I think boxers are the more skifull fighters! There is so much that goes into boxing that people don't understand. I'm a huge MMA fan; but I enjoy watching boxing more because of all the components and intangables that transition into matches!

They do, then, you still have to deal with leg kicks and head kicks and take downs and ground and pound and submissions and knees and elbows. As skillful as you need to be, to be a successful boxer, what MMA does is show you exactly what does and does not work in a real fight. I love BJJ. I have been doing it for years. The level of detail required to do any one move, be that a submission or take down or sweep or scramble, is insane... However, In BJJ, if you're getting thrown by a bigger guy when you clinch, you can just sit on your butt and pull guard. There are lots of moves in BJJ that can be super successful moves like going for legs from half guard. If I try that stuff in an MMA fight, I'm get my face smashed with hammer fists.

I think the best example of a pure striker at the top of their field doing MMA was the Rodtang fight against Mighty Mouse. Yeah, Rodtang looked great in the striking round. And then the MMA round started and Johnson put him away QUICK

I think people are underestimating floyds cat like reflexes. I think he'd actually avoid most of those leg kicks.
