I never want to wear a battery on my head! Apple thank you for your common sense!
You realize that many headsets have the battery built in and still weigh less than the Vision Pro, you won’t notice it
Why would it be better to carry one in your pocket attached to a cable that stuck to your head? Lol.
we shouldn't even be wearing headsets. Glasses are the way
I believe they should also move all the computing to the external pack. This is the only way we can get to the glass form factor.
That's ridiculous
i imagine with all the R&D they put into the first version, we’ll get the same form factor, with a slight weight improvement. i bet they’ll update the screens, the lenses, and maybe the cameras. along with the chip hardware. M4, R2. i think with the hardware upgrades, they’ll be able to push the software more, and i think they’ll work on making visionOS better while we wait for the physical improvements to become feasible.
You never know. iPhone 3G and iPad 2 were both major redesigns over the original. And the iPhone even specifically went with plastic to save weight and cost, something that could be even more important for AVP.
I don't know if this is a hot take or not but I really want them to switch to plastic there are still some really high quality plastics out there that they could use that wouldn't feel super cheap and it would make the headset significantly lighter which I'm valuing comfort over having a metal chassis I think you can still make a very premium device out of plastic
I think the primary reason is cost related. Their entire supply chain that is extremely complex is designed for metal devices, and their manufacturing partners all have staff trained to assemble metal devices, changing that would be pretty expensive, so it is probably cheaper to just make it metal.
@@Ghettofinger I highly highly doubt that The material cost alone would be an insane difference also they already have plastic devices like AirPods which are very small and require precise machining
I'm thinking WWDC 2025 will be the next one. That would be in line with the iPhone -> iPhone 3G timeline. But I wouldn't be surprised if it took longer
I think WWDC wish show where apple thinks this device is headed. im curious to to see what that have in store for Vision OS 2.0 and if they will offer more first person apps or experiences in apps.
VR/AR headsets have longer refresh cycles than other devices meta/oculus does every 3 years and HTC does like every 5 years no company is gonna refresh it every year it's way to expensive and there aren't enough advancements you can do it a single year on a product like this outside of software improvements
@@The_MEMEphis 👍🏻
@@The_MEMEphisthat’s exactly right late 2026 I’m expecting the next gen
Thanks for posting this Drew - I would expect that Apple will focus on the software at this point. I believe that we will see significant improvements in Vision OS in the coming months/years, similar to what we saw in iOS. I think that Vision OS will be quite different a year from now.
Where are you filming the exterior scenes?
Homie straining them neck muscles hitting that Tim Cook "WOow" lmao
Drew’s wrong again about removing the eye sight display. It actually needs improving and Apple should work on enabling shared VR experiences both remotely and locally. It’s the appearance of the eyes and pass through that humanise this and make it more than just another VR headset. If your improved fake eyes are present you could spatial compute in a room with others that aren’t doing that activity and still interact with them comfortably for all parties. The ghostly FaceTime avatars also need to be much better!
I don’t think a new one is going to be released for a long time. The headset is out, but software needs to be updated as well as apps and more reasons for people to buy it.
5:52 By then we should have more power efficient hardware that won't necessitate the use of a fan. 5:52 And materials that promotes heat dissipation should be a priority.
I took my cousin to the Apple Store today and signed him up for the demo of the Apple Vision Pro. I did the demo a few weeks ago. It’s an impressive product, but they have failed to sell the device. They have not demonstrated reasons why I must have it. I don’t work on a Mac and I don’t operate in a virtual office that they are pushing. For me, I can’t think of any other use case scenario, then using the device itself to create spatial videos for travel Vlogs. Then I would have to wonder how well that would translate to CZcams uploads?
they haven’t given me a single reason why I should plunk down $4000 for one of these things
You don’t plan to use AVP for productivity and don’t sound like a big media consumption person.
It ain’t for you 🤷🏻♂️ … yet
Apple doesn’t need to sell to everyone right now
@@RunForPeace-hk1cuIf no real world use case, they never will.
