- Same Recipe for 3 Different Breads for Your Bread Machine
Let’s get those bread machines out on the counter and put them to work especially during this busy season. The recipes in this video are made from the same basic recipe with one loaf having one substitution for the oil. They can all be made in one day while you work around the house doing chores and even running out for errands. The basic recipe is below. This recipe is also great for a single loaf of plain white bread with no further additions.
Basic Bread Recipe
1 cup warm water
2 TBSPS sugar
2 ¼ tsps fast rise yeast
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
3 cups flour
For the French Bread add 2 tsps of Italian seasoning to the basic recipe.
For the Cheese Bread after the dough has finished its cycle roll it into a rectangle and add 2 cups of grated cheddar cheese. Roll it up and then split it lengthwise. Twist the two pieces together and then into a loaf pan. Let rise 30-40 minutes and then bake in a 375-degree oven for about 35 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 190 degrees.
For the Garlic Bread replace the oil in the dough with softened butter. Once the dough is ready spread it into a rectangle and cover it with a mixture of ½ cup softened butter and 1 ½ TBSPS of chopped garlic. Roll as if you were making a cinnamon bun and then cut the roll into ½ inch slices. Lift the whole thing into a greased loaf pan and set aside to rise 30-40 minutes. Bake in a 375-degree oven for about 35 minutes.

