    I know what you mean about the Azores being green and lush. The Azores was the first place I landed when leaving Saudi Arabia after Desert Storm. I had been living in a tent in the dirt for 6 months.
    Landing in the Azores, seeing the lush landscape, terra-cotta roofs and cows everywhere...seemed like the Garden of Eden!

Your videos really relax me and I figure I should give a little something back. Thank you for the beautiful video I'm a new follower and really enjoy your videos. I became disabled a few years ago and can no longer travel so I found watching travel videos a way to see the world however I recently discovered sailing videos and just love them they are so much more personal and you get to see so many more places so thank you for posting your adventures. I really wish that I could contribute to your channel but I'm living on a small savings and a disability check and insurance,doctors and just daily living drains my bank account each month so I'm really sorry because if I could your channel would be one that I would support. Thank you for what you do to bring some pleasure to someone like me that would otherwise just sit around bored to death.

    This was my first time to watch one of your videos, and I thought it was terrific. It's nice to see cruisers actually exploring these amazing islands. But, you are right in that there aren't many facilities for cruisers on most of the islands. I would also encourage cruisers to do like you, and spend a couple of days at Pico since it's an easy ferry ride. Another easy ferry ride from Faial is to Sao George which also has some nice lodging. I just wanted to reach into your video for some of that wonderful Azorian cheese! I look forward to see your explorations of Sao Miguel. Flores is our favorite!

    • @MJSailing
      @MJSailing  Před 5 lety

      Thank you Marcia, we're so glad you liked our travels through Pico! I had mentioned on camera, but ended up cutting it due to length, that we wished we had another few days to spend on Pico but our cat was alone on our boat back in Faial and we didn't want to leave her for more than 36 hours. We're hoping to hit Flores next spring! It was supposed to be our intended landfall but winds were out of the NE and the harbour would have been very uncomfortable.

    hi, just wondering why you have not moored in the marina. You are parked directly where everyone rafts up to check in.

      There were no open slips in the marina other than to be on the reception dock. There was the possibility to anchor, but we heard holding was bad and watched boats have to re-anchor themselves daily.

    I'm sure you meant 3,000 meters not 3,000 kilometers while describing Pico.

    Nice video, but you're wrong; most

      My apologies Matt, red the text wrong, thought you meant the Azores in general... (Pico still looks good). Wish you a Happy New year!
