    Nice compact camera with great features, but I 'm still not sure why Fujifilm is not adding a video record button on the camera body which will be very good if there is an urgent moment to record instantly before missing the action. I would like to see Fujifilm add this quick video record button in their next series.

    Why there is no tethering mode through PC/laptop in Fuji XT30? When we shoot portrait in a studio, its very important to has live sync & preview on Ad*be Ligh*room automatically after picture has been taken. Fuji remote app on IOS/Android works very slow and unstable.

    Very informative video - thanks for that! The question is if there is any technical reason for the omission of option to customize a Fn button as video record button? It was present at X-T10 (along with physical video record button), sadly missing since X-T20 and I can't find any logical reason to block this option. If it is not because of technical limitations, could it be possibly added to X-T30 (and other fuji cameras as well) via firmware update? Your answer (or even escalating the question/request to higher levels of Fujifilm) would be highly appreciated! : ) Thank you!

    Hi Gord, thanks for your explanation: sound and clear. Which external recorder do you use? Can I use this recorder for storing and viewing my stills, while I’m on the road without computer?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  Před 5 lety

      Hey Peter. You're welcome. Thanks for watching. The external recorder Gord used in this video is an Atomos Ninja V. While it's great for video, at 4K (16:9), it's not really the best option for stills.
      The device Gord uses when on vacation, without a computer, is a Verbatim MediaShare. This portable device accepts an SD card, and a USB drive (either thumb drive, or portable hard drive) and using an app on his tablet, allows him to review the photos and copies them from the SD card to the drive.

    I got an issue which the focusing/hunting sound from 35mm f1.4 lens is recorded when shooting movies. When i payback the movies i can clearly hear the lens focus sound. how to avoid that?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  Před 5 lety +1

      That is a somewhat common issue when recording audio through the camera's built-in microphone. If you use an external mic, with an isolation system (to minimize sound transference), this phenomenon will be reduced.

    Excellent video for first time Fujifilm user, especially coming from Nikon and sony. If I have to choose a kit lens from 18-135 and 18-55 f2.8 - 4 which one is advised? Also for street photography which prime, 16/23/35 should be purchased, since their 35 mm equivalent factor is different

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for asking Rajan. The XF18-135 is not normally available as a 'kit' lens (included in the box with the X-T30). Our choice would be the XF18-55, but it depends on whether you want the longer focal length. The trade-off being the size and weight of the XF18-135.For street photography, again, it depends on your style. Many people choose the XF23F2 for their street photography as it offers the same (semi wide-angle) field of view as a 35mm lens in 35mm film format.

    • @RajanLakule
      @RajanLakule Před 4 lety

      @@fujiguys thank you for your reply. 18-135 is available as kit lens with X-T30. I have chosen that. I was interested in Fujifilm more as Street photography Gear. Probably I may have to think of 35mm f2 as add on for the purpose. I use Batis primes on Sony A7RM2 and Zooms on Nikon D500. Fujifilm is therefore supposedly a different proposition for me. Lets see. @instagramrajan

      Thanks for asking. The kit lens is one option for travel. Another would be either the XF23mmF2 or the newer XF16mmF2.8. Both are compact primes that keep the camera quite small. If you are looking for a telephoto lens, check out the XC50-230mm or XF55-200mm.

      Please describe,.
      Thanks

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  Před 4 lety

      If your videos are only lasting a few seconds, this is likely due to the slower speed of your memory card. When recording video, the minimum card speed is UHS-I U3. Using a card that speed or faster will allow longer video recording.

  • @Highollow
    @Highollow Před 5 lety +1

    Hi Gord! Thanks for the video, it is really informative. I have a question though: I don't understand how you can have an either way 200 Mbit/s output of the camera whereas the X-T30 only supports UHS-I SD cards. Is this 200 Mbit/s only attainable when using an external recorder?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for asking. Keep in mind that video recording is expressed in Megabits per second (Mbps), whereas the resulting files are recorded to card in Megabytes per second (MBps). Note the subtle difference between bits/Mbps and bytes/MBps. The ratio from bit to byte is 8:1.
      The X-T30 can record up to 200 Mbps (bits) to the SD-Card.

    Coming from Nikon I find Fuji very very complicated. Confusing menu systems, not easy to put the camera in various modes, gimmicky touchscreen, unreliable autofocus... I wish I had gone for Sony 6400. The hyped film simulations are nothing but colour filters which any app can do.

    Dear Fuji, Please build a camera without 2300,00000000 menu settings. I'm a big Fuji fan but all these menu settings stops me buying. So a on/off button with some exposure dails would be more then enough. First time ever thumbs down on a camera review!

    Awful app. For those who consider buying a fujifilm camera thinking, the app will be a good thing to have... Don't!
    After building amazing cameras, Fujifilm decided to let their customers down big time. By putting out this awful... thing, I can't call it app.
    Only to set it up on android is time consuming, taking photos and moving files... Forget about it!
    I think when this thing illegally called an app was produced, the guys who where in charge of this, said F#@% this!! Let's go on lunch break!
    Instead of making something that the customer can really enjoy using, fujifilm decided to throw this garbage out.
