Connor had the wrong mentality about the boxing. He learned that pitty pat punches consumes unnecessary energy. Those rabbit punches might had made him feel good at first, but boxing is partly longevity. And that's difrent than cardio, it's heart and preservation through brutal clean blows.
Another note: Floyd is so smart, he literally knew exactly what Conor was gonna do down to how the fight would end 😮😮
You don't really have to be smart to know Connor is easy to walk down. Anyone that watches UFC knows Connor knows he isn't about long rounds or easing his way into things. He goes in to do as much damage I as little time as possible it's just easier to defend in boxing than in MMA.
Stylistically Connor never stood a chance, he comes in hot and heavy and Floyd defends too much.

Watching this again today man that was such a great freaking promotion leading up to the fight. There will never be two fighters who can do what these two guys did. It was amazing. Not just the fight but the buildup. Only thing that stinks is that it pretty much ruined McGregor’s MMA career but damn he became very wealthy from it. So good for him..
