If I didn’t like full size trucks soooo much I would definitely consider this truck… I’m sure this truck is enough of a truck for probably 75% of the people out there……😊👍🚗
Just saw the 2022 Consumer Reports. The Ridgeline KILLED it in the mid-size truck category. It was like it was in a class of it's own, it was so much better than all other mid-size trucks. It's absolutely the best option out there.
I've had my 2020 Ridgeline Sport for half a year. This is the first pickup I've owned. It's not perfect but it fits all my needs. Love the smooth ride and trunk. AWD is great for bad weather driving and gets descent gas mileage in city. Great for moving furniture and Home Depot runs, taking bikes to the park. Overall, couldn't be happier with it. Looking forward to years of reliability.
If the RL had adaptive cruise with stop-and-go, like the majority of Honda’s lineup, Id buy one in a heartbeat. That’s one feature that’d be hard to give up in busy rush hour traffic since I’m used to having it in my current vehicle. Also interior features on the Accord like the center infotainment screen and driver-display screen should be brought to the RL. I’m aggravated at Honda for being so stubborn.
All 2022 Honda Ridgeline trim levels come standard equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control.
Got inside the Ridgeline and was impressed with the interior room. However, the dash and infotainment system are crying for a serious update.
More of a truck than the Hyundai Santa Cruz...
Considering truck work equals payload. The Ridgeline has more payload than higher trim half ton pickups. Ram Limited I’ve seen payloads under 1k pounds. So when you have low payload the tow rating can’t be met before running out of payload.
I have 2019 Ridgeline RTL-T...Honda nailed this truck, it's fantastic thing to drive
Who the f cares if it’s a truck or not?! If you need a comfy ride that has a bed with some offroad/towing capabilities then get one. If you’re worried what other people might think about your manhood then don’t get one.
Exactly! Most guys who buy full size trucks are short and wimpy. Bigger truck gives them that false sense of toughness 😂
I swear people just hate on the RL because it’s a Honda… but it’s made right here in the US (Alabama) just like Big 3… and hell the Maverick is made in Mexico… Not sure why people are so accepting of the Maverick but not the RL
What's wrong with the Maverick being made in Mexico? It's half the price of the ridgeline!
@@me-hc4bv absolutely nothing is wrong with the Maverick, that’s my point. Maverick and Ridgeline are both great trucks but people hate on the Ridgeline bc it’s a “pilot/odyssey with a bed” but the Maverick is “built ford tough” when in reality theyre both unibody pickups and serve the exact same purpose.
Ford Fanbois are everywhere on every Ridgeline CZcams videos making fun of it for being a unibody before the maverick came out.
@@jakes5530 the Chevy Silverado is just the suburban with a bed😉
I’ve had my 2021 Ridgeline for 6 months. It’s a great truck. Everything I need. Traded a Nissan Titan for it. Nice ride.
I have 2022 Honda Ridgeline sport oh I love it
If I ever had to down size from my f150 I’d consider a ridge line. I would even like to see possibly a hybrid option in the future. I would’ve like the powerboost version of my f150 but not for $4,500 option and it would’ve been the first year for that power train
Hoping Honda decides to make a full sized pickup some day or a hybrid pickup. Thinking of making Ridgeline my next truck once the chip shortage is ever overcome & dealers have units on their lots.
I almost bought a Ridgeline, but the cost of a new bed topper made the total the same as a Pilot so I got the Honda Pilot instead.
God bless you for previewing the Ridgeline
To me the bed and tailgate are ergonomic works of art. The only reason I have a Tacoma instead was the TFS financing rate.
Watching this Honda Ridgeline truck while I wait in this long TSA line at 5:44am
@Kunani Savoie Any luck with the 🕷???
@@leedanielson7452 Oh yes!! I saw 8 Black Widow trucks. I filmed some for Ben 😁
@@Kunani19 Oh great! I look forward to seeing them!😊🕷🕷🕷
I wonder if there was this much discussion about "it's a truck, it's not a truck" when the El Camino was introduced!!
I'd like to see a Trail sport version.
Gotta admit, I used to HATE Ridgelines. The new 2021 and newer design changed my mind. This thing has the capability to do anything another truck can do. I mean a cool design, AWD, off-road capabilities, decent mpg, and a V6 engine, I’m sold. I custom built one with the “Sport” trim level and was surprised at the decent price for even a midsize truck.
I always exceed the EPA MPGs.....light foot, Econ on, keep around 65 on hwy = 27+ mpg.
It's a fantastic vehicle. Call it wharever you want. (Nice video)
If you are trying to set an all time speed record for the fastest car video…….I think you get the trophy 🏆!!!!!’ 🤣🤣🤣
I love my '21 Ridgeline RTL. It's more than enough truck for 95% of people who drive trucks.
Why does he point out the wheelhouse liner? Are those not standard equipment?
Does the RTL model have navigation?
Does the tonneau cover lock?
Honda ridgeline is a cute little truck
Why is it so much more expensive than others?
I'm not really into sunroofs I prefer to buy vehicles without them. My last car had a sunroof and I never used it
Once in a while. The kids love it but I can do without it too.
Tough call on the truck thing.. you have a good point about functionality. I guess old school needs body on frame. When it was just the Ridgeline I can see not calling it a truck (and I still laugh years ago seeing a first gen with huge squat trying to carry a load) - but now you have the Maverick and others and again you mentioned the payload. So yeah I'd say it's earned being.. not made fun of at least. ;)
This plus now the Mav and SC represent a new class of vehicles that should be called “crossover pickups” - a term coined my Nathan at TFL truck; one of the biggest truck channels on youtube (if youre not familiar). I think it makes perfect sense.
