    I'm definitely glad I saw this. I'm leaning towards the X-T30 II because it just seems more powerful than the Sony, plus it can output 10-bit over HDMI for recording to an Atomos device. But the Fuji hasn't got HLG, so if I plan to do any kind of HDR video I have to actually shoot F-Log and grade it on my iPad with LumaFusion (I don't have Resolve Studio yet). I'll probably end up going for the Fuji just because I've shot digital Sony cams for years and it's time to change architectures, especially since Sony no longer supports A-mount.

      I like the Fuji colours, whereas with the Sony you need to tweak the picture profiles to get the best out of it (excluding of course Log profiles and colour grading in post). The Sony also has the HLG profiles that are nice workaround to get more dynamic range without spending too much time grading in post.

    • @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons
      @MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons  Před 4 lety +5

      At first instance, I would say both because there is so much more that goes into a short film than just the camera.
      But if we look specifically on specs and quality, I find the skin tones more pleasant on the Fuji, and it also shows a bit less noise at high ISO. And you can have a headphone output with the USB port. And 10-bit 4:2:2 via the HDMI output is not a bad thing either for a short film and colour grading. So perhaps the X-T30 is a more interesting choice.

      I'm not sure if I understand correctly what you're saying, but I don't see the Fuji a bit brighter. Plus even if it was, it would be very minor difference that wouldn't affect the results (it might be a bit less than 2/3Ev but exposure only works in 1/3 steps on the cameras).

    Another small point: I noticed that you receive a payment from B&H. I do have an opinion about them compared to people who receive a commission from Amazon. I consider B&H a good and fair STORE, I have visited and bought from them many years ago
    I do not like A´ZON the Destroyer of Worlds (Not meant seriously) I don´t do anything against them other than avoiding buying from them, as well as asking my Subs. and students to do the same, and why I have my opinion. What you don´t mention, like 95+% of salespeople on YT is say how much (3%?) and how much total you made in the past years.
    I am only saying this to point out the difference between being honest, as you have been, and complete honesty. I do not expect you to do more than you do and have absolutely against you for doing what you have done. It is standard procedure on YT.

    THIS REVIEW FORGOT MAIN THING IN 4K - DETAILS IN VIDEO. Not all 1080 or 4k is the same. I can confirm that because i own Samsung NX1 which have best 4k and other cameras had 4k too but was way more soft and looked like upscaled.
    You can tell by 120p test in this video that Sony have more detailed video. Bad that authors did not showed us 100% crops of videos so we could compare details.

    • @mixdown78
      @mixdown78 Před 5 lety

      what you want to mention is Oversampling in 4K (also in FullHD). The NX1 was one of the first wich did the full 6K Sensor to 4K internal sampling, which looks sharper then line-skipping etc. The Fuji and Sony use exact same Technology here. In FullHD is more difficult to sample, Manufaktures reach little different results. The Fuji doesn a better job and excellent HD

      4:2:2 , 10bit ??? Rolling shutter? ISO? No crop in 4K compared to 1,2x of the Sony? Better 1080p? 200mb/sec bitrate? The fundamental characteristics for a video quality of the Fuji are not enough for better video??? LITTLE BIT better AF is your only thing that is decisive for video quality? :-D

      Vasko Nakovski Sony has waay better autofocus, can film for more than 10 minutes, has a flip screen, and crop doesn’t matter virtually at all. Fuji has a slightly better 1080p than the Sony but so does a canon at this price point. You’re buying the Sony for its 4K. Otherwise you’re comparing a canon against the Fuji. I think that’s what he meant by video
