As a trained chef myself we were always encouraged to use French terms. I hated that because I don't even know French, could never remember any of the words that we already have English words for..

I know the article got it wrong saying that Warly lived in France, but technically he is indeed French, since New Caledonia is part of the French republic
Actually Warly did live in Paris as a sous chef, but the article didn’t actually say he *was* French.

5:53 Actually, Catcoons can be pretty useful with the right setup. If you entomb their homes and place rocks inside, and then setup a moleworm farm around that, then they'll passively kill the moleworms as they try to get to the minerals in the catcoon pen, allowing for easy meat.
As someone who sucks at DST and never made it past winter, learning that the word "spunk" is used as a substitute for cum in Australia was the most valuable piece of information I got from this video
in the warly guide you need to know that the animated short was sad before playing warly, if u thinks its not sad, u can't play warly according to the quide

Raising smallbirds is definitely a trap set up for inexperienced players. Nothing like having the cute baby you spent time protecting attack you when it grows up.
Furthermore I believe Warly is supposed to be New Caledonian (?) judging from his skin tone and french influence (as you pointed out. )
I thought halfway through that maybe they were thinking about the tier list in terms of creativity but then I remembered they started with rabbits.

i can confirm 2 things,am french so i know that english as a lot of french words and names in the cooking field,like the name ratatouille or cordon bleue,and warly is definitely french,he is not just using freench cooking words,even if they didnt did the effort to call a real traductor and just google trad it,for example when he examine walter he says "salut mon petit monsieur *name of the player who plays walter*" so he uses more than kitchen french words,they just didnt put anny effort into it

The only reason why I stick around base for long periods of time on multiplayer servers is because, since I'm not usually sure what everyone else is doing, I don't know what else needs to be done lol. I don't stick around long unless I find a use for myself on the team

Fair point.
Games usually appeal to stereotypes though (particularly Don't Starve) so I personally think it's more likely he's from an island influenced from the french instead of an immigrant.
In the end though, the whole thing is just a theory, he could plausibly be from a multitude of places.
