I don't understand why they or someone can't come out with a chain drive kit.
Just changed my belt, I had it in neutral, let the machine run, then put it in gear and it died. The original belt basically grenaded itself, cleaned out all the debris and so on. Didn't hear or see anything unusual, should I pull the new belt back off and put in park and reinstall?
If the belt is bad can it trigger a check engine light
If it's causing a misfire it is a possibility. Have you checked what the fault code is?
I recently jst purchase it a month ago so I don’t know to much about them yesterday I was cruising at 35 then the light came on and the car sounded like it lost powers and it took me down to 18 mph then when I went to back up it was hesitant well moving back
Yes, once you change the belt you will need to run it for a bit until yhe liggt clears.
Is it just me or is that a horrible belt system design?
