#TomCruise #TopGun #RiskyBusiness - Zábava
I would say Risky Business got him recognized, but Top Gun solidified his status in the industry
Yep - 100%
@@JoBloOriginals Turn down your music I can barely hear your voice over the annoying background music that has nothing to do with Tom Cruise
I think this needs a part 2! There are so many "Cruise" movies that have continued to launch his career into the stratosphere. A part 2 is actually necessary.
I promise it’s coming :)
Tom Cruise is truly the greatest moviestar of all time❤ unmatched overseas popularity
If you watch the Bobbie Wygant interview in 1983 you realize how focused he was. He had a laser like focus and his Eyes/Face were absolute perfection. Of course his smile has melted many a hearts. But Cruise's best attribute is his Drive, Anthony Edward's said an in a interview that when he met Cruise in 1981 he never met anyone so driven. "Cruise had absolutely no doubt in himself"
Laser focused right from the start - very true
Legend is one of my favorite movies of all time...
The American version is just perfect in every way, and I still love the soundtrack...
Symbolic and multilayered, the story is timeless ~
He certainly still takes risks while doing his own stunts. And I kind of respect that.
If this man hadn't managed to turn things around after jumping on Oprah's couch. That infamous moment would have forever been a stain on his career, and this would be a "WTF Happened to Tom Cruise?" video instead of a retrospective on his career. Thank God for movies like Tropic Thunder, Valkyrie, and the MI franchise for reminding the world why this man is still a treasure in-spite of all the craziness.
Tom Cruise is without a doubt an outstanding action star and one of the biggest names in the Hollywood. If it wasn’t for Scientology, he would have definitely have won an Oscar or two by now.
Waiting for the next video which covers rain man to atleast jerry maguire. Truly Goat period for any moviestar ever. Rain man, the color of money, the firm, interview with vampire, few good men, far and away, cocktail, jerry maguire.
Bro did al picino and now tom cruise oh god this have been the best week ever
one of the best vids done by Joblo, courtesy of Chris B of everyone's fav icon - Cruise and the one thing I want to point out is knowing Chris B's vdos is how well he covered the highly under-rated 'All the right moves' which I only caught recently!
It is one of Cruise's best....giving the world a glimpse of what a superstar he would turn out to be....and yes another pairing b/w him and the legendary Ridley Scott before he retires would be one fans can only hope for, this is after Mr Cruise stops making comical adventure movies in the IMF franchise.
His 1980’s/90’s run from Risky Business, Top Gun, The Color of Money, Rain Main, Born on the 4th of July, A Few Good Men, The Firm and Jerry Maguire is one of best runs of any actors of just big hit after hit. These were blockbusters when they appealed to all moviegoers, not like today’s blockbuster where they appeal to teenagers or comic book nerds.
Overhyped actor...

@@pjchj3599 Yeah, you got me! I'm guilty 👌
*Hope your channel reaches 1 million subscribers soon! Love your videos!*
Taps is criminally underated.
Hell yes
ET for some reason was never on VHS until 1989 or so. It was never on cable either. Every so often it would be on network TV with all the commercials. Same with the Star Wars movie. As a Kid I know I saw ET in the theater but could not remember much of it because it was rarely played. Did anyone else experience this?
A better title would have been How Tom Cruised to the top.
I love Legend. Yeah Cruise is not good in it, but it's such a magical looking Movie with a great Tim Curry.
Then again, Tim Curry being in anything is the reason a movie gets any praise….
I just saw a still shot of Tom Cruise that earily reminded me of Skeet Ulrich from "Scream."
Nice series great idea for content creation.
32:02 OMFG Why haven't I seen this ever before 😂😂😂😂
All the Right moves is dope
Id rate my top 3 TC movies as Top Gun, Legend, The Firm. I gotta say Days of Thunder and A Few Good Men come in close behind.
Top Gun made home video affordable
Iron Eagle came out before Top Gun. Both great movies.
Homie needs the Oscar. Hope he gets one and not a posthumous one
I still can't believe Coach Nickerson didn't just have Rifleman take the safety in the 1983 Walnut Heights game
32:39 a movie review by a 'professional' movie critic is like an assessment of a pop song by an academic. they look at the object through a lens that no general public uses.
I saw "Risky Business" with my girlfriend when it came out. I think that's the moment I started to lose her.
I can't believe Louis Gosset didn't even get a mention in Top Gun!
He's not in it! That's Officer and a Gentleman :)
Dude looked good in his younger years
😎👍
Goddamn...this video is the perfect example of why i follow JoBlo 😭🤘🏻💯❤️
IF you look at 'stardom' from the 'How many 100 Million Dollar films does the 'star' have or only look back until the 1980s or so lens then you could say he is the biggest star of all time. Doing it that way, however, diminishes the success of actresses like Bette Davis who was the first person to ever get 5 Oscar nominations in a row--she won two. Further, ALL of her films were successful 'woman pictures'. There are plenty of others I could name but I just wanted to illustrate my point.
Not a fan of him personally from what I’ve heard he’s like but he makes a good movie.
If you remade "Top Gun" today, it would have to be a Star Wars movie, with key characters having to be either X-wing, or TIE fighter pilots.
Legend will always stick out for me though, I saw it as a kid and thought it was a good movie
Funny thing about that nude scene in 'All the Right Moves', the bit that had people rewinding the VHS over and over looks like a mistake; you can actually see the shadow of the camera in the shot and the framing looks like the camera was not originally set up to capture what you get a glimpse of. I wonder if Cruise actually knew what would end up on screen?
Nowadays, with Sharon Stone claiming she was tricked into her imfamous leg uncrossing exposure in 'Basic Instinct', such manipulative exploitation would be outrage fodder but, as far as I know, Cruise has never acknowledged it!
I loved him in his early days and when he joined the scientific cult of Hubbard I have gone off him big style
Top gun is good but Maverick is a masterpiece
Oblivion is excellent. Its an allegory about mankind uniting to defeat the NWO. IMO.
No Color of Money? Its my favorite

@@JoBloOriginals I DID find another one you guys made. Very good 👍
I enjoyed Losin it
But not sure how well it aged
Just as well he didn't become a priest, or we'd have missed out on several iconic performances.
I like JoBlo, not sure why this vid does not work. It's really off...
Oh good grief. He didn’t strip down to his boxers in Risky Business. I mean… come on!
I like his movies but am pipe was a steel mill not a coal mine
Why does this video keep repeating itself
mia sara was so hot back then
Still is!
director's cut for Alien is not better
Iron eagle ame out BEFORE top gun
Scientology lol😂😂😂😂
Hes not better than Christopher lee....
Frankly, the Mission Impossible franchise is the only thing that has kept Cruise's career alive and relevant. Top Gun was a great movie. But everything else he's done in the past 20yrs is mediocre or underperformed.
Tom lame lolz 🤣 scientology beliefs lolz 😂
I'd hardly call Tom Cruise the greatest movie star of all time. Since when does box office takings prove how talented you are as an actor? Tom Cruise often acts like, well, Tom Cruise, especially in his earlier 80's movies. Are you really saying that Cruise is superior as an actor to Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, Anthony Quayle, James Mason, David Niven, Harry Andrews, Trevor Howard, or especially Lord Olivier? Honestly, Tom Cruise???
A movie star is not the same as actor and Tom IS the biggest star by far
I always felt Julia Roberts acted only like, well, Julia Roberts. 😂
