- If you're in Uruguay for just one day, or 24 hours, here is what I would recommend doing.
Of course there are so many more things to see in the country, including Colonia del Sacramento and Punta Del Este, but if you are on a time crunch, then stick to the suburbs of Ciudad Vieja, Parque Rodo, Pocitos and Carrasco, to pack the most into your vacation.
Everything from coffee spots, lunch ideas, museum lists, walking paths and of course, the nightlife. So whether you're coming with your family and kids, or you're young, single, and ready to mingle, there is something here for everyone.

Now I get why you were all over town the other day! Hahaha
I'm always all over town haha but most of this was filmed in october, a few places were closed that day so i did have to go back and re-film some stuff to fill in the gaps! but i wanted to make sure it was all actually possible and not unrealistic to do in one day :)

Hello maddie & ale I ve enjoyed this video so much I recomending pay a visit to the museum los andes 1972 its the los andes survivals ppl now with the society of the snow movie its a world wide hit movie nominated for the oscar as one of the best non english speaking films .......PS your could try free walking tours with the tourists arriving at the port with the criusiers liners with as many as 4000-5000 ppl every day you could show them around take them in you combi van around a city tour and charge them ten bucks an hour 😂😂😂😂😮😮😮😮cheers from dove town 🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩👌👌👌👍👍👍👏👏👋👋👋

Is it Montevideo safe? As whole Uruguay?
Uruguay is safe in general, but Montevideo is one of the safest parts.
If you want to know more I made a whole video, all about safety in Uruguay, and talking about the safest neighbourhoods.
The outskirt neighbourhoods of Montevideo are one of the most dangerous within the country, but from a tourist point of view there's no reason to visit them. The only exception would be to visit Montevideo's fortress museum at Cerro's neighbourhood, where it's advisable to look before hand when it's open and visit by taxi when it's open during daytime.
As a whole Uruguay is safeish but depends on who you ask, where you are going and at what time of day and season.
I would like to visit for a month. Where would be the best place to rent to start from?
excelent question, it depends a lot on your situation. I personally like pocitos, but it depends if you're planning to get the bus a lot, travel around... do you want to be near the ocean?