The rear springs need to be replaced occasionally on 1st gen Ridgelines and Pilots, but once you do, no more sag.
I hate why none of these new vehicles have actual shifters anymore! My only complaint besides being so damn expensive.
Just bought a '22 RTL-E. Amazing truck. Fills every need I ever faced in my F-150. I'd prefer a shifter but I only touch it twice on every trip so it's a matter of muscle memory and habit pattern. Two things I really don't like are the Variable Cylinder Management that closes down 3 cylinders when the computer thinks you don't need them. As an engineer, I feel it presents more long term problems than the benefit in minimal gas improvement. First mod was the VCM disable plug . Second is the "auto stop/start". I make sure to disable it at every start up. There's a gadget to permanently disable that too. The stress on the battery, motor mounts, fuel pump and every solenoid is unhealthy to say nothing of the thermal shock loads of stopping a hot engine at every stop light and sign without cooling being supplied. It's a stupid design to appease the god's of fuel economy and climate change that does more harm than good.
The biggest drawback is the price. Too high for what it is. They drop the price 8k and it would sale like hot cakes!
As far as production numbers, Honda doesn't make a lot of it in comparison to the Tacoma or f150. Especially now with the standard AWD and still zero incentives, people are either buying a used Ridgeline or brand new but different make. Here's the crazy part though...many previous 2017-20 2nd gen owners had traded in theirs to the newer resfresh trucky look design.
If you disregard the Truck signs on the roadways, it’s not a Truck. It’s a pickup. Trucks have a 80,000 GVWR. Freightliner,Peterbilt,Kenworth,Mack are trucks. Chevy,Ford,Ram,Toyota,Nissan,Honda are pickups.
When will the hybrid version come out?
If they did, I’m sure the batteries would have to go where the “in bed trunk” is located on the gas model. They’d probably have to delete the spare tire as well and put run-flat tires on it.
did you see the water in the bed yes the cover leaks this pissed me off
As I have commented before, I really like the Ridgeline, EXCEPT that you must pay for AWD that is not necessary for people that do not live in a snow belt and Honda is the last manfacturer using timing belt interference engines that require a $3,000 belt replacement at 90k miles. Something I do not need and something I do not want!
You comment this on every single ridgeline video bro! Build a bridge and get over it! That AWD system is amazing and will help with driving in the rain as well as light offroading. Seriously go troll something else "Clark kent" you ain't no super man bro
@@mikekolb238 AWD was a $3,400 option before and now it is standard with the cost added to all models. I had a truck with 4wd hi/low and auto AWD and never used any of it in 145,000 miles living in the sun belt. If the Ridgeline is not designed for offroad (Honda words not mine) then why does everyone have AWD along withe added cost (initial, maintenence, lower fuel economy, etc.)? As far as the interference timing belt issue, the sales people are not going to tell you about that "routine" mantenance item. Look at a video on what has to be done to change a timng belt and just hope they get everything back together without leaks. Why are Ridgeline fan-boys afraid for people to hear about the not so good stuff?
No one is listening to you. You're always on every Ridgeline vedio as a broken record lol. They're getting sold out.
@@squidusn71 I simply want people to know what the maintenance costs of a Ridgeline are. Are you a Honda rep that doesn't want this information to be known? If people don't mind the cost (something only Honda does) then they can buy all the Honda's they want. Honda simply doesn't want to spend their money to redesign their engines (like every other manufacturer has done) as long as the consumer is will to spend their money.
@@clarkkent9080 People buy Hondas for their reliability. Do you go to other domestic vehicle videos and do the same with their POS brands? How about a certain domestic timing chain driven v6 with a $6k waterpump replacement cost before a Honda timing belt gets its replacement. Why do people LIKE YOU buy 4x4 and not use it then spend more for bigger wheels and tires just for looks only to lower mpg and wear out parts faster. Hardly any towing or offroading are done as well. Like I said, Hondas are reliable and that's why people gravitate towards it whether they know the maintenance costs or not.
Haters: " its NOT a truck!" Then buys a Maverick.
I owned a 2017 tacoma biggest piece of crap. I now have 2022 rtle ridgeline way better in every aspect.
could use a lift kit, id get this over the passport
Traxada has one, looks pretty decent but $1500 is pretty expensive
Why don’t you slow down when your talking? What’s the rush?
how much poh pag cash
You'd make a better auctioneer than car/truck reviewer,
No, the Ford Ranger tows 7,500lbs...
Calm down, too much coffee
I once saw them called an SUV with a birth defect…so I guess it’s all in the eye of the beholder.
Honda Ridgeline folks: have you checked the price of gas lately? I love your truck but NOT with the terrible gas mileage in your current offerings. Bring on your FULL hybrid in 2023 and you will triple your sales if it is AWD, tow 5,000 lbs, and gets Combined EPA of 32-35 MPG. The design stuff is great, but bring on the efficiency.
Yeah. Ford blew it offering the Maverick hybrid only in FWD rather than AWD.
To be fair, you called the Ford Maverick and it Hyundai Santa Cruz trucks. By that definition it would be a truck but no real man would ever want one and drive it around. You know he would just be made fun of.
Odd. My neighbor drives one. He walks with a limp due to shrapnel received in Vietnam-2 purple hearts, a silver star and a bronze star. Not a man I'd make fun of.
A real man is confident with his identity, letting his masculinity speak for itself. A man like this doesn't need a vehicle to improve how others perceive him. So Isaiah, you are indeed confused on what a "real man" is.
All this is is a minivan with two row seating and a truck style bed
He talks we too fast and then doesn’t take any breaths between sentences. Hard to understand.
Please talk slowly
The guys delusional if he thinks the Ridgeline rides nicer than any full size two wheel drive halfton pickup
