      Similarly I love most of Tata car design & performance in their segment. But would never buy them. You don't buy design or performance. You buy the functionality & reliability (peace of mind). For eg. Tata Nexon is way better than Brezza or Ecosport, but would I buy it in place of Brezza ? NO.

    No one seems to be taking note on fantastic safety features (6 airbags) offered on Ecosport. Its 100 kgs heavier but definitely its would be more safe as its being sold in international markets. Brezza is same trick by Maruti, Make for India and Make in India; make lighter cheaper unsafe car put that evergreen Fiat derived 1.3 litre diesel engine. It will go fast and who cares about safety in India. I am sure Brezza would not even be coming with Alloy wheel in spare tyre on its top end model which Ecosport does and no one will report it. Maruti has saved airbags cost and alloy cost on its top end model and still priced it along Ecosport. Its simly milking the indian customer due to their Maruti mindset. Its no longer cheaper to maintain a maruti, its as expensive as most other cars and sometimes on a higher side due to their strange service interval standards and forced maintenance schedules. For instance just compare; Tata, Fiat and Maruti use same diesel engine but Maruti asks its customer to visit service centre as compared to other 2. You visit them more you pay them more. Money saved while buying is milked during service and maintenance.

    Ford cars may be less on features but , drive control and comfort will always be good . Vitara has everything right , but just missing a rear AC vent . For many people drive control and comfort is everything , but ford eco sport is just good as a driver as the rear seats for me was not very broad and comfortable , cushioning though was good .

    Is Vitara Brezza a better package because it has better space, projector headlamps, touchscreen, cruise control, etc? Ecosport has decent space too, it has sturdy build quality, six airbags and an option of automatic with best safety equipment (ESP, TC, HLA). It has more powerful engine too.
    Most of the features mentioned for Brezza only come in the top end variant. But one thing better in Brezza is driver's airbag is standard across all variants and an option of ABS with EBD from the bottom variant at extra cost.
    I think Ford Ecosport is a better package when it comes to the top end variant for whom drive, handling and safety is a higher priority.

      Oh well yeah, the Ford Focus RS is a fantastic car by every measurement. I intended the comment to be focused at many of their other cars. IE. The Fiesta, the Escort, the standard Focus models, the Fusion, and the Taurus. It's weird because the Focus RS is so different from the regular car that I wonder why they even call it a focus. Other than that, their only other good handlers are the Mustang, and the Fiesta ST. The Fiesta ST being really low on power with only ~110hp.

Whilst the ecosport's volumes have gone down to below 2000 a month (R.I.P ecosport) and with the new facelift and petrol engine with hybrid coming i dont think the competitors stand a chance.

    Vitara Brezza is at the top selling charts as 1) It is a Maruti 2) no other auto manufacturer worth their salt can compete with them on after sales 3) as stated in the review also, it does better then the sum if its parts. However, comparing on product to product, Ecosport feels more solid and the build quality and interior quality is at least one or two levels above brezza, which i think would be a differentiator as on road price of top end variants for both is INR 10 lacs plus, & at this price point, one would like to see better quality then INR 5-7 lacs hatchbacks.

    It is 2016 and there is the same old Maruti interior derived from the Swift, WagonR! damn it looks and feels cheap.
    It just doesn't look modern on the outside as well as the Ecosport or the Tata Nexon. It looks like a shrunken and re-badged Range rover's chinese clone. Same old boring DDiS engine and only two airbags!
    It's in the style, safety and build quality department where the Ecosport simply kicks the Brezza out. What is the need of all that gizmos when there is no importance towards safety?
    True, the Ecosport is a bit cramped and small on the inside, but overall quality and VFM is much better than the already dated looking Brezza.
    Also one more thing I would like to add is that Maruti cars suspension deteriorates quite rapidly. The ride will feel fantastic only when the car is new. Add a few thousand kms on the odo and it bobs, pitches and crashes badly... Very poor quality suspension.

    • @rishikausshik00
      @rishikausshik00 Před 8 lety +6

      Megh Patel It's not like I don't like the Brezza. What? I shouldn't post my views? And I suppose you haven't even seen the Nexon. The preview of it is up on the Autocar mag and it is simply mind blowing. The most boring looking car in this segment is the Brezza currently, forget the TUV.
      I am not a Maruti hater and I do own an Ertiga for 4 years now. I know how boring a Maruti car feels after 2 years and how bad their suspension become.

    • @RJCreativeIndia
      @RJCreativeIndia Před 8 lety +3

      +Dhananjayan Kausshik I totally agree to your views that the Interior & safety of the Brezza is inferior compared to its competitors. I myself have booked the Vitara Brezza for my family & i must say that in terms of the exterior, Vitara wins over the EcoSport any day. The DDiS Engine is incorporated to lower down the costs and taxes. The Ecosport has a gigantic front-grill which makes it look very awkward from the front-view and the small sized tyres. Bookings for the Vitara have already crossed 35,000+ and this talks about the VFM this car has. Ford has slashed its prices for the Ecosport by a lakh worrying that the Vitara sales will overpower theirs. I hope you are also aware that the TATA Aria failed miserably being one of the biggest flop in a short history. I believe the Nexon would overpower them. Either ways, we shall wait for the sales, I guess that should do the talking.
      P.S : I drive a Maruti Swift / Esteem. Not a fan of their interiors at all. They suck. But I would disagree on your comment that the suspension would deteriorate over a period since the Esteem & Swift I use are on muddy roads and its been 8 years & the suspensions has never failed me to replace it once.

