      I was I guess comparing more to Australia… and in the us obviously there are major problems (I think worse than Uruguay) but that isn’t the point of the video. It’s about things we don’t like here in Uruguay.

      I agree with you. Many countries have trash “everywhere,” so the way she said it felt like it implied Uruguay was the only country, which is inaccurate.

      Ever been to Thailand? Dirty, trash everywhere. Still one of the coolest countries you could ever visit. Could easily live there.

    There seem to be a lot of unnecessary defensiveness in the comments section (maybe goes back to the points made in the video?) These guys made a well balanced, unbiased review of what they observed living there. No shade, hate, or finger pointing. Just their observations.

      it does seem here there are far more "small businesses" like little corner stores or young people re-selling old clothes or importing makeup and re-selling etc. not large scale maybe, but on the ground level! any most people seem willing to support and shop locally.

    Defensiveness of people, maybe your attitude is the reason... I live there since more than 7 years, and I NEVER had any problem with rudes locals, at the opposite, uruguayan people are very friendly with foreigners

    • @MaddieAle
      @MaddieAle  Před rokem +7

      Politley, I think its impossible for you to know how foreigners are treated unless you are a foreigner. I have had SOME people be super nice to me and others just be very rude. Its more if I don't understand something, people can be very quick to make you feel stupid for not knowing something, that only a local would know. All my international friends agree with me. But again SOME URUGUAYANS are the nicest people i've ever met so it is in no way ALL Uruguayans, but it absolutely happens and no it's not "my attitude" because I go out of my way to be nice and smile, more than any local i've seen.

      @@MaddieAle I am Belgian and left europe 10years ago. I traveled in the continent and Uruguayan people were always incredibly friendly with me from Colonia to Rocha, I worked by night in Montevideo, I live in Ciudad de la Costa and felt in love with this country because People never made me feel as a stranger, they adopted me day1 with my poor accent and I was really surprised to see this negative point. My intention is not to be rude, but I am pretty sure something in your actitude is the reason or I am the luckiest guy because it never happened to me and I can't hide physically I am a stranger.

  • @marossi0814
    @marossi0814 Před 10 měsíci +9

    The trash everywhere??, personally I see my country as being pretty clean, the trash you may see sometimes may be from the homeless people that go in the trash dumpsters and make a mess taking the trash out. I live in the Washington D.C. area, being the capital of the U.S. and seeing so many homeless people here living in tents and occupying the city parks and circles, trash and rats everywhere. Uruguayans are defensive towards our country because we know we are not perfect, just like every country we have things to improve on but when a foreigner tries to bring us down we make sure that before you talk dirt about Uruguay, take a look at your country and compare before you open your mouth, the word "HATE" is a very powerful word, I think the word dislike is a better word to use, you don't see me making videos about the bad things I see in this country!
