The blame has to be on the management and Pioli.
    1. Management: A 37-year-old Giroud is playing 90 minutes in a crucial CL match. Milan needs a mobile and clinical center forward to relieve the wingers.
    2. Pioli: all the big matches Milan has played so far, were disastrous. Because the setup was poor. We keep exposing our defenders to 1v1 situations. Go and rewatch all the key moments in these matches and a pattern will manifest before your eyes. Pioli has done an excellent job up to this moment, but Milan must move forward without him, period.

Pulisic does Ghost games but leave it to you to pick him out on a game where he was 3/3 on dribbles, 3 key passes, 8/10 ground duels and the top ranked player on sofascore ( 7.5)and on futmob (7.2). We get it you don’t like Pulisic but there were many worse players than him yesterday. He made a mistake and passed the ball to a dinosaur. Giroud has scored 1 goal from the run of play. Leo had Pulisic wide open time and time again but he decided to do tricks and flicks not taking the easy decision. Funny how you say the game was too big for him when he scored and assisted winners in the champions league semis vs the goats of Real Madrid.

Agree w your sentiments. It's a team sport, so cannot blame one player or another. PSG 2nd & 3rd goals were not anything special that good defending could not have prevented. First goal, seen thst before! Should make him shoot w his left. AC Milan just did not convert their chances. Also, the mid-field connections has to do better to move the ball forward. I am getting so f**ng tired of this team! Pioli needs to be fired, Rafael Leao cannot be blamed for this, he is not the whole team. We have no midfield. No playmaker. Everytime the midfield gets the ball they lose it and cause a counter attack. Pioli needs to be fired! He has no clue regarding what players compliment others. This is past ridiculous. If you look at our heat map. You see the most heat in the defense and wings, our midfield is cold. If I was Cardinale I would sack Pioli today. If our wingers have nobody to assist with transitional play then we have no team. Rejinders needs to be benched, Krunic needs to be sold he is garbage, Musah cannot even truly perform because all he is able to do is defend because of the constant poor passing. None of the players move. Nobody passes into space where players should be. This is just garbage at best.

For the past few seasons under this rebuild, it’s very clear that Pioli is not capable in taking the next step with this team. He should of left last season.
Since coming on, we have suffered heavy defeats in big games where we should be getting results regardless who we play. These players are very capable but the logic, tactics, constant excuses and lack of leadership from Pioli is making us look absolutely dreadful in front of the whole world. We can not score for the life of us, its embarrassing.

I agree with everything you said, however I have to defend Pulisic a little. He is scared to make mistakes which is why he didn’t take the shot, but Im sure Giroud talked to him and gave him his vote of confidence, I highly doubt he passes up on those opportunities again. Pulisic has been doing more with less compared to Leao. He goes back and defends, forces passes, recovers the ball, and makes better decisions in the last third (most of the time). Leao doesn’t defend and gives up. He seems like a player that is so amazing, but when things dont go as he wants he gives up. I think some of that rubbed off on Theo, he looks unhappy at the club. Thats all I want to say about this game, it was infuriating to say the least. I heard Brahim is wanting to return to Milan, how do you guys feel about that? I would love to have him back, he fights for the jersey we need that. Also, as a Mexican-American I would love for Milan to sign Santi Gimenez, thoughts???

This owner wants to cancel the past of Milan built by Maldini. It was clear this summer with the sacking of Maldini and the departure of Tonali. The problem is that Maldini wasn't just a DS, he was also the most knowledgeable person in terms of psychologic needs for single players and the team, having been the true leader and captain of a squad filled with legends of the game for over 20 years when he was a player. Now, Cardinale removed him from Ac Milan in the most disrespectful way, and we have to accept that without Maldini, who also made some mistakes as a DS, we will lose the good things that he did. Maignan, Theo and Leao became very good while Maldini was at Milan. He was always present at Milanello when the players were training, giving often words to the coach and the team. Now since the start of the season, Theo, Maignan and Leao don't look the same of the past seasons.
Honestly I'm not against Pioli, because he carried us when we were full of absences in the past, this UCL group is really though and many players are new and still need to settle and have margin to grow. His job is not easy for sure, as we need to obtain results quickly, as well as build an identity and give the time for certain players to grow. Certainly, making the same mistakes against strong teams with similar characteristics in certain areas of the field is frustrating for us, and I'm sure for Pioli too, however it would be even more frustrating seeing other coaches who make more mistakes.
Right now I believe that we need motivation and a somebody who can motivate and give a stronger winning mentality to the players, as it was with Ibrahimovic. If we find that person, then we can make a step forward and look for a better coach if any is available.

