- New husband-and-dad Jason Doyle is delighted to get out of the house - and even more delighted to go fallow stalking. He and David Wrighthead on to the North Yorkshire Moors in search of a cull animal, with Jason trying out new Ruger and Leupold kit. Meanwhile, David Templar is back with more gundog puppy tips. He tells Ollie Williams what to look for in a working cocker. The news feature looks at how gun licensing departments are reacting to the tragic Plymouth shootings in August, including the shooter who had his certificate and guns removed for, as yet, no reason. Great show tonight, thanks to Charlie and team! There is so much nonsense in the News it is impossible to catch up with some of it so well done on the Fieldsports News Stump. Also, brilliant by the huntsman in Essex. How many dog walkers with their cockerpoo and labrashitsu would be able to hold complete control over their beloved pooch with a fallow in tow? None, I would guess.
On to Dave The Dog. I had one of Woody's (Silvan) puppies. Absolute hunting machine that just wanted to please and was really biddable. Lovely bone and super powerful little guy. Sadly now waiting in the grouse moor in the sky.
Final comment: good luck to Ollie starring in his remakes of 1970's German porn films. I am sure you will do well!

The proposed Ban by France will be the thin edge of the wedge for this legislation . First Wednesdays and Sundays , then what other days will be targeted?
Another great show Charlie and team.........but reading the comments it seems hunters are never on the same page, he used the wrong rifle and the wrong scope with the wrong magnification and shot the deer in the wrong place ......but still put venison in the freezer...can only imagine the comments if Jason had missed. why can't ye all see I'm the only one that can do it right!

I’ve been listening to Ryan Dalton’s podcast. He’s had some great guests on such as Gus Routledge and Megan Rowland. Not every guest is going to be right up the street if Fieldsports channel viewers, but it’s good to gather intelligent perspectives from the wider environment.

You chaps have more power than most individuals. The crushing war on deer stalkers and small game hunters is becoming ridiculous, 99.99% of us are quiet law abiding men and women that pose no threat to society. Charlie, David and all fieldsports guys, as ambassadors of our way of life, PLEASE stop reporting the miscarriages of justice and start properly campaigning to help us!!!
Thanks for this. The campaigning we can do is to try to change the social licence for hunting and shooting sports. That's something that media can achieve (alongside getting politicians sacked). Our campaigning is to produce warm, positive films about hunting, shooting and fishing, which non hunters watch. Our news service also delivers occasions of hypocrisy, inaccuracies and lies, especially where other media confuse antis with conservationists. We're not well set up to lobby government, though we do a bit of that. We also provide the wider media with positive footage and images of hunting/shooting/fishing sports. There's only nine of us. Agree with Jason about the frontal chest shot.When I first started stalking I found this would put a beast down but not out.May have a bad exit or even paralyse but not kill it!Avoid!
There again if the shot goes high with a shot like that and the jaw takes the bullet and the deer takes off without a jaw.

Question : what is it with today's stalkers carrying big heavy rifles and massive zoom scopes? In all my years I have only carried an 8lb rifle including the scope (a fixed 4x Zeiss) and have never had a problem grassing an animal. Comments please?
Not sure, I carry a ruger american ranch and it's extremely light with scope. I have this same rifle in 308 and it's really heavy.
@@TB-il3lo My primary stalking rifle is .308 too, but I follow the adage that "you carry it for a long time, but fire it only once."
If your a softy stick with you kids gun.. real hunters just get on with it

@@Johnny7mm Interesting opinion. Hunters everywhere just get on with it regardless. Indeed, I have carried much heavier rifles, but in Africa where it was necessary. My question remains, why do so many hunters now take to the woods with heavy, 'tactical' style rifles with big scopes to get the job done?
The kangaroos provide an interesting example of what happens to animals when they have no value.... As the ban 'trophy' hunting group seems unwilling to acknowledge, when there is no reason for animals to be maintained they will be eradicated.
