    This might be the most realistic “how-to” video I’ve yet to see. Working on cars can be a real PITA sometimes. Thanks for posting this.

    I like it that you film the entire repair. Great for learning. So fortunate to have come across your channel.

      Thank you for your comment. We don't find it very helpful when you look for a video and they only show you part of the repair, that's why we decided it would be best to show everything.

      Bet he is still trying to fix it. 2nd gen maxima is a piece of junk to work on. I own one and man I hate doing anything on this car. Sometimes I wish I could just take it to the junk yard. But.... it still looks so clean.

      ⭐ Astral Auto Repairs do you have an Instagram account. And can you get to the starter from the bottom?

    • @OnlineAutoRepairVideos
      @OnlineAutoRepairVideos  Před 6 lety

      No, we don't have an Instagram, and the starer has to come from the top, it's not all that bad.

  • @the7.3powerstrokeguy98

    Hey question I have my 05 maxima. Today it did something it hadn't before. It didn't start right up it kept cranking until it did. Battery is week old. Then drove it turned it off and then got back in to my car same thing happened. Only now it doesnt move unless I really press on the gas. Then when I place it on park, neutral or reverse it cracks really lower. Now the TCS off light is on, service engine soon and slip light is on. Any idea?

    • @OnlineAutoRepairVideos
      @OnlineAutoRepairVideos  Před 3 lety

      The very first thing you need to do is get a complete computer scan to see why those lights are on.

  • @Combo223

    Thanks! I have the 06(same engine) and I get a no crank no start for 1-2 full key turns. The car eventually turns on, so I many need to replace mine with a rebuilt one from a local shop. Any thoughts on buying Mitstubishi rebuild kits for OEM starters?

    • @OnlineAutoRepairVideos
      @OnlineAutoRepairVideos  Před 6 lety +1

      Thanks, I'm not familiar with rebuild kits for starters because, depending where you get them, the starters can be really inexpensive. Get a price on the kit, then look on RockAuto.com and price a starter. You just might come out better with a starter from there.

    • @Combo223
      @Combo223 Před 6 lety

      Astral Auto Repairs turns out that on the 06, 5 speed, the starter isnt in the same place as this 04

      Astral Auto Repairs one more question. I've read and heard that a continious clicking coming from the starter might mean a dead/low battery and not necessarily a bad starter? I left my battery at the parts store to test.

    • @OnlineAutoRepairVideos
      @OnlineAutoRepairVideos  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes, that is true!

  • @son_gogeto9128
    @son_gogeto9128 Před 6 lety

    What is holding it in. I'm trying to pull the starter out and it will not come out. I can't get the damn wiring harness out of the way enough

    • @OnlineAutoRepairVideos
      @OnlineAutoRepairVideos  Před 6 lety

      Look around it and make sure you got all the bolts, also check to see if there are any brackets attached to it.

    Does it make a difference whether it’s an SL or SE?

    • @OnlineAutoRepairVideos
      @OnlineAutoRepairVideos  Před 3 lety

      Sorry Marvin, not sure, but I think if the engines are the same, then the starter replacement will be as well.

    Sorry I know this video is old but on a 2005 Maxima it's under the front of the car.

    I AM WILD ABOUT MECHANICS! ....Miss the days of easy access to starters (less complicated to get to) ....without taking off a boat load of stuff to do a repair on a starter.

  • @reinatrujillo7255
    @reinatrujillo7255 Před 6 lety

    Would it be in the same spot for an 05?

    • @OnlineAutoRepairVideos
      @OnlineAutoRepairVideos  Před 6 lety

      If it's the same engine, I would say yes.

    • @LOV2XRL8RL
      @LOV2XRL8RL Před 5 lety

      Not really. It depends if it's the 4 speed or 5 speed transmission. The one in this video should be 4. The 5 is in the front. Now, there are 2 ways to get to it. Under the engine, behind a metal plate that you need to take off or under the battery, remover the battery plate and on the left, next to the engine.

  • @nuggs4836