Thank you for your videos, I always look forward to them after every match 😍. I agree that Milan is still a work in progress and there are several areas that need improvement. However, one of the main reasons why Milan has not scored any goals in the CL is because we lack a good striker. Over the past three years, the management has brought in players like Mandzukic, Pellegri, Lazitic, Origi, Colombo, and now Jovic. While Giroud has exceeded expectations, Pioli still faces the challenge of not having a reliable attacker. Playing Rebic or now Okafor in that position is not a long-term solution even if they score.

With 2 wins and a draw we can manage depending on other results. There are a couple of scenarios we can see 3 teams having 9 points. This group can come down to the last game.

It's still going to take a very long, long time for this team to be back to what they used to be. Much more still needs to be invested in this team. Because the signings made this season just aren't good enough, and that's just the honest truth. You need players who are able to come alive the most in big, high-profile games. We need players like Mbappe and Haaland. Players who like Kaká, inzaghi, Shevchenko, Seedorf, Maldini could step up in huge games. But unfortunately, there aren't too many players of such caliber around anymore, and the players like that who are around, we can not sign. And it's so frustrating being a Milan supporter because we've been waiting since 2007 for a Champions League title. It's been 16 flippen long years! How long still?? And to be honest, I don't see it happening anytime soon. But in any case... Forza Milan.

@murmor6890 I don't think Milan will ever be able to build such a team again unless a super rich billionaire comes and injects a lot of money for transfers. Because that is what football has become now. All about money. There are very few players these days that have the same pedigree as the generation of players I grew up watching. And I'm not just speaking about AC Milan. Look at all the other teams from the 90's and the early 2000's and quality of players there were around at that time. So I guess we'll have to wait quite a while still. The league or coppa is what Milan should aim for this season. It will take a huge miracle to get out of this group.

Krunic gives a serious display in every match, but being serious is just not enough against sides as PSG. For that you need players that we'll give an extra like Vitinha from PSG, or Adli when he came in.
And we're lacking verticality, the only one that gives you that now is Reijender and Leao, and Theo from time to time. But we need verticality from the hole team, that's why they don't score that much if you keep passing the balls to the wings from side to side, to the back, then go to the front and just do whatever without a clear idea, you're not going to score.

Pioli´s addiction to Krunic is way off the charts. I think we are not going anywhere with Pioli, we need a new coach to take this team to the next level, i know the management is probable to sack him until the end of the season if he won't win something. Also the worst decision of the management this summer mercato was sending Colombo to Monza to brought an almost retired player in Jovic, yes, our only central attacker is Giroud for two seasons in a row that´s just sad, specially when you look at the other side, Inter is getting a lot of goals because they have two young and powerful strikers, we are just depending on a guy who was supposed to be our backed up striker two years ago, and now he is playing every single game because once again we are having players injured and not fit for the role. Another thing the management needs to change is the guys in charge of the physical preparation of this team, bring somebody good like Pintus from RM, every single season we are having players injured for important games.

This team is a good team. They’re exciting, and the players work hard. But they are still not ready to take on the best teams in Europe. They need a little more attacking fire power. More chemistry together, and a boss who has been to the top of the European mountain before.
I do think they’ll respond for the return leg against PSG in Milan. They’re a passionate group and have a professionalism about them. We may have to accept that they are a group ready to compete in Serie A, but not in Europe.