😊 Colleen, Please let me begin with saying I am so thankful that I found your CZcams Channel. My husband and I enjoy watching and listening to you as our friend in the kitchen. Talking, Learning and having Fun. You have encouraged us to get back to making our breads again. We are retired and our most use saying is " We Use To Do & Bake & Cook Like That ! "
Please keep them coming. 😊 I am keeping your daughter and your family in my thoughts and prayers 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much! I am happy to share my kitchen with you all and am so happy you are enjoying the channel. And thank you for the prayers for my daughter she really needs them. ❤
Is your daughter ill ❤️ I’ve just found you❤
It was absolutely Delicious and I appreciated it so much!! Thank you Mom for taking the time to make it for me. And thank you to all of your friends and followers for the thoughts and prayers.
Awe thank you hon! I appreciate you watching your old mom cook. Love you loads 💗
Oh my gosh girl you had to come on and rub it in!! lol...bad enough watching your mama making and talking about what she's made for you today...God bless you luv..hope you're back on your feet now..
Yes you are right.. the amount of yeast you put into your recipe equals 1 pkt .. Thankyou for taking the time to share your recipes and encouraging us to use the ones that are stored in the shed like mine!
Girl after my own heart I love making bread and all sorts thanks for sharing this 🙏🥖
Thank you so much for your bread videos. My bread machine was in the pile to go to the thrift store until I saw your videos. Now I'm making bread every other day for my family and they can't thank you enough 😊. Homemade bread is so much better than store brand bread. Thank you again for your great recipes and for the idea of only using the bread machine to mix the dough and do the first rise. I never liked those square breads that the bread machine bakes and taking it out of the bread machine to rise in a regular bread pan is a game changer.🎉
Thank you, Colleen. After 2 yrs of trying and failing at bread, this video has finally got me making good bread. You have no idea how happy I (and my husband) am that I found you. Made the garlic bread tonight.
I have made a few of your bread recipes now, and each one turned out beautifully. I am a beginner, and your videos are so helpful. You make it very easy to follow. Feels like I'm just cooking with a friend in the kitchen. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
I have a treasured bread machine that my FIL gave me over 30 years ago & it's still working. Thanks for sharing all these beautiful breads with us.
You're welcome! I hope they inspire you. Cheers, Colleen
You’re a bread machine Godess!!
After spending $5 for 6 breadsticks to go with our Christmas Lasagna dinner, I came across your CZcams channel and I was sold, I'm now looking for a bread maker lol. I also watched your Jello salad link that took me back to my childhood and loved your recipes. I just subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to following you.
Thank you! I am happy you found some inspiration here. Best wishes, Colleen
I got mine off Amazon.
I love how you use the same basic recipe but make delicious variations of bread. Great video and I can’t wait to get out my bread machine this weekend and try these recipes!
Excellent!! And I hope you live them as much as we do. Best wishes, Colleen
I don't have a bread machine but I want one. It would be cheaper in the long run and plus I would also have freshly baked bread available to go along with my meals or to use to make sandwiches with.
They really do make life easier and the bread is amazing!
@@oursilvermoments6028Hopefully I can buy one in the coming year. Buying bread is just too expensive. A bread machine would be a "life saver" of sorts just like all of the small kitchen appliances that I already own because it's cheaper to eat at home and I could still find time to make it around my busy work schedules. I'm eating rye bread now along with a pot pie. If I could make homemade rye bread along with other types of bread at home rather than buying the bread then I would really love it.
😊 Alot of time you can find Breas Machines at the THIRT STORES. F@KatLadyNWFL
Sorry fat fingers texting 😂
@@user-dk2gg3my4g yes, that is a good place to find them.
Colleen, I got a bread machine for Christmas and I am so happy I found your channel. You make bread making look so easy! I am going to be making bread today! Thank you!
You're welcome Linda and congratulations on your wonderful gift. I am sure that you will put it to good use. Best wishes, Colleen
Home made bread and broccoli soup! What could be better!
I watch your videos for the first time a few weeks ago. I immediately ordered a bread machine (mine had broken last year). Enjoying it so much.
You are giving tips that aren't in the machine recipe book I really appreciate that. Big thank you.
You're welcome, I am glad you are finding the channel useful. Best wishes, Colleen
I do a lot, as you do, variations on a theme using my bread machine dough setting. So far for this Christmas l have in my freezer English tea cake bread which is like your fruit bread.I bake them in a brioche pan and glaze them with icing sugar mixed with lemon and orange juice.Once the glaze has set and the breads are cool I flash freeze them and then wrap in cling wrap ready to offer as a gift etc.
I have learned that you can make your basic dough, wrap it in a tight plastic bag and place it in the fridge for up to 48 hours before baking. Great to do on Christmas morning to make the house smell yummy and pass around after opening gifts.
Great idea!! Then you don't have that Christmas morning rush. Thanks for sharing that with us. Cheers, Colleen
They all look absolutely delicious. I can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing your delicious recipes with us. Lynnie in Syracuse NY.
I’ll bet your house smells soooo good now!
It smeeled amazing!!
I've been using my bread machine every since I watched your video. I made the cinnamon rolls and multiple breads. Thank you for sharing!
Your breads all look delicious! I have a bread machine, just need to get it out and go to work! You’re a very good teacher! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing your heart with us! I made the cheesy bread this morning. My family ate it up and was looking for more. I think this is going to be a high carb kinda week! 😂
Colleen, you’re the best, your recipes are so easy to make ❤
Thank you because I will be sharing with my husband since he is the bread machine guy. The bread machine is allergic to me. 😊
I actually only used my bread machine a couple times baking the bread and then went to the dough setting and haven't looked bavk. I hope your husband enjoys the videos. Cheers, Colleen
I have the Hamilton Beach breadmaker also. Thank you for the new bread ideas. I really enjoy your videos. I like how you explain everything.
Awe, thank you! I appreciate your comments! Cheers, Colleen
Hi Colleen, I have been watching you for a few weeks and am loving your recipes. I really like how down to earth you are and appreciate that you use what you have on hand rather than buying special ingredients.
I have made your pizza dough twice and it worked perfectly each time. I even baked on the Dollar Tree pizza pan.
Yesterday I made a combination of your Italian and Garlic Breads in this video. I used the Garlic bread and filled it with butter and fresh garlic then added Italian seasoning to the butter mixture. I divided it into 2 loaves and shaped it in a long loaf on a parchment lined baking sheet. I only need to bake about 25 minutes. It was amazing! The butter filling made the bread so delicious. This is another recipe I will definitely be making again very soon. Thanks so much for sharing and keep the recipes coming. Have a wonderful day,
I am from the Texas Panhandle (We are next to New Mexico) We eat a lot of Mexican food. To my cheese bread (while in the kneeding process) I will add chopped green chilies and dried cranberries, Then follow the rest of the recipe. I will look while it is kneeding like you taught me, to see if it needs a T of flour for the green chilies since they might add more wetness.
That sounds perfect! I wouldn't mind the green chilis but my husband is very sensitive to spice.
Great info! Thank you so much
I actually combined all three in to one loaf…it’s really good…I thought about it and I thought all those ingredients go really well together and I was right 👍excellent loaf of bread
That sounds awesome!! Good for you.
I use the dough setting on my breadmaker all the time while I a home. When overseas and dont have access to it or my Kenwood, I use the stretch and fold method.
Bread flour is higher in protein and gives a lighter crumb.
Hi Colleen, i’ve just tuned into your channel and found you making these lovely loaves of bread with the bread maker. You’re a wonderful tutor and it’s so easy to follow your instructions. Thank you so much for putting this video up. I’m going to try these recipes and let you know how I got on. Commenting from New Zealand. cheers Deb

