When I and my brother n friends use to do all temptations walk n sing there songs my girl was my favorite i love those guys they work so hard. But all n all no one now what they go through n their Lives only God knows they all the music n the song made a great impact in my life. Thank you mr oldest Williams for keeping the group together

I wasn’t in Kindergarten yet when “My Girl” was released but remember hearing it all the time on the radio when it was released. Decades and decades of so many awesome songs by the Temptations with all those various awesome lead singers backed always by phenomenal harmonies of the other members, I can’t determine a one favorite song by them. Just one awesome group, basically whatever the lineup.
I talked to Paul Williams brother . He told me that his brother didn't die from suicide. His brother was murdered and his father was the only one in the family travel to Detroit from Birmingham, Al to find out what happened. He said, all of them in Motown were tight lip. I asked him why his brother was murder ? His brother was fighting over rights with Motown.
Wow, I didn't actually know that , but I suspected it because they said he was left handed and the gun was on his right side, so they covered it up with suicide, but he was drunk, I m from Detroit, loved . Motown, I was there when it was hot I love the temptations
I was there in Detroit back in 1963 and 1964. My friends and I used to go to the 20 Grand to see THE MOTOWN GROUP PERFORM . WE WOULD GO TO THE MOTOWN REVIEW AT THE THEATER IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT. I'M 81 IN YEARS, I CAN REMEMBER SO VIVIDLY. I ALSO REMEMBER GOING OVER THE BRIDGE INTO CANADA TO THE NATIONAL GUARD ARMY TO SEE SO MANY STARS OF THE MUSIC WORLD.😂😂😂

Temptations were the best PERIOD!!! Don’t get me wrong, many other great groups, but the Temptations were in a league all of their own. Love those guys. I hated to see the tragic deaths of some of them.
I was born in 1961 and I can' remember those great lyrics bye the temptations, but even with all the greatness of Smokey Robinson and Barry Gordy they are still number 2 compared to the delphonics, nuff said

I was pleasantly surprised though, he mentioned the song was performed first by the Undisputed Truth. I remembered being surprised the Temptations were singing this one so soon after the Undisputed Truth version. Witfield definitely succeeded with the Temptations version as many may have forgotten the Undisputed Truth version was first or maybe didn’t remember they recorded it at all.

And just being born where I was and to a mother who was also a singer, I don't think I would have chosen this "field" to work in.
