The Ridgeline Sport I ordered in early November came in...Silver/Black... So far three tanks of fuel.
Regular gas: general driving set on Economy...21 mpg at the pump...gauge said 23.
90 octane non-ethanol: general driving but a little more highway in the Standard drive setting...23 mpg...gauge said 23.7
    91 octane non-ethanol: all highway in the Economy mode....27.9 mpg...gauge said 27.3
Now filled with some 90 octane mixed with the rest of the 91 non-entanol. Will be doing a 175 mile trip tomorrow...
So far it has been great...

Thanks for the review! We love our Ridgeline which is pushing at nearly 200,000 miles. Time to find a new one. My husband wants the new Ford Maverick, but I want a Ridgeline because it has more room in the backseat. We have two grandchildren so that means bulky car seats. I also love the side opening tailgate feature and the under the bed storage area, and I just like the look of it. It has a bit of a cult following as we always give each other a double take when we see each other on the road. It is a fun truck.

Also we the people who developed more than basic ideas for the up in coming models should definitely get a chance to test drive the updated version. The base models should be for those who are completely comfortable with that option. But it's 2023 models that are being designed now. So it should have more unique options with a pricetag of 50,000+ where's the love of honda heads gonna bless those who want just a pinch more performance 🤣. Bigger factory rims in tires off-road tires should come standard . If honda don't wanna increase the bed length yes a hitch hook traveling trailer surrounded by a cage should be available with a top trim BlackOut version. I'm just saying it's a pinch more than a midsize truck to haul more lumber, drywall , concrete, sand, gravel, clean ups ,

Started with the 2007, replaced that with the 2013 and have replaced that with the 2022. Improvements have been made to each new generation. This one is much quieter inside than the last. The sound system is better as well including the bed speaker system. Looked at the Maverick Hybrid but its just too small to be comfortable. Nearly 200,000 on each of the last two so I have high hopes for this one.

I finally sold my 1997 F150 before it needed any major repairs. I'm considering a loaded 2022 Maverick, but it's price in maxed-out Lariat trim comes close the the price of the Sport Ridgeline.
I really like the Maverick, but when it comes to reliability it won't hold a candle to Hondas legendary reliability, and I also really liked driving the Ridgeline too.

Have 3000 miles on our 2022 RTL-E. Sold our camper so we traded in a 2020 Tundra to go back to mid-size. Have also owned a 2015 Colorado and a 2014 Tacoma. The Ridgeline is a super comfortable vehicle in all respects. Tows our ATVs with no issues. We are getting about 25mpg highway, around 20 overall. The truck vs non-truck debate is silly. It has a pickup bed, it’s a truck. Just happens to drive like a nice SUV. That said, I really don’t care if others don’t think it’s a truck….especially Tacoma owners. That was one uncomfortable, dated, strange shifting vehicle. Can’t figure why they are so popular.

Now have close to 6K miles on the clock and fuel economy keeps getting better. Last several tanks have been 24-26 mpg. The last one the meter showed 26 and actual at the pump was 26.3...with very little highway driving. Highest the meter has shown so far was 29.2 on an all highway trip. Speed was 70+- mph. The meter and pump have been +- .3mpg every tank.
Also just recently replaced the tri-fold bed top with an ARE full hard cap...what a difference...makes it into a station wagon without all the noise coming from the back. Went to buy a tailgate lock only to find out from the dealer an electronically operated one was already installed in all 2020-2022 models...saved me $100 in a manual one. Now the whole rear compartment is secured. The glass is so darkly tinted it is VERY hard to see into the bed.
With the windows down there is a LOT of wind buffeting... Added VentShades and with the front windows all the way down and the rear 1/2 way down...nothing... And the windows can be left cracked without having to worry about the rain...
This vehicle just keeps getting better and better...

Thanks for your review of this awesome American design and built truck. I do understand what you mean by car like, but I do believe this kind of language that makes others not consider this truck a truck...I don't need a full size for everyday use and don't need anything smaller either....this truck has everything I need from a everyday truck and use full size truck when needed. But a missing part of those comparing to trucks that are more off Roady, is that very few people uses them for their capabilities. Also, to compare to full size.. they fail to mention that for example, the capability of F150, F250, F350, F450, F550, F650, F750 are all different capabilities and use, so not very smart to compare.

Odd....Changed the oil in the Ridgeline and rotated the tires at the same time...16K mikes exactly. When I first bought the vehicle I noticed how quiet the engine was both when in the vehicle and standing next to it while at idle. When the dealer changed the oil at 7500 miles a few days later I noticed I could hear the engine while at idle for the first time... After I changed the oil, Penzoil 0W-20 5 qt. topped off with DuraLube, a couple days later I was sitting at a stop light and thought that the engine idle stop had come on. When I looked at the tac it was showing the vehicle was running...now I am back to not hearing the engine again at idle...
Also fuel mileage... Before the dealer oil change I was getting 28-30 on the highway. After the change it dropped off to no better than 28. The one trip that I have taken since I changed the oil, and it's the same trip every month, was 30.2....

