I attended the world premier in LA and I was laughing for hours. The director literally had no idea how bad this movie was. He actually said that if had a bigger budget he could have hired better actors and made a better movie, while the actors were seated next to him. The producer announced that if the funding was there, he would make a third installment Birdemic 3: Sea Eagles. The director saw a news story about seagulls in Vietnam and misunderstood it as "Sea Eagles" and nobody could convince him otherwise. I even got to meet Juliette Danielle, the female lead in The Room, who attended the event.

It's so strange to see someone so full of themselves that they can't even see when their own actors are making fun of the movie and trying to get away with shit right in front of them.
VICE did a mini-documentary on him that really made the point hit home. The guy has had a surprising amount of support, personally and professionally, and he’s clearly a hard worker. But despite giving many opportunities, he just sort of refuses to budge from the idea that he’s some unmatched cinematic genius. He’s (allegedly) tanked Studio deals and lost our other opportunities, all out of a refusal to make small concessions in how he does things. On the one hand, it’s quite sad. On the other hand, his ego is so massive it feels somewhat deserved.
From what I know all his projects have made money, which is more than can be said compared to the average movie projects. Guys like him and Asylum productions get a lot of hate but they found a way to hire people and make money. The actors laughing at him are idiots. They think they are above this but we'll never see them anywhere. Meanwhile this guy continues to make movies.
The scene, where the kid says about the sister, who got sick after eating fish cooked by Rod; the best scene in the history of movies! That scene has so much emotional depth, sadness and tragedy and I absolutely feel the pain. The kids wanted happy meals and they had to eat his cookings. That's just awful!!
To be fair on behalf of the actor he was forced to read the lines exactly how they are written on the script. The director wouldn't budge even when told the lines were broken English. Lol

The 'driving' scene was especially hilarious as you can see the car (with them in it) in the background of the composited scenes. I genuinely thought I'd seen some terrible movies, but never in my wildest dreams..
James Nguyen probably included the excessively long driving scenes because the original Hitchcock movie, _The Birds_ , has scenes like that too. What Nguyen didn't take into account, was that back then going to a movie was a major event, so some extra runtime wasn't necessarily a bad thing. But now that you can access more movies than you could ever watch with a few clicks, nobody wants that runtime padding.
You can tell the Bill character is who the actual director wants to vicariously live through. He's the quintessential handsome dude who has a great job and gets the girl. I say this because on the first film, Nguyen keeps name dropping the fact that he lives in Hollywood as if it was a major life achievement.
6:11 - Tom Favaloro is clearly trolling the director here. He and Whitney both seemed to be hamming it up at different times during this film to see what they could get away with.

I'd love to see a review of "Sinbad: The Fifth Voyage" (2014). This is another one where one guy writes, directs, produces, edits, lights, caters, stars, etc. The outlier here is that said guy (Shahin Sean Solimon) somehow got Patrick Stewart to do a 90 second voice over intro. And that's what sucked me into the movie, as Solimon gave Stewart top billing on the cast of stars. The riddle behind Stewart getting painted with this, and the claymation stop motion figures could make this a fun movie to review. And yes, this is just one of a list of one star movies that this guy has pumped out :)
