Yes, they did know about the emails. Costello testified to the Grand Jury a year ago. So not only did the defence know what Costello would say on the witness stand, but they had a year to prepare!
I'm guessing that no competent lawyer would willingly have called Costello to the stand, given the emails, and his previous testimony to the Grand Jury. I have a feeling that it was Trump who wanted Costello's testimony. After all, Trump spent the weekend listening to the Fox mouthpieces "suggest" that Costello would be a valuable witness for the defence. This is just a guess, but I think Trump was still fuming over Michael Cohen's testimony, and being the bitter, vengeful, and intellectually challenged person he is, he figured Costello would be the guy to rip apart Michael Cohen's testimony. Trump was wrong. :)

Because while Trump was president he forced the DOJ to remove his name from the allegations . It was not until HIS ATTORNEY GENERAL BILL BAR - left office after the insurrection that the case was marked as complete allowing it to be reopened under the new attorney General . That is the process as I have learned listening to the explanation of how cases are handled from start to finish .
Trump tried to overturn the election by threatening election officials in Georgia, and we all heard the call. Somehow that gets ignored, while some insignificant payment to a pornstar is everybody's A-1 top priority. It's pathetic, this country is completely lost. Maybe I'm the crazy one, but IMHO trying to quash a story about an affair with a pornstar is pretty understandable, and pretty harmless, in comparison to pressuring people to fabricate votes.

I pray for an orange jump suit BUT, do NOT try to second guess a jury. I WILL say, after being on five juries, that, at least my experience, was that everyone in that room too the case totally seriously, we went over the evidence, discussed parts of it when necessary and came up with a verdict. What seem obvious to us may NOT be so obvious to every juror there. THEY have no heard any analysis we have, and people are people and we DO all have biases. There ARE, supposedly, a couple of attorneys on the jury and I can't say if that's a good or bad thing.
In my jury experience it seems that 3 or 4 people "run" the deliberations, 3 people are hopelessly ignorant, and the rest just want to get done and out of there.
I don't think she was actually in the courtroom. It was like she had to give a 1000 word report so she just kept talking in circles and double spacing. 😂

Is anyone in @nbcnews watching Andrea Mitchell's on camera performance over the past several months. She is constantly struggling to get the words out. She has had a distinguished career, but it is now time to recognize that it is time to step aside.
She could retire at any time if she wanted to. Her husband is a multimillionaire (likely billionaire) and she's been earning good money for decades. It's obvious MSNBC doesn't want to put her out to pasture and she doesn't want to spend any more time with Alan Greenspan than she has to. I just fast forward whenever they put her on, she says nothing worth listening to. It's just a time filler while everyone else checks their phones for updates from the AP feeds.