They must improve their communication strategy with early adopters and developers if they want me to buy into their new(er) products. I would have kept our Vision Pro if Apple indicated their plans to support multi-monitor and separation of individual apps on the Macbook into spatial windows. It seems like something that COULD be supported via software, but perhaps there are hardware limitations, so they chose not to talk to any of us about it.
I think it’s painfully obvious these features are coming, just look at their history and track record with software updates. They’re not gonna spoon feed you every new update they have to give themselves somewhere to go, they trickle features out. You really think they’re never going to support multiple monitors and more cross over between vision os and mac OS? Returning a first Gen product two weeks in is such a waste 😂 WWDC hasn’t even happened yet, new apps coming out everyday
Multi-monitor is almost certainly a hardware limitation. Separation of individual apps is likely a MacOS limitation, I think you will be able to separate out Windows Apps on Remote Desktop before you can do it on Mac - if Microsoft ports their Remote Desktop App to VisionOS. On MacOS, Microsoft Remote Desktop supports it, Apple Remote Desktop does not.
@@lilmichael212 My point is, with a little communication, they would avoid some returns. Some returns from agencies making Apple $50-100k this year from app sales. Like me. Thanks for your comment.
For now maybe we can expect accessories from Apple for the Vision Pro like, Helmet Pro, Pro Strap, etc..........
Just got done with my vision pro demo and I would buy the shit out of a cheaper version that keeps even 80% of the quality of the lenses and keeps the same quality for the pass through(which looks like a grainy-ish 720p-820p quality so don’t think that would be too much to ask)
I could have sworn they told me when I did my in store demo the Vision Pro had the M3.
Then they lied
Front line retail workers are generally not well informed
Imagine if Apple comes out with a Vision Pro 2nd-generation next year. Even then, I didn’t think the Apple Watch Ultra 2 would be released in 2023, but yet here we are. Probably too early?
DREWS Skit here is gold
😂😂😂 The world's funniest skit ever created
No, it’s not. It’s amateurish crap.
@@NoThankYouToo Bro chill. Why are you so offended by his skit?
WOAUOW!
With the goal of this becoming like Ready Player One - Eyesight is not going anywhere... At least until see through displays reach a certain level.
🤣For once I kind of felt bad for Tim Cook.
Hope Tim watches these skits!
Yes I wish they had put the M3 and Wifi 6E and (definitely!) a USB port that actually works for accessories etc.
Now I just hope they improve everything they can as fast as they can through software, especially to make it less of an isolating experience.
That said, I think eye sight is a good investment they made. They'll improve the personas through software, and as they do, it'll look better so they'll make it look less dark. Not to mention other uses like framing if you want to take a spatial selfie with it etc. I hope the VP will be usable "off-head" for filming in general (while monitoring and framing on your iPhone for example)
Don’t see am cheaper one before 2027. I think next year we get an vison pro 2 with M3 and small changes. 2026 sounds also very realistic because i see 2024 and 2025 very huge software potentials.
Leaning towards end of 2014, but more likely Q1 2015
All depends on how fast the microLED optics tech iterates and 3nm optimizations produces tangible efficiency improvements.
They need to iterate quickly to show that the future of MR is bright and create excitement in this space
Eyesight will exist for years to come because it's just like LiDAR on the iPadPros ... they exist not because it is a must have ... it is because they exist because that's how you perfect a future products.
LiDAR was pretty useless on iPadPro, but turns out LiDAR was really meant for Vision Pro 🙂 (a future product)
Expect external battery to exist for YEARS to come. They want to power of VisionPro to rival desktop PC. Don't expect it to go away anytime soon.
I do expect in the distant future for AVP to have a tethered SoC via optical interconnect (over 256GB/s), offloading processing to the "battery pack" rather than on the goggles. That'll make it much lighter and maintain performance.
It's just a matter of time.
“end of 2014, but more likely Q1 2015” in the past lol?
