- Hey everyone! It's a full battle between cancelled Eurovision Song Contest 2020 and coming Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam. It's between all artists, returning artists that was supposed to participate last year but were confirmed to this year because of the cancellation due to pandemic and absolutely new artists that changed last year's participants. So, how many countries did right choice? Let's see! Don't forget, it's only my opinion!

I feel like overall 2021 is consistently great whilst 2020 was more mixed but with a few more standouts

Nope, I think last year was definitely MUCH stronger than this year. Especially most of the returning artists couldn’t manage to top their last year’s performances

I feel really bad for the artist of 2020 who weren't allowed to go in 2021.
Especially Germany....I prefer 2021 overall but if that wasn't the biggest downgrade ever idk what is lol

Yessssssss. By far the better year. I'm an American living in the US (Hawaii) and I'm obsessed with Eurovision. I have to watch it a bit later than everyone else (on CZcams) and this was the best year in the last 10 years I've watched! I will share my favorites with you but I literally had 20 favorites!

I love Daoi (Iceland) so much because his 2017 song was about meeting his wife and falling in love, 2020 song being about the birth of his kid and meeting her and then this year being about how they've been married for 10 years... they're the wholesome break we needed these past years

@ESC Nightcore a lot of songs are generic this year (like always), in that perepective this one isn't really that bad, just the act that irritates me, feels like one of those many "joke" entries we used to see all the time back in the day.

I don't know about you but I personally love Norway's song (fallen angel) and it's pretty good in Norwegian too :]
I looooved the song so much, but I couldn't watch the guy perform it...he looked like such a poser from the 90s with that hair and the headband. So every time he came on I just looked the other way and enjoyed the beautiful song.
The Norwegian version is 10x better! I love it even if I dont understand the language.. Also, 2020's Attention was one of my favorite it's also an amazing song!

By the way my opinion still stands. BUT... the song was beautiful and the guy has a great voice. What he wears doesn't change that, and I gave him credit for those qualities in my comment, also. I have never heard of him before...but your commemt mentioned other songs and that makes me want to listen to his songs (not watch his videos though). Thank you for that comment...I'm looking up his music now.

I really hope Malta doesn't win bc even tho she's a queen and a great singer the song is basically an upgrade from TOY and i think a different song deserves a win. My fav is Italy by far.

I think 2020 was going to be a literal bloodbath which was exiciting because most of them were looking like a possible winner. Now the winner quality songs are easy to tell since they are a few.

I love how I completely agree with this scores in some cases and sometimes think "huh wtf". Shows the flexibility of music taste and how not black-white it is.
Favorites are Lithuania and Ukraine. I see Malta is the predicted winner, but I'm just not in love with the song.

As an Australian I personally don't like our entry this year.

2021 looks to be stronger than 2020. I think every country improved their songs (Except Sweden, it got way worse). Depending on who is in the finals and who wins it will either be 2010 (strong songs and a meh winner) or 2009 (strong songs and a strong winner.)

@@sandydennylives1392 Germany slightly improved. UK improved drastically. Aus is about the same (meh). Overall, this year fields is stronger than last year's. There are a few countries that either got worse or no change (Netherlands/ Sweden/Georgia).

Germany we must agree to differ, they had a top notch bop last year and '21 leaves me cold, a mediocre novelty number. I quite like the Neth's this year, and a funny vid, last year annoyed me. Georgia was slightly better last year ( was he singing in his car last year, I might have the wrong country) agree about Sweden. Though the same format, Ukraine slightly improved, a fair few wen't backwards or sideways, it seems only Swiss brought their A+ game, it's my clear winner this year so far. Early days still though. Alcohol you has led to Amnesia, I preferred '20.
Finally someone agrees about the drop in quality by Sweden! Last years song was such a vibe! This year's song seems so basic by comparison, plus there already has been a popular eurovision song in recent years with a chorus singing 'a million voices'... next
@@markdamaniac6041 Malta's is also a copy of Toy. I honestly think Tusse mostly won because of his back story. I think if he was an ordinary white Sweden I don't think he would have gotten as far. The Mamas definitely had a better song and vocals. (Devil's advocate, Tusse's song is a million choices, not voices). Most of the returning artists copied and pasted their own songs just changed things enough to not be the same song.

I don't get why this song gets so much hate. Not a winner, but I find it totally listenable. I could definitely listen to it a couple more times without getting annoyed, which is not the case with many Eurovision songs.
Im from Russia and I'm sad that Eurovision was cancelled. We had all changes to win but... Anyways, Manizha did a good job this year! Also, I really liked Ukraine, Switzerland and Italy's song this year!

I feel like San Marino cheated with their 2021 song by geaturing Flo Rida on it. It should be a rule that you can't feature world popular rappers/singers on the songs. She thought she was getting alot of douze points by featuring him.

Norway was in my top 3, ESPECIALLY because of the lyrics. But then again, it may appeal more if you have lived through situations like the one she sings about. For me it was deeply moving.

So, a bunch of crazy metaphors simply about... breaking up. No, this meaning I don't like definitely. I agree with you for almost all the songs. The only exceptions are Lithuania and Ukraine.
Lithuania was my favourite last year. If the contest wasn't cancelled, most probably they would win it . This year's Lithuanian song isn't as great as their 2020 song.
For Ukraine, 2020 was much better than 2021. They will have more chance if they sing the original version of Shum.