Gas mileage keeps going up... On a recent trip from NH to Connecticut the meter was at 31.2 mpg from southern NH to northern Connecticut where it gets very hilly. Once to my destination just south of Hartford the meter read 29.2 and the pump mileage was 29 mpg even. Nothing but Regular grade gas is being used.
With lots of traffic and traffic lights over the next four days the best I could squeeze out of it was 20 mpg by the time I was headed home. Once on the highway again was able to bring the mileage up to 25.0. Ran the rest of the tank down locally and ended with a meter reading of 25.6 and 25.2 at the pump.
Now closing in on 7K at which point it will go in for an oil change...
...and another Ridgeline owner bought the tri-fold bed top from me for their 2019 TLE.

Although it's not a pick up truck' it has the common element of being both an offroader (to a certain extent) and a great driver. Looks cool too imo. In the end; I prefer to avoid turbos when I can. Just turned 15K miles...last three highway tanks of gas were 28.5, 28.3 and again today 28.3 when running between 68-72 mph....175-350 miles at a time.. At 75-80 mph fuel economy drops to 26+-. This is in hilly country not flats.
Had the free oil change at 10k at the dealership. When I had the state inspection done a few weeks ago they "recommended" that the brake calipers be lubricated and the differential oil be changed. I regularly change my differential oil but it is every 30-50k not 15...any thoughts on this? I have known people who have NEVER changed their differential fluid and never had a problem.
Very few things I don't like:
    1) The button that eliminates the engine stop at stop lights need to be changed to once pushed to eliminate that feture it stays gone till requested. Having to remember to push the button every time is a PITA. Why is the ECONO button "on" or "oiff" permanently...the engine stop should be the same.
    2) "Fog Lights"...aren't really.... They need to be BRIGHTER and also be able to be run when the lighting switch is in the RUNNING LIGHTS mode...they do nothing except look cool when running in conjunction with the headlights...
3)Heated mirrors....should be also standard equipment on the SPORT MODEL. The mirrors are already electrically operated so adding the heating element would not cost much and is a major safety feature.
    4) Not having "hot" USB ports unless the ignition is on is also a real PITA...
The electronics are just beyond me but that is my fault not the vehicles...
Other than those minor things could not be happier with the vehicle, especially after adding the hard cap...

Now have 7500 on the clock and about to go in for a tire rotation and oil change.
On a trip to Ct. last week the meter was up to 31.2 mpg at one point which is the highest it has ever been. On the exact same trip as done two months ago, the mileage was 30.0 at the pump (30.2 meter) which is 1 mpg higher than the best so for.. After filling up there was around town driving for three days in a lot of traffic. 80 miles total....meter said 19.2 and the pump said 19.0...worst tank ever. I can see how people who have a lot of stop and go and little highway miles would never break 20 mpg. Where I live I average 24-26 mpg around town..highway 28-30.
Using the mpg meter on the display, it is very easy to get a lot better mpg than the truck is rated for. Heavy foot it, even on the highway, and you'll be down around 20. Have found that the best crusing speed mileage is 67-71. Faster than that mpg starts to drop off. On the way home I ran 70+- and got 27.2 mpg on the meter. On the way down ran 60-65 and got 30.0 at the pump.
Still absolutely LOVE the ARE cap...was expansive but worth every penny.
Everyone who rides in the Ridgeline comments on how smooth and quiet it is...three of my friends who drive a Chrysler mini-van, Toyota Tacoma and a Nissan Frontier are planning a Ridgeline when it is time for a change.

I think they haven't changed anything yet that really needs changing. ( First of all I love hondas ! But they need higher suspension with a 4" liftkit. Step bars 3.8 litters. More leg room , front and back. A honda traveling trailer with a additional 5foot bed . 350 hp🤔. 1 foot wider/6" inches from driver side to passengers seats. The 2023 models should be XL ridgeline models . Also they should develop a unique cage that snap on and off the truck bed. For items like stoves ,refrigerators, dryers ,washers and other items over 36"s taller than the bed. Plus a roof rack. This should be on Honda Ridgeline top edition Blackout Edition multiple options for color each customer choose. Not just black and white color only. Top trim levels only!

I'd like to see the Ridgeline have a hybrid model. The only thing that shied me away from the vehicle is the MPG.

It has been interesting to see how many people want a hybrid option for the Ridgeline. With so many asking for this surely the time will come when Honda will make it a reality. Thank you for sharing!

Are there any 2022 Ridgeline owners who can testify what their mpg is & how many miles they get on a full tank?

It's not a truck .. because it doesn't have an uncomfortable buckboard ride ... and is too quiet ... and doesn't skitter around tuns like those ungainly full size trucks... there I said ... what to I own? a 2021 Ridgeline RTL-E which replaced my "MOAB READY" 2019 RAM 1500 ... thanks Keith Chicago

Great review! Bring back the shifter, lose the captain's chairs, and follow the industry trend of boxy exteriors, and the next Ridgeline will be perfect.

E Dub, it’s my observation that the other trucks are copying the Ridgeline body style. I luv the paddle shifters, no need for a console shifter.