Why do people think everyone is returning the Apple Vision Pro? Less than 5% and most of them weren’t going to keep it anyway. Those are the same people that back in the day would by giant screen TV’s for the Superbowl or NBA finals then return it.
The sleep mask returns I’m so sad to see the real thing go 😭
all i want from apple is either a foldable iphone or ipad mini pro. C’mon Apple! give us what we actually want.
a smaller apple watch se would be cool
Getting a headset without eyesight is a massive mistake. I rather it be improved than removed. Also, don't expect a battery to be in the headset anytime soon. The battery is huge, it is over 35whr, that is going to be way too heavy to put on the headset, battery technology isn't going to improve fast enough to put it on the headset in the near future.
I think that’s the right decision giving the Apple Vision Pro 2+ years to get feedback from the masses to improve the next generation is a great way to improve the product, I wish Apple applies the same policy when it comes to iPhones there’s absolutely no need to have a new iPhone every year. Like if you agree 👍
I didn’t get the Vision Pro seeing am outside the the states and would I spend how much to be in the martrix lol 😂
I think we may see smaller upgrades much sooner like we do with macbooks. Chip upgrades without changing the actual design
Highly unlikely considering the price of the device they need to get buyers trust into spending the premium to get it in the first place and if you show the buyers that you're just willing to replace a super expensive product every single year with a newer version no one's going to want to buy the current one also if you look at the entire other part of the market when it comes to AR and VR headsets nobody refreshes their headsets every single year not even close Oculus probably does it the most often and even their only once every 3 years
@@The_MEMEphis Hey does your keyboard have a .
@@POVwithRC guilty as charged
Keeping the same form factor will increase manufacturing efficiencies and lower cost that way. But then you have this battery issue
Technically speaking, Apple could release new Vision Pro with updated M3 chip instead of M2 which it has now. It has better graphics performance and is more efficient. Longer battery life. Boom, I made second gen Vision Pro just by replacing chip inside
Probably a couple of days
the better it gets the more expensive it shall be and thats how things work so people gotta stop waiting
I think we won’t get a revised Apple Vision Pro until 2028, but we will see the more affordable version Apple Vision within 2 years.
I think AR glasses will be very useful. You could use them for navigation.
I think they don’t know yet
Every two or three years sounds right like air pod max
It'll be 4 years for the AirPods Max in December. Starting to wonder if they will refresh that
@@michaelcorcoran8768 I was gifted a pair, I would never have purchase them but they were ahead of their time just based on the quality and user experience. Maybe since so many years have passed they will price them better! They definitely will release another even if the price don’t come down. I am a believer will get another new gen later.
Maybe by the year 2033 vision 2 will come out
why do people think big announcements will happen every year do you see ps5s every year or new iphone designs or airpods maxs every year no
Because that’s the expectation that they themselves set up. If they were releasing new iPhones, every two years and new iPads, every two years and new, Apple watches, every two years rather than every single year, then the expectation would be different.A
i pacifically am talking about big advancements in tech that change things not small upgrades to tech we already have you missed the point@@PassportBrosBusinessClass
apple should focus on gaming
Where still waiting on a cheaper version of AirPods max that where rumoured
Apple needs to have an always on eyesight display or remove it entirely
Always-on would defeat the purpose. It comes on to show people you are looking at them and turns off when you can't see them.
I’ll tell you they won’t remove eyesight but improve it. The goal is for it to appear transparent. They’ll now double down on the persona technology, especially bc of Facetime. Also it differentiates the AVP from its competitors. Also AVP is expensive but Apple doesn’t need to care. Apple is a luxury brand so they don’t have to rigorously stick to budgets. Meta couldn’t implement eyesight bc of the costs, the RnD and the manufacturing inexperience. The second gen AVP will most likely still - even without eyesight - be above 2k for the minimum configuration. Eyesight is not a pro feature, it’s a new standard for Apple. Also eyesight above all will indicate to the common consumer wether the glasses improved or not with every generation , i.e. is eyesight clearer, did the bezels shrink, did it become more brighter etc.
