  • Hi! My name is Anna and this week's video is a summary of 'The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read' by Philippa Perry.
Every week I bring you a parenting book summary or self help book summary - specifically focusing on the best books every parent should buy or read following positive parenting philosophy. My goal is to help other busy parents get the tools and strategies they need to thrive as a family without having to spend their precious time reading a book. Because let’s face it, reading parenting books is often at the bottom of our priority list when we are juggling so many things in our life!

I love it how perfectly you can summarize the books, quickly, thoroughly and even add your own experience or another book. I probably read most of the books you summarized and this is just such a useful reseurce for me to remember it better. Thank you so much!

My personal opinion is that you should always try everything to stay together first (couple counselling, individual therapy etc) and only after all of this should you consider separation. At that point, it’s easy to see that kids benefit much more from having happy parents than miserable ones who fight all the time. But then the co-parenting relationship is very important

@@GrowwithAnnaB I agree. Sometimes its worse staying together. The problem sometimes is that when the couple splits, one or both alienates the child...so what was worse gets even badder. But sometimes It is better...hard to know. That's why que need a good legal system, to protect children sometimes from bad parents.
