You explained this very well. The video was easy to follow step by step. One of the best instructional videos I have seen about Tesla features. Well done.
Glad to hear, thanks for the positive comment!!
Those mountains remind me of the time I visited UT
Yes, that's exactly where I'm at
@@Myksgarage Nice. Awesome area. Way different culture than the East Coast, which is where I've been past 20 years or so.
I just Ordered a Tesla Model Y, and excited to learn as much as I can.
I’m a non Tesla owner and this provided a very good and clear explanation. Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for watching!
As always, excellent real time explanation. Keep em coming. Thanks!
Thanks Derek! I appreciate the encouragement!! 😀
very helpfull didn't know it would stop and pick up during traffic. i just got mine this past monday.
Yeah that's a cool feature!
Very good explanation thank you 👍
Thanks for watching
Yes, this is one of the best videos explaining about Tesla features. You did a great job creating this video. It helped me a lot!. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your positive comment!!
Best explanation of auto pilot!!! Thanks!!!
Got this helped!
Thanks. The best tutorial
Thank you for watching!
New subbie here!!! Well done! 🙌🏾 This video was very informative. I now feel confident enough to utilize the Auto pilot function safely. Thank you.
Awesome I'm glad this helped
Thank you very much for the tutorial. It was very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Yes!!
New to Tesla and this was VERY HELPFUL
Thanks for watching
Very good video. As a non-tesla owner, I now have a better understanding. Thank you.
I appreciate your positive comment
well done!👍
Thank you !
Very helpful, thanks
Thanks!
Stay in the left lane and set speed to like 85mph and you won't ever wish you had (Enhanced Auto Pilot) lol Great video explaining everything!
Thanks Caleb!
Very informative thank you
Thanks for watching
Excellent advice 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
THIS IS A VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO.
Thank you!
Exceptional video. Well explained for new Tesla owners like me. The stock Hankook tyres drift all over the road, so I am keen on some form of auto steer.
Thanks for watching! What model do you have?
@Myksgarage Australian Model Y long range with 19" wheels. I tried your trick earlier today. Worked beautifully. That must be the best feature of the lot!
Excellent explanation; thank you! (New Tesla owner)
I'm glad this helped!
Nice video thank u
yes!
Nice video, thanks! Does your Model S have the visualization as well?
No it doesn't, it only has auto pilot 1.0, so it doesn't have any of the surrounding cameras
Great video very helpful
Glad to hear it!
Excellent
Thanks for watching
Great job
Thank you sir!!
Please talk more about moving between FSD and autopilot
I will do another video about that
What brand is your phone holder that you have in the upper left corner of the screen? Price? Link where to buy?
This is the one i use

Good video for someone not getting good direction from a man who's been cleared to drive his wife's Tesla, but is too busy to tolerate my questions.
Best of luck! Thanks for watching!
Excellent video!
Help me with this issue: If I’m in autosteer and overtaking a slower vehicle, as soon as I turn on my turn signal, the car drops out of autosteer and cruise control and goes into regen braking. 😱 If memory serves, this just started happening a few months ago and the car used to perform as you describe. Settings seem correct.
2020 M3LR, current software version, basic autosteer only.
Yeah it shouldn’t be doing that
Excellent informative video, have you experienced any "phantom braking" tks
Yes, I have
@@Myksgarage Is it a frequent occurrence & is it sorted with any ota updates yet?

best explanation ever. I am a new Model Y owner. Does the autopilot beta also manage the speed, reduce/increase based on the car ahead of you?
Yes it does all of that
@@Myksgarage Thanks for the quick reply :)
Hey great video man my mom just bought a 2024Y performance and she didn’t know how to but my quick question what’s the difference between my 2014 P 85D that also has auto pilot 1 .0 in this one ? Because it looks to me the same as my 2014 model S
They are about the same, the model S has enhanced autopilot which allows auto lane change, the Model Y doesn't have auto lane change
@@Myksgarage oh wow wow wow so with this being said, basically a 10 year old software without all the upgrades basically can do as better as a 2024 model 😌 I don’t know if my P 85D came with all the upgrades, but my vehicle allows you to play Netflix and all that kind of goods plus the outer pilot that I have follow the GPS turn by itself it will change lanes if you turn the signal where to and will stop by itself behind the vehicle, so basically will follow the vehicle in front of you at a distance
Great video! 👏👏👏 One question: if you are arriving to a red traffic light and the Tesla stops itself after another vehicle, how long can the other car be stopped so that the Tesla starts again by itself? In my VW Golf, it is 3 seconds, and if it is longer, I have to press the "Resume" button on the steering wheel or press the accelerator. I hope that with autopilot theres in no limit, as it would be very relaxing for traffic jams 😁😁Thanks! 👍
I haven't noticed a limit, you just press the accelerator down if it's been awhile
@@Myksgarage Ok, thanks! So there is a limit, as you have to press the accelerator 👍 It makes sense, as we can imagine that the driver has suffered a heart attack and if there was not a limit, the car would be moving forever without human intervention... 😮💨😮💨
Thank you very much again from Spain 😉
@@Myksgarage Oh, by the way: I was wondering if you have realized how long does it take for the need to press the accelerator? 30 seconds, 1 minute? Just out of curiosity 😉😉
I've had my 2023 Model 3 Long Range a year now and like the vehicle a lot. But FANTOM BRAKING happens a lot which is very annoying. I was traveling on a toll road speed limit 70 mph doing th legal 80 mph with the Cruise Control on.......all of sudden the fantom braking kicks in which jolts you into a uncomfortable situation. Hitting the accelerator pulls it out of it. But what's the fix for this famtom braking, or just live with it?
