How Interpret it: Charile is the doll: becoming queen and gaining *their* power The Blacksmith is Winona: Trying to protect Charile and being shocked by how she changed The King is Maxwell: He stole *their* power in the codex umbra and couldn't teach as he himself didn't know it The Mirror is them: They brought power both to Maxwell and Charlie The Fool is Wilson: He (accidently) killed Maxwell and for a very breif time was King of the Constant before Charlie sent him back The Birds and Narrator I don't belive represent anything Take aways: Charlie followed Wilson to Maxwell somehow, They are tricking charile into helping her, Charlie is trying to explain her story for some reason
Good theory, may i put my own? you put it together pretty well eveything but there are some pieces missing. The play say that "the king search for follS", yes wilson was the one who set maxwell free, but she was watching all of the suvivors. The birds, i think is just a way of charlie be there without being there, as she mocks the actors (The survivors) and cherish her own story. Charlie dind't follow wilson to the constant, she was alredy there. And the play is just a way to shown winona and maxwell what she become because of them
With the recent Maxwell rework animation, it seems Charlie is trying to share her side of the story, wether the interpretation is accurate of the true events or just as a means to make her seem less corrupted, than when he is convinced, she will confront him and take advantage of him, again, depending of if she will promise him with the reunion he longs for or will cast him aside the moment he fulfills his purpose to her ulterior motives.
The way this community interacts with the game with such love and earnest really warms my heart. Sure, we have our criticisms, but they gave us a beautiful gift, and here you are showing how much we all appreciate it. Truly wonderful!
I'm sure they will, considering how cryptic and hard to follow dst's story can be (which is part of its charm, ofc) they could definitely include playbills for other storylines in the future

Quite cool! I was a bit dissappointed the first time when the birds didn't make a Statler and Waldorf impression, but the acting was real cool. There's always one of these full content reenactments in every community game. Happened in UT, Omori, Halo, FTL, and now here. Real awesome.
In my pov, this Is a Litle prank to the Charly history AND the New queen of the constant. The blacksmith: Winona The King: Maxwell The monster of the mirror: the Shadows The fool: Wilson
So the queen is Charlie and the mirror is “them” Apparently they “helped” Charlie somehow We can assume that Maxwell may have affected Charlie and “they” offered help just like how Maxwell “helped” the others in the constant This could possibly mean that dual personality Charlie had was due to “them” Charlie will pay them back by freeing them apparently Maxwell I think is a the king and the fool Wilson as he took the throne from Maxwell for a while but eventually the throne was taken by Charlie Her being the nightmare queen and now having a bit of “their” powers plans to free “them” Maxwell had but a taste of the power “they” had with the codex umbra and when he was pulled to the nightmare throne he was basically forced to do their bidding even with the amount of power he had This may sound contradictory to the play but story wise it makes sense Maxwell himself is confirmed to have been affected mentally due to the chair due to loading screens and the inferences we can make due to his dialogue For example when examining the ancient text in the atrium he apparently forgot the language This could be an example of the nightmare throne removing his knowledge of the world With Wilson he was on the throne as well meaning he would theoretically also know just as much as Maxwell when it came to the constant Either “they” took his knowledge as well or This could be explained due to the time in the constant being much different then our world Maxwell was on the throne for potentially thousands of years meaning he saw the ancient civilization grow and the fall of it but this knowledge was stripped from him “They” could be tricking Charlie Her as the metaphorical queen is the most powerful piece on the chess board while as the king is one of the weakest so it makes sense why they would throw out Maxwell in place of Charlie “They” plan on using Charlie to free themselves and are manipulating her They are known for manipulating as well Evidence of this comes from Maxwell and willow Maxwell had no reason to pull people into the constant yet he did Willow from the wicker bottom short seems like he is helping Maxwell pull people in to the constant and is receiving orders from someone I do not think it is actually Maxwell giving orders to willow because this would have been referenced by one of them especially since Maxwell always has a silhouette of him shown when pulling people in with the only exception we know of being Webber where he never shows his silhouette to him Since we established “they” are manipulators and will do anything to free themselves we can say with high probability Charlie also is being manipulated Now we have a bit of a hint of Charlie’s motivation and why she is doing what she’s doing Knowing Charlie’s part of the story is only one piece of the puzzle though we still need to learn about a couple of things Wagstaff,woby (walters dog mutant thing),woodies story,what the fuck is up with the moon,why does everyone have a name that starts with a W(there’s a theory on this but I’m not explaining it here) and who exactly is “Them” These are only some of the questions that we need to know but once we figure these out we will be much closer to finding out everything but something that’s more important than all of these is how much do people actually know about the constant The characters wanda and wicker bottom are weird They seem to know a bit too much about certain things and these are things they should not know With Wanda she seems to have time manipulation and is being hunted down by nightmares With wicker bottom due to her notes she keeps down in a secret part of the library she has some sort of knowledge of the constant as we see creatures straight from the place With wicker bottom i theorize that the information she has on the constant comes from someone else and it’s Wagstaff Wagstaff as we know is able to travel in and out of the constant and is the ONLY person who could give wickerbottom such information on the constant I believe wagstaff may own the library she worked at but doesn’t recognize him because well your not going to know the CEO of your company all the time We already know wagstaff owns other businesses so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was one of his We also know Wagstaff has told other people about the constant I mean look at webbers father Webbers father is clearly working with him as a zoologist and this is why he gave him the sample of a spider from the constant Wickerbottom/library may be being used as the thing that will hold the information found on the constant and other dark forces This explains why wicker bottom knows magic As for Wanda how she is able to time travel and use time to leap to certain places is ambiguous Maybe she made a deal with “them” for some power but didn’t keep her end of the bargain so is being hunted Or maybe she was actually meant to be the queen of the chessboard before Charlie This is just I think that the magic mirror is the ancient gateway because we can see from the Meteus murals that it was broken at the time of the ancients and in the cimenatics we can see that Charlie is currently trying to repair it. As for the Maxwell's motivations to lure other people in the constant the play itself says that he was bored and neeaded some entertainment.
