    to my knowledge, a public right away, can not be undone, doesnt matter if it passes through a farmers field, back garden, council yard, if it existed at least 15 years prior to planning permission, it cant be rebuked and an alternative path must be installed by law,

    Ardderchog! Watching from Australia...as a young boy we would dare eachother to see who could stay inside sker house for the longest time! It was such a scary building as a young kid! Video da! Da iawn!

    I remember walking that line back to Cornelly. When I use bunk off from Porthcawl comp. But that's another story.

    Another of your walks I tried today. Can’t imagine how isolated a wrecked sailor must’ve felt in poor weather running aground there!

    • @flydriveexplore
      @flydriveexplore  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, it is a bleak place, especially in a storm. Even today with Porthcawl nearby it still feels remote.

    Brilliant video thanks for taking us on this walk - love all of your postings. Having grown up in Nottage area during the 70s and early 80s it brings back a lot of memories. Cheers!

    Really informative and beautiful camera work. Seems somewhat timeless, but perhaps it’s because I didn’t see a car for 10 minutes.
    New to this channel and becoming fascinated with Wales, you’ve got a new subscriber from Maryland USA

      Thanks. That area never gets much traffic but it's even quieter than normal. It did get a bit busier, I passed someone riding a horse!

    Thank you Marcus,really enjoy watching your videos.Walked the Nottage circular route with my 3 boys on Easter Sunday (someone had left 2 Dairy Milk Easter eggs at St.David's Well) and viewed your video at different stages on the way!
    Construction /keep out warning signs still there I am afraid.Quite busy along this route today.Watched about 10 people enjoying the sunshine on the patio at Sker House.I purchased a dvd recently of the history of Sker House (it also shows footage of the restoration back in 1999) from the appliance shop opposite Isabella's in town for just £5.Thanks again Marcus,take care,David.

      Thanks, It's been great weather for walking lately no wonder it was busier. Glad you found my vid helpful. I have seen a clip of that Sker video of the renovation but have yet to see the whole thing. I will take a look.

    The public footpath now runs around the holiday park, it's segregated by fencing. When it crosses The Grove Golf Club, it's not well signposted but is reasonably clear. I use it often, despite the occasional quizzical look from the golfers as I disappear into the trees.

    Hi Marcus. How do you manage everytime you do a video not to see anyone on your route?! Is Iit 3 in the morning and your using CGI daylight?! Everytime I do this route there is always someone

    My hood in the 60's and 70's...Shame about the development at the moor lane/west road junction. Sker house looked far better in her ruin...

    • @flydriveexplore
      @flydriveexplore  Před 3 lety +1

      The house did look spooky in the old ruined state. Apparently, the colour is what it would have looked like back in the 16th/17th century.
