidance and so far not finding much help.
It seems like your video is geared towards women.
I'm a 51 to man whose born without a thyroid gland. My gallbladder was removed in 2010 and I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2015. I weigh in excess of 310 lbs.
What con I do to lose weight?
I had my gallbladder removed in my 30's. I'm in my 50's now, and overweight. What the heck can I do now?????
I never had pain with my gallbladder. Just threw everything i ate up. Had some tenderness on exam so they did a scan but was never actually painful at that time. Took weeks to get in for the scan, get the scan, and then get results. By then i had a very dull pain in my upper right quadrant and was so severely dehydrated i was admitted for surgery right away. Mine just failed, i never had stones. However, a few years after my surgery, that dull pain on my right upper abdomen started back up. Its been an intermittent pain for 14 years. Have intestinal symptoms. But all of my tests have been normal. Colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, all clear on auto immune disorders. Literally no answer! Im just NOW learning i should be taking ox bile all this time. Still believe i have a bit of IBS but this upper dull pain is my biggest concern. This week my entire right side rib cage was extremely tender and that was new for me. However they started feeling better in a few days so im not even sure its related lol. I get lots of bloating but my main issue is constipation with bouts of diarrhea once in awhile. Im going to try the ox bile but was wondering if anyone else has had relief from the upper dull pain using ox bile?
Some foods trigger that pain. For me, it was some protein bar. Pay attention. My pain went away after like a year or so. Start taking out things out of your diet.
Gallbladder removed August 2020. Have IBS, GERDS and Gastroparesis. The gastroparesis prevents me from eating healthy - can't digest fiber including fruits and veggies. Some fruits give me terrible heartburn that Beano doesn't help with at all. Vitamin C gives me ulcer sores in my mouth so I avoid foods high in C and vitamins high in C. Recently added bile salts to diet but don't know yet if it will help. I am 100 pounds overweight and need to lose as much as possible. They will not operate on my spine until I lose weight. I've already had a hip replacement and a knee replacement. Other knee needs to be replaced. Unable to walk much because of ongoing knee and back pain. Suggestions on foods to eat? I'd go to a liquid diet similar to what is given via feeding tubes but it's prohibitively expensive and I'm unable to work, fighting to get on disability and am uninsured.
Could you put up a video on what are diet should consist of …. ? I’m 70 & gallbladder removed 3 years ago .

Lost my gallbladder in 2015 after failed lapband in 2015. Also have
PCOS, off of BC after over a decade, & trying to start a family @33 with hubby. Phantom pains when I consume too much bad fats. And now I’m heavier than when I got the lap band 😠! BUT I know a balanced diet full of greens, lean meats & healthy carbs/fats work, along with strength training, yoga & dance classes (for me). Lost 35lbs pre covid, so now I have to bounce back with no BC in my system. Looking through your vids, books & program. Great content! 🙏🏾
Wow! You’ve been on a journey! Hopefully this info is helpful for you!
Might not be phantom you might have gravel in bile duct...I did.
I don’t have a gallbladder and I have been gaining weight ever since I had it out. I eat keto/ carnivore. I do not have gut issues but weight gain is my issue. What is the best diet for this problem?

I been gaining weight, And. Cannot loose weight
Hey I would love to get in touch with you. I have no gallbladder ( was removed at 10 months post pregnancy) and hypo thyroid. I have gained so much weight ever since no matter how much I workout. My body's behaviour towards food and workout, has completely changed after the removal. Can you please help ?
@@mikevon7858 me too and nothing was wrong with my gallbladder. Don't go to a surgeon unless you want surgery. I've fought all my life to maintain a great figure. Now I look like an apple with toothpicks for legs. I fought so hard for my gallbladder but they finally got to me. My primary care Dr put me on a medication that made me think the only answer was gallbladder removal. My gallbladder showed full of stones by shadowing. I had none. Totally healthy gallbladder removed by greedy Drs.
@@lyndayates7533 @Mike Von I absolutely agree, I don’t even trust doctors now since the GB removal surgery, I was always tiny and now the same, fat and thyroid issues which I never had before, I walk two miles a day, can’t lose any weight, they said I had stones, I wish I had never let them take it out, I would rather have taken my chances on dying, I am not the same, I don’t even trust doctors anymore.
Hi Dr. Westie. I am Anu from San Francisco. My gall bladder was removed in 2012. I have had digestion issues since then. I found I am hypo thyroid in 2015 post-partum and my metabolism was worse while I was trying to loose weight. I manged to loose some weight throughout Later in 2019 I found I have submucosal multiple fibroids. I have had issues with digestion, slow metabolism, bloating and fatigueness. But since 2019 I am having bad cramps and heavy bloating with whatever I eat. I have also gained back some weight and no matter what I do I am finding it very difficult to loose/maintain weight. I even eliminated dairy from my diet since a year but no help. The worst time is the time when I am menstruating as the fibroids cause heavy bleeding plus heavy cramps and bloating . I am an indian and my diet includes seafoods and eggs. Can you please suggest me a good diet. Thanks
This is exactly what I help with in my programs. Have you looking into my 12 week program? That might be a good fit, www.drbethwestie.com/waitlist
I don’t get a period after removal of gallbladder have you ever heard of this? I’ve had blood work done they don’t find anything wrong I’ve been checked for everything and I’ve had a ultrasound.
Yep I have! You likely need more in depth testing done than just blood/US to determine how hormones are actually functioning/being processed by the body. This is what we use:

I had my gallbladder removed when I was 22. My gallbladder was impacted with stones and had emergency removal( it bursted as they were removing it. I am 53 now and have always been fat. I am at my waist end trying to loose weight. I have tried everything. If anyone can give me some advice it would be appreciated. Ty
Look up Dr Berg on CZcams. Watch his gallbladder videos.
I had huge gallstones and ended up with a removal when I was young, I started having issues about 15 or so and ended up having my gallbladder removed when I was about 19. I never got any answers as to why it happened or any explanation of what to do after. So I had horrible stomach problems for a few years after and had no idea why, I just knew it was triggered by bad fatty foods. Wish there was better information given by doctors on this!! Thanks for the info. :) Definitely interesting.
You are welcome. Glad it was helpful!

How do absorb fat soluble vitamins that you need without a gallbladder?
You can absorb fat soluble supplements w/o a gallbladder, because it is such a small amount!
Fasting works great if you want to lose weight without a gallbladder
No it doesn't. The constant trickle of bile makes fasting a terrible choice. The meal you eat to break your fast is poorly digested. Do you still have your gallbladder?
@Samsung Saul my gallbladder has been removed and when i was fasting i lost 20 pounds in a month and a half.
@@jrosten369 How long ago, did you ever experience Bile dump? Or are you one of the lucky ones?
Can we do intermittent fasting with no gallbladder?
You can, but I would not start there.

But when i was diagnosed with gallstones I lost a lot of weight and got skinny, but over the years my stomach isn’t the same and gained weight overtime . Maybe try intermittent fasting
