- We're continuing with our traditional Eurovision videos between song releases and rehearsal at Eurovision itself. Now it's a traditional battle between this year (Eurovision 2022 in Italy) and the last year (Eurovision 2021 in the Netherlands). We compare songs from the same countries and see which year wins. UK, yes, but definitely not Spain. I love both Spanish songs as Voy a Querdame is a masterpiece, amazing vocals, amazing voice, I believe the song is about his grandmother if I’m correct and it’s just so refreshing compared to the mostly party songs last year (I loved the party songs but Blas didn’t deserve the 0 televote points, no way.) then we have Chanel’s song which is a party song, I love it but I hope it doesn’t win, unless I the top 2 is Sweden & Spain then I would.
For me, the overall quality of the songs from this year is probably better, but they’re all so similar and nothing really stands out. Last year there were some real stand out acts, there’s no one I really want to win this year.
I feel like Ukraine should probably win this year, bc it’s unique, catchy, but I’d choose Shum over Stefania aaaany day.

@@samrio1625 yess she was amazing! But making a hard performance doesn't make it epic. It was nice to watch, but the song was pretty average to me. Also, the performance didn't really catch me off guard, it was beautiful but not unique at all. We've seen thousands of people doing nice choreo to generic music on Eurovision.

Which really surprised me because I've been feeling disappointed by this year compared to last year. I think it's because the standouts were better last year than this year, but the overall quality is better this year.

Last year Zitti e buoni, yes. This year I technically have France in the 1st place but have enough other winners including give that wolf a banana. But it’s all before the show, we’ll see what happens after

2021 had higher highs, but also lower lows. 2022 is more consistently good across the board.

I used studio versions/music videos/NF peformances for both 2021 and 2022 even though we have live performances from 2021, because it's easier for video editing. Still, I kept in mind live performances from 2021 while making this.

Interesting! Appreciated the love for Jendrik, Lesley and Vasil (all 2021), although I realize it could have been more of a not liking the 2022 that much. LOL! A few we disagreed on, you chose some up-tempo ones that I didn't like as well as the more ballad-y songs.

I agree that 2021’s better but I’m giving 2022 a chance. Also I hope that the voices haters deal with the tie with hold me closer (Don’t get me wrong hold me closer is okay, it’s just too overhyped)

I agree that Hold Me Closer is overhyped. Basically, the fans' top 3 so far this year (Italy, Sweden, Spain) are all overhyped by different reasons. Fans are way too straightforward this year. It's basicaly just voting for 2 Eurovision powerhouses (Italy, Sweden) and for a super staging that is worthy for some big musical awards contests and etc (Spain). I hope it will be a surprising winner in May.
@@escserg6731 3 weeks later but we had 3 surprise qualifiers from semi final 1 (in my opinion 2 definitely shouldn’t have qualified) so I think it will be a shock winner but I swear people who say Sweden is overrated get replied with “overrated overshmated”
I was kind of mad that the Ukraine beat us (UK) but I’ve listened to their song so many times, it really slaps so fair enough, I hope this does some good for them 🙏

I was agreeing with a lot of the choices... Until France. Voilá is a masterpiece and it pays hommage to the first Eurovision contests in such a beautiful way. This year's song is so generic. And then... Italy. Zitti e Buono is a good song, but Brividi brings such a unique vibe and it's so current but also romantic and deep.
Voilá is a great tune but if you think that a rave song sung in Celtic Breton language is generic, then I don't know what isn't.

I feel like my Post ESC Depression was worse last year than this year which meant the content was better last year
another thing that really threw me off of my bearings was the first rehearsals this year and the fact that no press was let in because of a "partnership" with Tiktok add that with the fact that the Host's scripts were kinda off this year and the entries were definitely weaker this year...

Honestly I feel like last year had better entries overall but the ones that are good this year are much better than last year's "good entries",honestly last year was probably the year I forgot about the songs the most cause I still listen to 2018/2019's songs and last year only Italy and Switzerland

My friends are always sh*tting on that but I only started following Eurovision this year so I can't tell personally
@@TimeG37 Yeah some French reporters accused the lead singer of snorting cocaine (proven false), but I don't really think it affected France as it wasnt really that big of a deal

I feel like there was great songs from the smaller countries last year and that rarely happens: adrenalina by San Marino, je me casse by Malta, Mata Hari by Azerbaijan etc.

I think the songs this year are more consistent with its quality but it also doesnt have a lot of realy big things like last year had.
I also think that besides the songs 2021 was just better in the other things, staging, interviews and most of all the people who present the show. I think people often forget how mutch the presenters have to carry. They are in the intermisions, do some intervieuws and are generaly there to make the inbetween times fun and bring somthing to the table. If you think about it thats kinda hard to do.
Yess. NikkieTutorials in my opinion was like the best host they had, her interviews were so good and it really showed us how the acts are when they aren't on stage and how much fun they are.
Finally, I found someone else who prefers 2022 France over 2021 France

Yeah. But it may be generic outside Eurovision while in Eurovision it's really different. How many girl groups could we remember except Hurricane in recent years? Moje 3 (Serbia 2013), Feminnem (Croatia 2010 & Bosnia 2005), some random ones in the early 00s... not too much.
