@sullfolife darker colours absorb more heat but they look cooler!
One of the great things with the Teslla is you can activate the AC a few minutes before you get to the car, which makes it perfect by the time you get in. So I really wouldn't worry too much

Nice review. Due to wi-fi issues I think I’m 1 or 2 behind - last update screwed up GPS mirror folding; still folds when o enter the alley near home but when I turn the wheel to get lined up to back into my garage (even at super slow speed) they unfold again. Quite annoying.

How do the sentry videos look streamed to your phone in the app? As good a quality as in the car, or highly compressed like live sentry view?
Haven't had a chance to try them yet. By my understanding it's only when the alarm activates but I'll have to check when I get a chance

I'm pretty new to Tesla ownership with the M3H being my first. What's the go with software updates? How come some models get them first and some later? I've got a Dec 23 built Model 3 LR Highland

Congrats. It's pretty random. Everyone will get it they just can't pump them out to all million plus cars at once.
Keep an eye on the app and it will tell you when it's ready for you to download

Hello. Has the Neutral option disappeared from the drive mode bar? How do I choose Neutral?
Not sure, I only ever use P D or R.
You could use the overhead buttons, but there may be another way I just never have any reason to use neutral.

Hi, quick question, does the new Model 3 2024 come with an adapter for the NRMA charges?
NRMA should all be CCS2 which is the standard in Australia and Europe. Should be no adapter required. There are still some legacy CHADIMO chargers around which is not used by any vehicle produced recently, you can't use an adapter for those, they are pretty much useless except for the few vehicles that might still exist that can use them.
If you are referring to chargers that are BYO cable, then no, you have to purchase a Type 2 cable for those, they are fairly rare though.

I’m getting a new Model Y in the next month or so (HW4). Does anyone know if they’ll come with the V12 update? I’m not sure if all models get it, or just the 3s?

Firstly congrats!
New cars are often delivered with a factory version which is a little older, some might take a week or two before they get the latest version downloaded, I was lucky with mine, I had the newest version available right from when I picked it up from the delivery center.
Can you turn the full screen visuals off of you want the map to be larger like it used to be?
Yes
Apparently the height limit on the boot opening is location sensitive, so if you set the height for a particular location, it'll remember that height for that location, so you wouldn't need to set it every time you're somewhere with a low ceiling

Since when? I adjusted it the first time I parked into my garage, and it opened at the same height everywhere...
Do the blind spot cameras pop up the same as before?
I want the left blind spot to pop up on the left side and right side blind spot on the right side.

I have a long road trip departing on May 9th and hope I get the new UI before we hit the road. I subscribed to FSD fo this trip after enjoying the free trial. I was hoping the small media player displayed the time remaining bar. It there now but so small as to be useless.
I heard that the FSD subscription is still v11 for some people
Does 2018 model 3 get all of these updates as well?
The new UI updates are for Ryzen based cars only at this point
Can you expand the map while driving? I mean bring it back like it is on V11. Personally I don't need all the visual stuff while i'm driving.

Thanks for great info re update. Not sure I can agree with your views on auto wipers. I love my Highland but the wipers are a disaster. Won’t start, gets faster as rain eases off, dry wipe etc. Manual only for me. I have 10+yrs experience with 3 different VWs and they all leave it for dead.
Yeah, there definitely are some inconsistencies, but the progress that many are seeing is promising.
What is the Nav app? We don't have that in Canada :)

No, it requires Ultra Wide Band support which the current Model Y's don't have the hardware for.

The wipers and FSD level 5 autonomy will arrive when nuclear fusion is connected to the grid. FSD maybe sooner...
Wonder if the visualisations will be as good or busy with HW3 compared to HW4s as you obviously have a highland, keen to see this on an MY

I have a 2022 Model 3 Perf with AMD Ryzen, i have not received this update yet. However i am based in the UK will this be released at a later date?
Just takes time to roll out to all vehicles. You should get it soon

@@Tesla-Red Yes you are correct, i randomly ran into a Tesla engineer in the grocery store. Of course i had to ask him, he mentioned as this a large update they send out the update in batches simply due to how much the servers can handle

Hey Joules, thanks for the walk through. Can we not keep the map constantly big? what's the point of showing a massive car on our faces especially while driving.. I would get a lot more value out of having the maps visualisation.

G’day. I’m getting my updated M3LR delivered in a couple of weeks, this time with Enhanced Autopilot - for our upcoming around Australia tour scheduled for July. I’m expecting Auto park to be included. Is this not so, in Australia? It certainly is frustrating waiting for the update on my current ‘21 model.
Auto park isn't available here just yet, but should be coming soon. I believe they are able to deliver it outside of FSD12, so just got to wait for it to get approved/deployed here

@@Tesla-Red did Melbourne - Perth last September, and decided to go to Cooktown this year. Then we decided to turn left and keep going. It involves interesting logistics with two dogs, when yr too old to rough it with camping. Big spreadsheet involved. I now have a serious analysis of the Nullarbor charging situation, if anyone is interested, but don’t know where to post it, to be of use. Any ideas?

I'm an Aus expat living in the US. I went back there a few months ago and they are legit living in a time warp. I asked a few friends who have Tesla's "where are the Model S' and Model X's here". Response was "they dont sell those here". Almost fell off my chair.

Disney+ is still there, if you ever used it in the past it never went away, but it did for those who never opened it.
If you do a google search you should find the steps to re-activate it, it's just going to a web page in the car from memory

Yeah our FSD stack is very old and has a heap of limitations currently
What's the big deal about the visualisations? I never use it and would be able to prefer to use that for wiper controls etc.

Tesla is focusing on the customer now, not the technology
They need to focus on the technology:
FSD is years behind schedule
Robotaxi is years behind schedule
Cybertruck has problems
Optimus bot is inferior to Atlas by Boston Dynamics
Also, Tesla needs to address range: Camry Hybrid can go 630 miles on one tank of gas. Then 5 minutes to fill the tank. Tesla is painfully limited, in comparison to Camry Hybrid.

@@Moyai3499i got the update on my late 2022 M3. I think every M3 and MY owner will receive the ui update. Maybe some features are disabled like the adaptive headlights, i think you get the point.
@@Moyai3499 You'll get the update if you have an AMD Ryzen chip. Which yours is a 2023 so it 99% does. Intel chips will get it later. But as of right now they haven't even rolled it out to the US yet I believe.

Based on my driving experience, it has improved a lot.

Do you know if your car is Intel or AMD based?
Seems that this update is going to AMD and still taking some time to go out to those vehicles, I haven't had any Intel based vehicles confirmed to have received it as yet.
I'm assuming they'll do a version for the Intel vehicles but haven't seen that as yet.

I believe it's a regulator issue. They are making moves slowly though.
Also we usually follow EU road regulations and they are also moving slowly towards allowing it
I installed this update this morning but the hands free truck opening is not included in the release notes. Is anyone else missing it from the software update? I have a Model Y so I am wondering if Model Y was not included in the hands free trunk function?
Only vehicles with UWB support which I know for certain includes the 2024 Model 3, some have said that some S and X have it too.

I read the hands free trunk is only available to model S and X
S, X and 3H (2024). Not Y at this stage as they don't have UWB support.
I'm guessing it's only the very recent S and X that would have it. Not sure when they started including UWB in those models.
The fact that this update requires the AMD chip is absolute BS. If the Atom can run Beach Buggy Racing then it can run this. Not impressed.
The UI portion, yes, I'm sure there is a reason for it. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a version for non-AMD. Clearly there is a reason for it.