Yeah, Phantom breaking is annoying. I'm not sure what the fix is. It should be getting better with this new full self driving software.
May I know why do you have FSD visualization in basic autopilot?
Why not?
Ok, so you need to move the wheel to let the system know you are attentive, yet if you move the wheel it will disengage. Obviously there is some fine line between the 2 effects? How much is needed?
Yeah it is a fine line...
@@MyksgarageIm picking up my First Tesla tomorrow, so I guess I will find out pretty quickly.
Can it be used in local streets with no traffic lights?
Yeah it just won't stop for traffic. Lights are stop signs on its own.
A lot of other mainstream cars, including Hondas and Toyotas have "enhanced" autosteer (aka lane keep assist) as standard. My 2022 Honda Odyssey doesn't disengage autosteer when I change lanes.
Yeah but Tesla does it better....
@@Myksgarage I have use a non Tesla and Tesla Lane Autosteer and they all work the same, you can not just say Tesla is better, also I have a tesla, but there is also Kia has the autosteer that will change the lane automáticamente for free and not pay the 6000
Interesting i just turn down the drive stock only once and it engages auto steer automatically i dont need to do it twice
Yeah there is now a setting for 1 click or 2
What happens if you engage Autopilot, 50 with a 50 speed limit sign, 5 offset so current speed is 55, 35 speed limit sign is passed, over the speed limit chimes, Touchscreen shows 35 speed limit, 55 max, 55 current, will Autopilot disengage and may lock you out of using Autopilot going 20 over the speed limit? Basic Autopilot does not "auto" change the max or current speed when the speed limit drops. Haven't tested Autopilot where the speed limit increases and whether the max or current speed "auto" increases. Maybe should be called "Semi-Autopilot" versus "Autopilot".
That’s an interesting question, I’m now curious about this now
Is this car will stop on redline ?
Redline?
Good video, you are lucky that you didn't get ticket for driving and holding phone in your hand.
Yes I was very lucky!
Weird experience today. Merged onto the freeway, set Autopilot with 55 speed limit sign, 60 max (5 offset), 60 current speed...a mystery speed limit changed to 45...max changed to 45 (which is weird cause I have 5 offset so max should have been 50) and current speed 60...chime cause current speed is over the speed limit...car starts to slowdown to 45...left alone to see what Autopilot would do with the upcoming 55 speed limit sign...speed limit changed to 55 but the max remained at 45. Long-hard press down right stalk to reset speed and the car sped up to 60....then concrete/asphalt transition and the car starts to slow down. So...how to make rhyme or reason with this behavior in order to use Autopilot as a driving aid? At the moment, Autopilot is more of a nuisance. Wife was WTH I was doing...was pretty annoyed and was getting car sick. I will redo this route again to see if this behavior is repeatable. I was on the three month FSD until last week and now have the basic Autopilot. BTW....probably someone already has an answer on the web, but what's with the blinking max speed....was at the traffic light...Autopilot disengaged...max speed was a light gray and then disappeared...reappeared...disappeared. Okay...time for the two finger salute...too weird.
That is strange
Today is another day. According to the “manual”, if on the highway and signaling to take an off ramp, AP will slow down to the off-ramp speed. Tried it today and was on the edge of the seat to jump on the brake pedal…set 60, max 60, speed limit 55…signal right..off-ramp speed sign 35…and AP changed speeds to 40, 40, 35…then again with no speed limit signs…AP changed the speed limit to 45 but kept the set max speed at 40…passed a 35 sign…AP changed the speed limit to 35…so far kind of good…passed a school zone 25 speed limit sign and no changes…not good…passed a 30 sign…AP changed speed limit to 30 but the set and max remained at 40. Ummmm….why didn’t the set and max speed remained at 40? I guess I’m not exiting the highway so AP will not adjust the speeds. More testing to understand AP.
In a land of subpar and truly annoying videos, this one is superb videography.
Many thanks!!
Cant we driving rivers using autopilot
I'm not sure
So my foot still has to be on the gas
No, just hand on the wheel
Why people choose black interior? Looks so cheap!
I think it looks good
you@@Myksgarage
People have different preferences.
right, a lot of ppl like cheap stuff@@SueC56
Auto pilot is nothing more than what almost every other carmaker offers now. It's DPCC. Distance pacing cruise control plus Lane Centering and because it does not use radar like Kia, for example, in my opinion Autopilot is an inferior product. Fantom braking with Autopilot is a long standing problem, something I never experienced with my last Kia with DPCC and Lane Centering. The Tesla Vision is inferior in almost every way.
Interesting feedback
I agree with you bout Kia it works perfectly every time no need to reengage after changing lane etc, however it's not a big deal
Its the phantom braking that would make me think twice before moving to Tesla....
Good, but too wordy.
Okay....
Too much talk.
Just mute the audio
My Toyota does this better. Over hyped giant battery car.
I doubt it....
Great information but talking/making a video while driving? Not wise my friend...
It was on autopilot
You don't talk to your passengers when you're driving? lol
