I'm one of those crazies that are awake and watching Way Too Early with Jonathan Lemire!
Jonathan Lemire seems like an incredible human all around. Hilarious. Friendly. Crazy hard worker. And very very good on tv.
"We'll treat you like any other defendant" no the f you won't, any other defendant that violated a court order 12 times would not just get fined, they'd go tf to jail.
Damn straight. Throughout this entire ordeal, I keep reminding myself of the obvious. There are two types of defendants - wealthy and not wealthy. To boldface lie about equality between the two is an insult to anyone with a brain in the head.
How about mentioning that the judge has no ability to raise the fine? It is set by NY law. He even addressed it in his order.
It's very misleading to leave that fact out.

She doesn’t want out. She wants to show Trump that she’s the monster he’s looking for to set up concentration camps for “illegals” and to carry out his “final solution”. That she would never do what Pence did, actually obey the Constitution and the law.
Sadly, I think that the statute of limitations is up because she apparently killed her dog 20 years ago... but I hope that authorities are investigating what is happening on her farm now...

@@Kenzalina_ oh...I did not hear about that. I hope that is looked into by the authorities. also just read that apparently South Dakota was the last state to make Animal cruelty a felony (this was in 2014) and still has pretty loose laws so is ranked 40th in the country for Animal Protections.

Jonathan is the main reason I listen to Morning Joe. Joe himself is obnoxious and loves the sound of his own big ole head roaring. He's boorish and rude and talks over everyone else. I also like most of the rest of the crew, but Jonathan is the best. I loved "comprehensive wind up." Perfectly Seth (accurate and kind).

I love Seth & I know this isn't a news show but I'm a little upset with how he made the contempt sound. the judge said he was VERY upset that 9000$ was all that he was LEGALLY allowed to fine Trump. 1000$ for each of the 9 charges he was guilty of. And he made it sound like jail was much more of a threat for further violations than Seth did. He's pissed!

Have any of the protesters stopped to ask if what they are doing is putting food in the Gazans mouths and/or getting the hostages released? All the money it’s cost for them to do their virtue signaling could’ve been sent to Gaza. If the college divested from Israel today, would a cease fire go into effect? No.
People can literally do both collective action and donations. The fact that having enough money to donate to charities is out of most college students' means notwithstanding, if all the colleges divest from Israeli support, that's millions of dollars that can't be used to murder more Palestinians.
Protesting is also a way for citizens to make their voices heard on issues. If Congress and President Biden see that one of the largest voting blocks in the country (young people 18-24) is this passionate about ending the g*nocide, they will realize that if they want to keep their jobs they will *have* to remove support for Israel. If that happens, a ceasefire becomes much more likely as Israel would run out of the ability to keep financing its assaults on the people of Gaza and The West Bank.
At this moment there is literally nothing these students can do directly to end the g*nocide themselves. They have to rely on their representatives. And how else will their reps know how they feel besides receiving calls and letters, and seeing protests?
If you're wondering what you would have done during the Civil Rights movement, the Vietnam War, or even the h*olocaust, you're doing it now: complaining about the student movements trying to end those atrocities. Movements that, historically speaking, were pivotal to making real change happen.