    • @rishikausshik00
      @rishikausshik00 Před 8 lety +2

      Rinse John Ji, I have nothing against Maruti, but isn't the Multijet engine 10yrs old already? I also drive the Multijet engined Ertiga only, and it feels very old to drive, especially after driving newer engined cars.
      I didn't say the suspension has failed... it just doesn't feel as soft and plush as it used to be when it was new. Now it just crashes and bounces hard. Very bad.
      I wonder why are you bringing the Aria into the Compact SUVs topic. The Aria was never a bad car. But it was the design and service issues that made it a flop. Now I know many 2014/2015 Aria owners who are happy with their car.
      Now they are bringing the Hexa to up the game.
      The Nexon preview is up in the Autocar mag and it just seems fantastic. It just looks much, much better than it's rivals and will probably offer much better VFM and power.
      Looks are subjective and the Ecosport to me is the better looker than the Vitara. The Vitara without the contrasting roof, looks like a Swift that went to the gym.

    • @RJCreativeIndia
      @RJCreativeIndia Před 8 lety +1

      I agree that the Multijet engine is pretty old now. The feedbacks I've given above is all based on the value of that particular car. The new Renault Duster is fantastic & even the Creta for that fact is a very good Premium compact SUV.
      The reason I got Aria into the topic was to talk about the sales figures that failed at that segment. And no one can deny that the Maruti's servicing and after sales is one of the most pocket friendly companies out there to the customers. I totally liked the Nexon, but I guess its a matter of Brand & people's trust over that particular brand.
      Thou looks are subjective and most cars are judged by their exterior looks. I'll be honest here : My priorities would be performance, looks, ease of driving & then the interiors. I love to have nice interiors, but not at the cost of performance.

    • @rishikausshik00
      @rishikausshik00 Před 8 lety +3

      Rinse John Uh I don't think Maruti is quite pocket-friendly anymore. My car just had been to 30K km service and damn they charged 13K rupees! I had asked them to clean the interior and replace the fused tailight bulb... but 13K is just too much. "Maruti is cheap to maintain" is applicable only for Alto and the M800. In fact, I have seen that Ford and Tata spares are a bit cheaper than Maruti's, if not costlier.

      +avishek nath I think they will always look upto it :D With millions of changes to designs and leave a lot to be desired handling. All these new cars handle like shit ,fluidic everywhere and floating in the corners..I simply hope Ford doesn't follow the mental conundrum and end up being the worse off

    Thanks to Brezza now Ecosport has added all missing features like Cruise Control, 7" Touch Infotainment system with Inbuilt Navigation in 2017 model. N Thank god to your review I invest my hard earned money in Ford Ecosport Platinum variant which has all bells n whistles specially 6 airbags. 100kgs lighter?? it clearly shows the built quality of Brezza. Ford Ecosport ROCKZZ.

  • @mihir855

    What it disappoints is that Maruti Suzuki runs a batch of diesel cars on the same 1.3 L DDIS engine which is again borrowed from fiat. Its diesels flagships as Ritz , Swift , Swift Dzire , Ciaz and now Brezza comes under the same house with some recalibration in power. So When it comes to diesel its the same engine which serves you except the exterior. On the other hand Ford Ecosports refined 1.5 L engine with 100 bhp is responsive compared to Brezza .So, in my personal point of view Brezza stands lowest in terms of its engine capacity compared to other Sub 4 meters SUV as Ecosport , TUV300 and even now the new entry M&M Nuvosport.

    • @carmalswitch
      @carmalswitch Před 7 lety

      ES and brezza diesel engines are 4 cylinder. TUV 300 and Nuvosport share the same mhawk 3 cylinder engine (so i would exclude the TUV and Nuvosport for comparison in the engine department). The ES diesel engine does have more torque at lower rpms as compared to Brezza but the Brezza has faster times compared to the ES. Brezza does have turbo lag at lower rpms (but personally i plan to install a Dual channel Dieseltronic piggy back ECU to overcome the turbolag....but thats just me). Once thats done, the turbolag will cease to be an issue and will get more power to an already efficient, tried and tested engine!!

      I ve been using Ford for the past 5 years and dont get me wrong, Ford is as cheap as Maruti to service and maintain, the only region where Ford is lacking is no of service centres and cost of damage rectification, which is 12-25% more than Marutis, yet Ford is insane value for money

    • @Journeyman4Love
      @Journeyman4Love Před 6 lety

      Ponygt 662 absolutely agree with u.. infact parts are very cheap.. Maruti on the other hand is feeding off past glories.. currently it's as costly to own as any other.. not to mention their forced service periods and cycles.
