Today I’m going to tell you about the Fuji X-T30 and help you decide whether it’s a good value. I think it’s one of the best Fuji cameras on the market as far as features and value. I will discuss the X-T30 sensor, processor, and autofocus for both photography and video. I’ll show you tons of #FujiX-T30 photo samples, and we’ll talk about dynamic range and low light performance (night shooting)
We’ll see how this new flip screen was implemented by Fuji, and whether it was a good choice.
I will also include X-T30 4K footage and several example of slow motion shot at 1080P 120 fps.
I’ll talk about other features like interval shooting, discuss the ergonomics of the #Fuji #X-T30 as well as the battery life, viewfinder and some things that frustrated me about this camera.

Was on the fence between this and the Sony A6400. Saw your vid and almost skipped due to 28 min but so glad I stayed. WOW! No, clickbait, annoying music, or time wasting. Just straight to the point facts in a logical sequence and didn't skim over the negatives like so many channels do. Included TONS of video and images of different types, and explained things very well that I (a beginner) could understand. Excellent review!!

The 2.5mm mic jack actually doubles as wired remote jack (explained in the owner's manual), which many photographers actually prefer to a wireless or infrared remote. Wireless remote controls actually are deemed not all that desirable because of unwanted interference from so many other wireless devices that may happen to be operating all at the same time in the same frequency range at any given place. On the other hand, if you really want to use an external mic, you can always buy an adapter plug or cable. Selecting between remote or mic is easily done in the menu.

Excellent video. I was considering the newer xt200 since they’re comparable. I primarily shoot nature, landscapes and pet photography. The screen tilt is actually one of the reasons I was leaning towards the xt200. I do a lot of macro shots from under flowers shooting up towards the sky. I am concerned that the xt200 will be more limited when it comes to manual settings. I consider myself an intermediate level photographer and was worried the xt30 would be too complicated but after your video, I need to seriously compare the two.
After lots of time weighing the differences and what was important to me, I decided to go for the in between camera. I just bought the Fujifilm xs10. Mainly because being a senior citizen, ibis was important to me. I’ve no idea how shaky my hands will get with aging and I really wanted that extra stability. The xs10 doesn’t have the cool quick access dials like the xt30 but I can live with that. I do like using the touchscreen and I like that the xs10 has a fully articulating screen.

What's up everyone?! I hope this review of the Fuji X-T30 was helpful. Did you like it? I wasn’t sure I was going to like this camera but it’s a great value. The image quality is excellent and the autofocus is fantastic. As usual, I love the slow motion and appreciate this first attempt at a forward-facing screen (I wish there was an articulating screen).
Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏

Great review, best one I've seen so far! I'm so close to purchasing an XT-30, but I've just been reading Lightroom has issues importing XT3/XT-30 RAW files properly, and Capture 1 handles them better. What are your experiences with this? I plan on shooting landscape photography, and may be going on a 10 day trek through the Andes, so I'll be importing the pictures onto my phone/into lightroom... wouldn't want to spend over £1k on a new camera for Lightroom to not process the images correctly.

Fantastic review - straight to the point of all the important features. I am in the market for a second camera to my X-T3. I currently have the X100F and am in a predicament between this X-T30 or the new X100V which also has the X-T3 sensor and processor. This is cheaper and just as compact with the 27mm pancake on board so that may just sway it. Thanks for a very indepth review and I hope you are going to reviews the new X100V to compare these 2 excellent grab and go cameras

This will be my first non-point and shoot camera. Still floating between the X-T30 and X-S10. X-S10 has IBIS and bigger grip (better auto focus and low light?), X-T30 has the retro dials and I like the idea of flip-up screen. With either I'll begin with the 18-55. Any ideas, thoughts or recommendations?

    • @TechGearTalk
      @TechGearTalk  Před 3 lety

Thank you Steven. The x-s10 is a better camera all around. I normally like the tile screen for photos, but fully articulating is so much more versatile (think being on the side or even portrait mode with the camera low to the ground). personally, I’d grab an xs10 - although the x-t30 takes amazing photos - so it’s definitely a great option.

Excellent and informative video. I still can’t decide though 😂 looking at a used xt30 or M50 as a second camera that’s light and small for street type rather than my large and conspicuous 90d. I have positives and negatives to both and from research know both are great (previously traded m50 for 90d!) but I am totally stuck as to which to get. having not used a Fuji I’m concerned I’ll find it more complicated to get to know 🤷‍♀️ Your video was still a great help as it included so much info in a clear and concise manner, thank you

I got a used x-t30 and think I’ve made a huge mistake! It’s such a confusing camera - to me! I don’t feel it’s that intuitive and it’s fiddly working in different modes such as aperture. Trying to set up and suddenly it’s in P - no idea as I’ve not altered anything as far as I’m aware. It seems lots of steps to just go from aperture of manual etc and I am used to shooting manual. I’ve spent so long trying to set up and get info where I need it easily and to display it’s driving me mad. I understand the photography side but am so disappointed as I love the loom of this camera and was so excited to learn to use it but that’s all gone. I can’t even fit the strap connector I’ve bought because the hole in the side is too small. Currently feeling defeated 😔

I really don't know why people think 10 minutes is a big deal that's what editing is for anyone is going to use it for pro is. Prob.going to use external recorders. Fuji just did a very smart move with quarantine with the firmware and being able to live stream I'm told that you can adopt a charger for headphones I have not had an experience yet but it seems to work out pretty decent. How does the sensor gel with vintage lenses I find Sony does well where Fuji can be hit-and-miss depending on the lens. It's a tough call xe3 for five hundred bucks also and now the Z50 Nikon it's on sale

Also, this is by far the most pound for pound-informative review on a recent Fuji camera I've found. I followed your advice and started on a Canon M50. It is a great stepping stone that brought me back to basics of operating a camera. It was so easy to pick up and go, and I find the manual settings to be a freaking breeze. But in my time shooting with the M50, I started to reminisce on my High School 35mm days and I always used Fuji stock and Kodak Ektar 100.
So now I've been exhaustively researching the X line of cameras, I could be a door to door sales person for Fuji at this point. Although I'm still stuck between the T30 and the T3, this video answered so many unanswered questions I've had on the functionality of these cameras, that 10's if not 100's of videos had negated to mention. So thank you for leaving no functionality stone unturned.

As a rule, I always say invest in lenses over camera body - lenses stay with you forever. There is no wait after the 10 minutes, you just hit record again. With an external recorder you can record until you run out of space or battery life. Hope that helps.

For video, it has better 4k than the M50, and maybe even better 1080p. Again, the M50 is easier to use. Here is a comparison: czcams.com/video/Erh9Ta3rsd0/video.html