Thank you for this recipe, I just made a basic French bread and it was so good!

Thank you my lady you give me a good idea. I love it.❤🇺🇸🇺🇦
I am going to try all three, they look delicious! Then get daring, and try the last two with apples and cinnamon sugar, to see how that works. About 30 years ago, we bought a very nice pull-apart-apple-loaf from Frankenmuth, Michigan, and could never find a similar recipe; until this Garlic Bread technique.
Thanks for sharing the great recipes! Can’t wait to try them. Hoping your daughter is doing well!
Love your bread recipes looks good I will try them in my machine, like that I like the bread pans better like you do yours to cook the bread after the machine does its job better and cook in the oven
Ive had a bread machine for years and decided to dig it out and use it again. Somehow I lost the cookbook that goes with it. So this is really helpful getting recipes from you. You explain things simply and easy to follow you.
I've only just got a bread machine and I'm loving it
They are a very useful tool. I love mine too! Best wishes, Colleen

Thank you Jennifer!
Excellent demo. Thank you
Hi Colleen! Another great video! You never disappoint. Thanks for sharing😊
Thank you Terri!!
Ty for the garlic bread.
Your welcome! I forgot to explain on the video but it tends to spill the butter over in the oven so please put a pan or foil under it to stop it from melting everywhere and smoking up the house. Best wishes, Colleen
Hi Colleen, i don't have a bread machine, i only make it by hand. I really enjoy watching you. Your So kind love watching you. Hope your daughter is ok, many blessings to you and your family

Thank you for sharing these bread recipes. I just told my husband today I want to make some bread and your channel popped up this afternoon. Take care.
I am going to try and make a french cheesy garlic bread to make when we have spaghetti and meatballs or when we make pizza. Hope it will work out. Thank for these great recipes.
I just recently discovered your channel. Your recipes really hit home as far as remembering the appetizers from the 60's (I think we are the same age) and also the bread machine recipes. I have used mine alot but never the dough cycle. My hubby loved the Hot Cross Buns (and so did my neighbors). Keep up the good work.! A new follower from Nanaimo BC
Thanks for the awesome bread recipes going to try them all yum 👍
I just tried your cinnamon rolls today and am looking forward to more bread machine recipes. Thank you for inspiring me to get out my bread machine.
I hope you enjoyed your cinnamon rolls?
Love watching the baking videos. I tried your garlic bread which was fantastic! Thanks for the inspiration
Love your videos!! I have tried several of your recipes now and they all were excellent. I do like using bread flour myself, it seems to rise better.
Hello Colleen. I can't tell you how fortunate and excited I feel finding your channel. I watch you from Central Oklahoma USA and look for OSM daily. My bread machine sat idle for a long while, until I found your dinner roll recipe. I love your gift ideas on a budget and the easy candy recipes for Christmas gifts. I am a faithful subscriber! Love, love, love your channel. BYW, Hubby and I are silver also!
Wonderful to have you here. Thanks for watching!
Well, you have inspired me to pull out my Oster bread machine. I did the basics, and it's going into the oven in a couple minutes 🎉 Wish me luck!
Good luck! Let me know how it turns out!
I did try the recipe for the basic bread.
I didn’t let it rise enough, so it came out without rising too much. I will try it again. I’m not going to give up. I’ll watch your video while i check the dough on its rise out of the bread machine and look at the size of yours also.
Thank you so much for helping us .
You're welcome Bonnie,
Kitchens are often different temperatures so don't be afraid to let it rise and extra half hour. Best wishes, Colleen
