Alot of people relocate the battery for weight distribution, it actually makes a big difference. If you remove a 40lb battery from the front driver side of the car, and move that 40lb battery to the rear passenger side, you now changed the weight balance by 80lb. You probably dont believe, like every comment on my battery relocation video, so let me explain. If you have a 40lb in your, the front of the car (just for example) weights 500lb with the battery in it, and the rear weights 500 without the battery. 500+500=1000, the car weighs 1000 as of right now. Now you remove that 40lb battery from the front of the car, making it now weigh 460 lb, you now add the 40lb battery to the rear of the car of the car making it weigh 540lb. 460+540= 1000, the car still weighs 1000lb, but now there is an 80lb difference between the front and rear of the car.
Poor Man Mods but if there's 4 wheels and its front wheel drive isn't it just making the front 40lbs lighter and instead of pulling its dragging/pulling 40 extra lbs from the rear?
I was almost going to use 1/0 cca but never knew that cca wire used for car audio could cause fires, you always learn some valuable information..do your research people.
As far as your full copper wire goes you can go to any welding supply store and get weld lead wires. They are full copper and have been used for higher performance stereo systems before stereo kits were a thing
@@drumsterbaby you would want to mount a fuse on the positive terminal in the location that's close to the battery itself so that if the battery failed it will cut off the connection immediately instead of burning your car down until it reach the fuse box in the front of your car
The ground should go straight from the battery to the engine right? and from the engine to the strut turret? I would never go straight to metal in the car with a rear mounted battery..
WARNING!! I really hope you don't plan on using more of that plated CHEAP "zero gauge" wire... that is the stuff that causes car fires. Don't let the thickness fool you. Do research. Go full copper or go home.
milanmastracci , you said it's full copper wiring but full copper wiring is never that flexible, and they usually don't have blue plastic or rubber coating. It's called 1/0 wire not zero gauge , but having a zero gauge CCA wire and zero gauge OFCA wire makes a huge difference. I would recommend to go homedepo or somewhere and pick up real copper 1/0 wire to relocate the battery. Don't use car audio wiring unless it's 2/0 OFCA wire or true 1/0 OFCA wire.
yes Oahu boy! I had a brain fart and couldn't remember what that wire was called. "CCA" If you do go to a legit stereo shop they should have full copper wiring for stereos. Also Best Buy is now required to carry and install full copper wiring because of multiple car fires using the CCA wiring. They WILL NOT install anything unless full copper is used.
Your timing is impeccable my friend. was just thinking of doing this to make room.for a CAI. kind of cramped in the Hyundai. great food for thought when I get to it.
not sure if you realize, but you had enough slack in the wiring harness that you should have been able to relocate to where you wanted without getting new wire. If not quite enough, you could separate the main from the wiring harness, which you would want to do anyway especially if you put a fuse block on there. Just a thought.
I'm seeing some comments here about safety hazards and the wrong wiring and such, so how has this held up over the years? still running the same setup as far as the wiring and tools used?
Somehow i didn't get a notification in the sub box for this video. I saw part 2 and im like WHAT?? Luckily found part 1. Also funny because im literally doing this to my car as soon as a battery box comes in from amazon
I've got a Dodge avenger...the battery is located in the wheel well of the car (a brain - wise idea from dodge!!) And I'm thinking about moving it to the trunk as well!! Although you have to struggle with your STEREO system, I'm not... All I'd have to do is run a 0 AWG WIRE from the engine department of o the trunk where I'd replace the battery.
I've been looking for turboed 97 corollas on CZcams but I can't find any. Probably cause there is almost no space under the hood. So I was thinking of doing this mod and removing the windshield wiper tank to fit a turbo.
I was just going to mention to make a video on exactly this project weird! I have the same car and had thought of doing the same thing! lol Great videos Sir!
Quick question instead of connecting the wire to the old terminal is the anyway you can just run a new charge wire straight from the alternator to the trunk?
Just curious why you said you were going to move it further back and pointed the camera to the driver corner of the trunk and not to the passenger side for better weight distribution as that's the main reason to relocate it in the first place
Hi Milan. Do you measured voltage drop in the extension cable (between the battery and the original plugs)? Or the resistance of the cable... It is significant? Thank you :)
its a huge wire but it is definitely not proper and will cause over heating.. that wire is obviously coated and not full copper therefore don't do that.
Did you remove the heat shield under your hood? It looks really clean and all but I've read on some articles that it will shorten the life of your paint
Couple of issues with this instructional... (1) You should put a fuse on the wire running from the alternator to the rear of the car. (2) Please, do no use self tap screws to make a ground connection. Drill and use a nut and bolt.
hello, I really like your videos so keep it up ! I just wanna know if some day you can make a video about car choices..for example the best first cars..or the most reliable cars and stuff like that..once again you're doing a great job !
Did you not have to move the fuse box as well...? I’ve been hearing stuff about it you don’t then you will start blowing fuses and stuff. !!Plz Answer!!
Make sure that car audio 0 gauge wire is OFCA wire. Don't use CCA wire. CCA wire isn't as conductive and running that length of wire can almost drop your voltage by 1volt. And the amperage can drop by a lot and may affect your cranking Amps
Trying to help... I'm an audio enthusiast. I know a lot about wiring.. And thoes people are right, the wire will heat up in the long run and cause a fire. That 1/0 wire is cheap CCA wire. They are not good conductors and you will loose a lot of cranking amps. Use either real copper 1/0 from homedepo or something or use real true 1/0 OFCA wire. Check out GP car audio as they only sell OFCA wiring.
Can I simply change the car from petrol to water fuel AKA HHO fully? Does it need parts, massive change and work or is it simple? Just asking for future projects.
No problem, but make sure to check the foglights. they will need more maintenance. and if you're exhaust turns green, it means that you should change your passenger seat in the next 3 weeks. and never but I mean NEVER drive the vehicle and look three times to your right. this will set the engine to block full out and you can have a accident. other than that, good luck bro. I already did 34,7 of these conversions and I'm happy with the results!

Did you mean " rust proof the undercarriage"? If you know what your doing, you can buy rust proof in a spray can, all you need is to wash it down, primer, then rust proof coat. But I get it done by a shop, because I get a warranty.

After you took out the battery, you can use the extra space to store your Mini.

did you put a FUSE on the battery conector??? so in case you have short the fuse will protected the car cable from going to fire?
Isn't that built into most fuse boxes?
@@drumsterbaby you should put a MAIN FUSE between the battery to avoid a SHORT (potential fire) in case of some electrical short.

Do NOT use self trappers for your ground wire.!!!!🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
why?
It will loosen up in no time
Please NO ONE use self tappers for your main ground.....Just because some kid does it on youtube does not make it right...
The ground should go straight from the battery to the engine right? and from the engine to the strut turret? I would never go straight to metal in the car with a rear mounted battery..
Use a wire wheel to clear the paint around your ground then coat with dilithium grease. That would be the correct way
you've got ants in your car😂

get rid of those, that be a little weight reduction right there. That there be another 'How To, video'
So this is a how to if you already have a wire in the car to the back?

keep up the good work milan

Great video. But if I were doing this I'd put an inline fuse close to the battery, in case the cable shorts out and the car might go up in flames.
I second that, put a fuse in-line next to the battery! A big fire hazard if it shorts.
He's right you always put a fuse closest to the power source
