Full disclosure - I am from the US, and got introduced to the text and scriptures through yoga study, which i now teach, and have since embraced sanatana dharma as my own path in life. I am eternally grateful to Mr Oak for his revelations regarding dating indic history, and it's that timeline I now teach my own students and I encourage other teachers to do the same.
Tomorrow I will visit kurukshetra for the first time and I know my visit will be so much richer and more fruitful carrying the knowledge mr oak has given us.

Sorry to report they still use old dating, as did my guide. His defense was centered around "archeological" evidence and dating of seals from mojeno daro etc, as well as lack of horse bones there, despite the fact that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. It was wonderful to finally visit those places (traffic aside), but disappointing to hear/see old dating methodologies. Keep fighting the good fight Nilesh!!

Language translation merely needs to be proof checked by 10 or 20 people who have read the original books in English to see if the translations are loyal to the original English text. Feel very positive about the translations about Shri Oak's books, as his main readership will be the natural Indic language speakers. I am certain, eventually Shri Oak's body of work will be 'must read' category in universities and will be manifest into school text books. Pranaam

Dear sir, I thank you for clerifying the doubts of many..
I am from Assam and i support point of your research work. I do support your theory that pragjyotish can be anywhere in the west but cannot be related to Assam. The name of pragjyotishpur is being carried along by the people who came from the west and settled in the region of ancient kamrupa. During the reign of Barman dynasty various brahmims and other professionals were gifted land and property and made provisions for permanent settlements. For evidance you can go through the Nidhanpur land grant of king kumar Bhaskar Barman. In the land grants there were many Dutta, bhattacharya, sandilya etc titled people who were gifted the land by the Barman kings. So there is no geneological lineage between the Barmans of kamrupa with Bhagadutta or bajradutta of the west. As per the chinese traveller huen tsang book "Si yu ki" it is well mentioned that King kumar Bhaskar Barman mentioned "Si kiya fang che " by which the king describes that his ancestors came flying through the air and he too have old connection with china. The theory is also supported by renouned scholar and historian of kamrup anusandhan samity in her book kirat janakriti by Dr S. K. Chatterjee .She oppined that king kumar Bhaskar Barman was of mongoloid origin. So from this it becomes clear that the Barman dynasty of Kamrupa has nothing to do with pragjyotishpur or bhagadutta.

Thank you for the excellent exposition Nilesh ji and also for giving us a practical example of the Bharatiya Scientific System.
The last part of Bhaskarvarman's claim is very interesting.
It would not be the first time a western dynasty came to rule the eastern part of India. The Senas of Bengal are a good example. They were an offshoot of the Western Chalukyas. In fact the worship of Durga was introduced by them in Bengal after the Buddhist Pala Dynasty.
Some more interesting facts about Assam:
    1. Similar to Persian, the "S" sound is replaced with "H" or "X" sounds. That is why the Assamese call Assam "Ahom" or "Axom".
    2. The Lion motif is very common in Eastern India such as the "Singhadwars"(Lion Gates) at every Temple and even the vehicle of Durga is a "Lion". This is despite having no Lions in Eastern India. In fact, this region is one of the densest tiger habitats in the entire world.
    3. There are several words that bear semblance with Persian/Middle Sanskrit words. This is despite the Assam region having never being conquered by the Persianized Islamic Turks. For example the word for the traditional two-piece dress of the Assamese womenfolk is the "Mekhela Chador". The Chador here refers to the upper garment and is identical in pronunciation and use to the Persian "Chador".
Hope this information adds some value to the discussion.
My conjecture is that, during Ancient time clans often moved large distances to establish dynasties away from their homeland. But they carried their culture and some aspects of it survived post-integration. We have such long history and expansive geographical consciousness, that it is impossible for us to not find inspiration from distant lands of our civilizational expanse. Also, naming cities in honour of other Ancient cities is not even a uniquely Indian thing. "Rome" is a prime example of that. Therefore, both Pragjyotishpurs are probable, one just happens to have more acceptance in public due to its recency in history.

S is pronounced not H in Assamese; it is done by Ahoms, part of Assamese from Upper Assam who came from Thailand. S is more pronounced like that in Greek, and not like H. Infact, that is the easiest way to find out whether a person is Assamese or not, no other community in India atleast can pronounce that right...

That's a complete new theory in belief system of assamese origin.. The Kamrup kingdom revolves around Bhagadutta,Naraka,Bhaskar Varman and Maa Kamakhya and everyone here believes the pragjyotishpur and Bhagadutta theory. Actually the scriptures which many reffers to is Kalika puran which was written near 900 AD so it's information is very recent. There is no written history of Kamrup or Assam before Varman dynasty. So if Mahabharata is 7000 years old then this big gap of around 5300 years is silent on any Kingdom. So this might be a interesting field of study. If Bhagadutta was from Assam so there should be other information happened in past Mahabharata time. Actually we were always taught that Kamrup was mentioned in Mahabharata but learning from you it is clear that actual scripture has no mention about it.

    Namaste.
In all the Samskrita MB text it is Pragjyotisha. Perhaps wrongly translated by adding 'Pur'. This could have created the confusion.
It is correct that Sugreeva atlas places this Kingdom in the west. However, MB places it in the North, won over by Arjun at the time of Yudhishthira Rajsuya Yjna (Digvijaya Parva under Sabha Parva, chapter 25.) After winning over king Bhagadutta Arjun goes in the north to subjugate Vahlika, Kamboja etc. Text in Ashvamedhic Parva mentions that the Horse went from Trigarta to PragJyotisha where Arjun won over Vajradutt. After this winning Arjun fought with Saindhava. Already included in the video. This suggests that these three kingdoms were adjacent/nearby to each other.
Pragjyotishpur was the historical name of the city of Guwahati, under the Kamarupa kingdom. Its antiquity can be established from the fact that it has been mentioned in the two great epics- The Mahabharata and the Ramayana and also in the Puranas.
This information is as per State Government web portal. Appears to be a case of mistaken identity. A nearby area is named Bhagaduttapur!

@@rajbongshikrtv234 ji. Please see footnotes below the translation. Please see also difference between the narratives of the story of Bhagadutta in Mahabharata + Ramayana and Skanda Purana.
In Shishupala Vadha Parva, Ganguli has translated the text as:
And that great warrior king Bhagadatta, the brave ruler of Pragjyotisha and the mighty sovereign of the mleccas, at the head of a large number of Yavanas waited at the gate unable to enter.
Yavanas were always associated with the West. This Bhagadatta is king of mleccas. Here Pragjyotisha is a Janpad or a kingdom.
The Assamese Bhagadatta is stated to be the king of the place Pragjyotisha, and is an asura but not a mlecca.
This indicates that area mentioned in Ramayana and Mahabharata is different from the King and the place mentioned in Skanda Purana.
Later update in Skand Purana could be a kshepaka or a case of mistaken identity. Can any narrative in Purana of the same era take precedence over the story in Ramayana and Mahabharata is a question one needs to consider.