Lastly humans are social beings. We get wary when we can’t see someone’s eyes. We don’t know how to interpret their emotions. Remember the studies from covid that discussed this with the face masks. Anyways without eyesight the future would be boxes over eyes even in discussions due to both using passthrough. Such a device could never become mainstream.
Why would Apple give up such a unique and advanced feature?
Always love the skits! ❤
AVP is a “would be nice to have” rather than “must have product”. The lightweight headset and magical experience with crazy pass through that resembles reality is most likely another 10 years away. Thanks to all early adopters for pouring their cash into Apple’s R&D. Apple will have one more shot at this. If even the next iteration is equally overpriced, the momentum might be gone.
Dude no, eyesight has to stay and be improved. When you put AVP with eyesight next to a headset without it, it becomes so obvious why it needs to be there, especially as these get lighter, cheaper and meant to be worn around ppl. you’re going to want that feature. It actually takes the headset from being a nerdy cyberpunk cyclops toy to soemthing that makes it clear what’s actually going on “in there”, and it becomes a device, not a toy. Until we have true AR glasses with transparent displays a perfected version of eyesight would be game changing for adoption. That’s really important, I’m shocked at the shortsightedness of this take.
Do you also want AirPods Max to show your ears when in transparency mode?
@@TailosiveTech no because I don’t use my ears as a vital visual component for communication..
If you wear sunglasses you don’t use your eyes for visual context either.
Apple has already managed to ruin school children using EarPods and iPhone. Once they manage to make a version of the Apple vision, pro cheap enough for the average school student to buy, I would say that will be the end of school entirely.
Same thing but cheaper please.
Leave it to apple to release a product that already feels outdated at launch
🤣
maybe they'll just update the chip to an AI chip in couple years... incoporating generative video AI-AR would be crazy... like it turns your friends into realistic zombies 🧟♀😅
First world spoiled people have no clue what it takes to build one of these technological marvels. They want their bald-tired Toyota to drive like a Ferrari for the same price as the beater car.
2028
It is literally painful to wear. After discovering the light seal that it shipped with doesn’t fit, I had to drive to the Apple Store an hour away, with cancer causing me tremendous pain because they wouldn’t help me over the phone, they identified a light seal that might fit, but it would take a month to arrive. When I I inquired as to how I would avoid missing the return window while I waited for the correct light seal, they informed me I have to return it and buy a new one, but I can’t do it at the store, so I wasted a two hour trip in agony so they could tell me they couldn’t help.
This product sucks, this company sucks, and listening to you shill for them like they did us a favor makes me genuinely sick.
I mean, besides tech enthusiasts, who cares?
Buy Meta quest 3 instead
18 months. There you can skip the video
Why you hating lmfao
Like notifications on and all 💀
Why buy a non pro version when the pro one isn’t worth over $1000 in its current form.
I think I’ll wait for other voices to chime in. Tech nerds are funny.
They have never been trendsetters or ever had the ability to see the diamond in the rough. They don’t pick the winners and losers in society. They basically fix broken gadgets and explain complicated things. Tech CZcamsrs are the worst. All personal computing pros and cons are based on the gold standard of the laptop. They were presented with an absolutely amazing piece of technology to realistically work and consume entertainment in 3 dimensional environments and they only cared if a Mac could open two windows.
Apples not gonna get to set the pace here. Quest and other headsets will iterate and Apple will be forced to innovate faster
Not needed
it was dead on delivery. heavy and hard on the eyes, no killer apps and it couldn't game. if the next can't play half-life Alyx AND nail everything else, it'll fail too. they won't be able to give it away.
Shuck out the innards for ski goggles...
At this point I think the emphasis needs to be on immersive software development. The dinosaurs is incredible but there needs to be hundreds or even thousands of apps of that qualify. I suppose that games will get much of the early development attention. As I do not have any interest in games, for me those won’t count. I want virtual travel experiences.
