How?
@@jotarokujo5132why are you so mad over this? You really think his wife wouldn’t have wanted him to win one of the highest awards for his sport?
@jotarokujo5132 you don't think she told him to fulfill his dream?

i'm not crying, you're crying
It just started pouring out😢.
I am. ❤
no not me, you
Nah u are. Idc enough to cry
@TheBigCheeseTP oh wow, big tough guy u are
Saw someone who drew some art of this moment where the ghost of his wife was there holding the bar up with him helping and it made me cry more than anything.
Aww that’s so sweet ❤
You didn't have to remind me because now i'm crying
I’m crying just reading that
That animation gets me every time. And the ending to plague dogs.
❤❤❤
My friend purposely ended his life a while back.
I still text him and let him know that im okay.
I know he wont answer, but I miss sharing my thoughts and achievements with him.
I miss that guy.
I hope your okay brother , head up
Or your crown will fall off king
Bro 😭
This is so sad, take care of yurself, thank you for sharing
June 23rd 2023 my friend did the same. Continue to love them, remember them, and also remember to take care of yourself.

I can't help crying whenever I see this because this is what a triumph looks like. Matias Steiner's wife Susann, died in a tragic car accident and 15 months later Matias lifted for her and won an Olympic Gold Medal in the Super Heavyweight Class.
Can't imagine what he've gone through
Mis respetos
The fact that he wasn’t happy he got the title,
He was happy for the fulfillment of his promise
Ya❤️❤️😥😥
Another amazing fact:
He needed to clean & jerk a weight 8kg ABOVE his personal best in order to win the gold medal and he did.
The pure joy and happiness in his face says it all😭
He pushed and did it for his wife, that’s absolutely wonderful ❤️ may she rest forever peacefully

I watched this live as a kid, it was the most beautiful moment in the olympic games, I've ever seen!
Derek Redmond finishing the race being helped by his Dad with an injury is pretty special too!
Wow I’ve seen this clip lots watching it live would’ve been great
I will never not cry watching this
I remember watching this as well, was really amazed by his effort , it was so moving .
The gym where he trained was in my home town. I met him a couple of times as this is a rather small town near Heidelberg. He’s such a kind and humble and friendly person. He deserves this so much and I am very happy for him he was able to pull that off!
The animation they did where his wife was there to help give him the lift is amazing too. It gets me bawling every time ❤
Where can I find that?
It always reminds me of that, and I immediately cry. It’s so beautiful and heart wrenching at the same time ❤
@@_Muser_ search for Matthias Steiner animation or something, it's pretty much everywhere

Cheating. His wife helped. Deduct points and strip his medal.
He was not lifting for any medal that day. Because he already lost his gold.
Wow nice
😢❤
Beautiful ❤
This comment is also gold. Rembember Boys and Girls. Be happy with people around you. Time is ticking away and someday we all will be No more. Enjoy yourself ❤️
@@ponglo1070he, 'rembember' 😂Hahaha funny
Love it when I go to the comments and see everyone else was crying too. Amazing how we all seem to emotionally connect to the same stories
He looked up and said "Im doing this for you." She looked down and smiled as she reached down to grab the bar, lifting, "No, I am doing this for you."
B r o 😭
We all cried and cheered. But she just smiled. Wherever she is. Because she always knew he could do it

I would have BROKEN DOWN if I were in his position. Fulfilling a promise you made to someone before they passed is the best feeling. You didn’t let them down, you didn’t give up, you did it for them.
Feelings and emotion can push someone that little bit further than everyone else competing….he had the reason
I remember this. 2008 games were on another freaking level in so many of the sports.
fax
greatest Olympics ever. especially as a swimmer, no other year comes close.
So happy for him. You can tell how determined he was to make that promise 🥺
“There were 4 hands on the bar that day” 😭
Stop😭
Goosebumps.
The book series?
I’m crying this is so beautiful 😭😭😭😭😭
He went from crushing realization in to full bliss raving happy in 1s after the lift. That's power of love. He was reconciled with his promise to his love. This amazing to get to witness.
The human race can be cruel, disgusting and oftentimes cold. But there are some humans that outshine all the negative and bring hope to the rest of us. This person is one such example, the indomitable human spirit is truly a beautiful thing
I don't cry often but this actually made me cry
Very inspiring 😢❤
When someone that truly loves you passes, the strength of their love will carry you for the rest of your days and will never fade
Ngl I cried, the photo at the end along with the medal hits hard, it's amazing what people can do for someone else
Genuinely makes me cry every time.
Probably the best sports moment of all time
I remember watching that. It was so emotional. He made his wife proud.
I literally cry every time i see this
I saw the news. His wife was died due to a car accident😭
That is absolutely beautiful.
He deserves the world but his wife was his world😭😭😭
Sport offers so many beautiful moments, it's very sad and very beautiful at the same time.
This is heartwarming warms my heart
The angels from above helped him with that last lift!
He lifted for love, not for a medal. It's a beautiful promise fulfilled.
Congratulations! So glad you were able to keep your promise , I can only imagine how you felt.❤
Beautiful, heartwarming.
I will never forget this moment! I bawled then and I bawl every time I see the footage again.
The fire of love never fades. Well done, buddy. We're all proud of you.
I only dream to find someone I can love that much. I know she helped lift that weight to make his dreams and promises come true.
This makes me cry every time I see it 😭
He lifted for her, and that's truly beautiful. It's a triumph of love and dedication.
This should be a movie
True love. True devotion and superhuman effort. Bravo Mathias !
Unvergessliche Momente einzigartige Erinnerungen ❤
This brought tears to my eyes
Never seen something so authentic that’s pure love and hope
I remembered watching this live. It was very emotional and just awesome!!!
I love that this shows up in my feed every now and then. Gives me goosebumps every time
I couldn't imagine losing the one I love. She is my rock, my foundation and everything that is meaningful to me in the world.
My heart broke to atoms size when i saw that he used his picture, he could have gathered any well printed or framed nicely, but no, he got the one that they had in the room, so touching it really brought tears. ❤🎉
Thats beauty of love and duality of life, love can make you reach mountaintops but also destroy you. Same with losing love but its up to you what you will do with those emotions, let them consume you or forge them in something great.
I've seen the video thousands of times and it still gets me every time. Goosebumps
Er drückte das Gewicht nicht alleine...

How much i would like to be loved by someone like she is loved by him.

Power of the human spirit. Absolute inspiration to all people suffering from heartbreak.

4 hands power that day. An invisible angel just lifted.
Legend says, his passed wife was dancing and crying on the podium silently...she was so happy for him which is more than worth of diamond or gold.... & Yes, love is priceless ❤
I think he asked his higher power for help, then again - adding his wife’s name and a knuckle sandwich!
What a feat of athleticism and beautiful gesture.

The way he was so happy, I don’t even usually cry because of these videos, but this one melted my heart.
When You Cry, It Picks You Up. It Really Picks Your Own Life Up Now. Great One! 🤯🥺😢😭😁❤️🔥
They edited out the bit where the little janitor in blue overalls comes out and moves the weight one-handed, while he mops the floor.
As amazing as Anatoly is, he couldn't snatch or clean & jerk nearly as much

Even though it was a very proud moment for every German, I just couldn’t stop thinking that he promised his wife something and followed through with all of his willpower and strength! Unbelievable and super genuine human being. I was so happy for him!
I started crying, things like this never make me cry :(
This broke my heart and put it back together at the same time.❤
the amount of power in his mind in the moment of the lift must have been insane
There's an animation video of this...

full-filling the promise is worth more than the medal. the medal happens to be a great visual reminder that he kept his word