I think there's a common denominator which is Stefano Pioli, he's the one setting up the defence, the strategy, the handling of individual players like Leao's poor decision choices in so many matches, not to mention he's been strongly involved in the Calciomercato for this season (with its pros and cons). I can't stand how this team is slow in passes, lacking of rythm and so dependable of giving the ball to Leao and let's hope he does magic kind of thing without focusing on giving the team a good dynamic and creating good player to player chemistry.
I'm usually against hoping this team to lose, but I hope we get eliminated from the Champions League without even getting the chance to get to the Europa League so we can focus on the Serie A because I don't think this team has the resources neccessary to compete on all fronts, this way the management gets an excuse to sack the coach at the end of the season (I think they will never do it in the middle of it). I'm just so tired of Pioli poor interpretation of football, so tired...

Not going to lie... I'm a new follower of Milan this year, because of the USMNT boys, so I'm seeing a lot of these players with fresh eyes. Leao is supposed to be such an electric player, and while I've seen flashes of greatness, he's been disappointing compared to what the expectations are as someone who didn't regularly watch him play before. Theo, same thing. Flashes, but I see a lot of poor discipline from him with the stupid fouls he picks up and you just can't be doing that as the vice captain. Tomori has been solid this year for the most part but today I don't know if it was because he was trying to do too much or what. Thiaw... I think he could grow into a good defender but these past two games his instinct has been to foul rather than re-set after getting beat. Just get back and get goal side again, the guy has the speed for it, but instead he's trying to stop the play with these dumb fouls. Reijnders was not himself today, I don't know if it's because he's getting worn out or what because he's been playing so much. Krunic was a ghost out there for the most part, Adli would have been a much better choice. As soon as Adli came in there was a definite change in the tempo. Giroud should have come out, he looked like he was playing in pain for quite a bit of the game. Musah had a hard time making progressive balls because he was having to do so much defensively. The midfield was just so flat today. Pulisic I felt was actually one of the better players on the field today, apart from that bad pass that he should have shot. Maybe he didn't realize he'd completely beaten his man there? But he created a few chances otherwise that should have been finished. I know Jovic got injured but Giroud really should have come off. Maybe switch Puli to the left and Leao in the center with Romero on the right, or Puli in the center with Leao and Romero on the wings. I don't like Puli in the false 9 spot though, he can get some air but aerial duels are not a strength of his because of his height, and he's also more of a creator than a finisher. Just a disappointing game overall. As always, appreciate your content, Kush.

our biggest strength became our weakness. teams that have the technical ability to exploit our left channel and half spaces are gonna continue doing so. leao can promise all he wants to increasing work rate but he doesnt know how to press effectively and contain possession while Hernandez is bombing forwards. This is like 60% the coaches fault and 40% on how bad the duo is for this team. When we eventually boot Pioli (I doubt hes staying longer than may '24) Id like to see a better coach try to tinker with these 2 and if it doesnt work then unfortunately one has to go. We can get massive money for either.

  • @garymathe9863
    @garymathe9863 Před 6 měsíci

Not surprised at all. PSG were always gonna hit our shaky defense with 3 quality strikers, one of them being the best in the world.
What's really crazy though is that our offense keeps missing ALL the chances. 0 goals in 3 games? Come on, guys. We need a deadly striker who has proven himself in the CL. Giroud is finished at that level due to his lack of pace, Pulisic is not a striker.
Leao is too predictable and goes missing too often in big games. When we see Mbappe play, we realize how far Leao is from superstardom.
Thiaw needs to pull his $hit together (made the same mistake as the previous match) and Krunic needs to disappear from the team.
Don't even get me started on Pioli. This guy must be the luckiest manager in the world, but the thing about luck is that it always runs out, and the lack of true quality becomes undeniable. Should have been fired last winter.

The story of Milan this season is pretty much the same story that you spoke about with Rafa Leao. Against quality sides Milan is just outclassed. In the CL, against Inter & Juve a different team shows up and that isn't acceptable.

Having said that, the whole team needs a new head coach and a new coaching staff, especially new fitness coaches. The injuries during this Pioli tenure are simply unacceptable.
